I spent my honey moon here with my beautiful new wife, we treated our selves to 5* accommodation and it was drop dead gorgeous. The Dona Filipa Hotel where we stayed was amazing, the room was like a mansion, four poster King sized bed and en suite, a large sitting room with 2 balconies, TV with sky plus and movies on demand, beautiful kitchen area and a family bathroom with marble floor and walls, and the facilities were excellent. It was all inclusive so the mini bar came in useful for a change and not just sitting there being watched. And the food was lush; you could either eat in the hotel restaurant or have room service. I know what I prefer! There were tennis courts and a golf course too, and the beach was a 2 minute walk away from the hotel, with its very own pool area as well, that was strange but it was used so it was a good idea for many. There was also a chef hut with in the pool area of the hotel, where you could eat what ever you wanted all day long, from BBQ Chicken, ribs, steak, duck etc, I've never had 1st class service in my life. I could get use to this. There was a cinema with in the resort and a few bars and restaurants. The hotel put on some evening entertainment too; we were in our element and really enjoyed ourselves. Vale do Lobo or ‘Lobo’ as I like to call it is a great resort that has got probably the widest variety of entertainment that I have come across in Portugal. It is a Golf and Beach resort which is perfect for couples as when you want some time to yourself the lads can go and play a few rounds of golf while the girls can top up their tan on the beautiful beach. Don’t get me wrong it can easily be the other way round but I am not really into golf and I love the beach so that’s what I did. We spent the evening together however, dining at a different restaurants and chilling out at the local bar. |
