If in Djerba I would urge you to visit the El Ghriba Synagogue, the Guellala Museum, Borj El Kebir, and the Djerba Explore theme park⦠great days out!Tunisia Lacks Character Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Stavious Date of travel: 29/07/2005
Skanes is a beautiful resort with a wonderful golden beach and plenty of clear blue water and sunshine. Although Skanes is a great resort with everything you might want from a sunny resort, it lacks the Tunisian feel to it you could quite easily forget that you are in Tunisia. You will have to venture out further if you want to get a feel for the country and experience how life is like in Tunisia but Skanes is brilliant if you just want a sunny beach holiday.Tunisia Lots of Villages Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Rudi Date of travel: 08/07/2006
Djerba is made up with of a collection of villages each is a little different so make sure you explore as many as you can. You will find a lot of souks where you can pick up some real neat little trinkets as souvenirs. There are many old buildings to see and you will meet a very diverse range of people from the local Tunisians to Libyans.Tunisia Go for daytime activities Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Nafiza Date of travel: 03/02/2007
Welcome to Sousse a holiday resort that does and at the same time doesn't make a great holiday destination. Let me explain what I mean by that, Sousse is a fairly nice town with sandy beaches and good food but it let me down when it came to things to do after sunset. There are very few clubs and bars and the ones that exist are in the hotels. I cannot however, fault the daytime activities as there is lots to do and it is a great place to do some great shopping. Tunisia Don't wander off Rating: 5/10 Submitted by: simone Date of travel: 10/12/2006
My adventure holiday to Skanes was anything but an adventure. The hotel was great and the beach was absolutely heaven but apart from the entertainment and facilities that the hotel provides there was nothing else to do outside the resort. If you like to wander around to get a feel of the local area like I do then you will be disappointed in Skanes as there is nothing to see. Luckily there are excursions that you can take to the nearby for a price of course. On the whole if you just like to stay within the resort and enjoy a spot of tanning on the beach and some light entertainment then Skanes is ideal but, if you are looking for a bit more adventure like I was than maybe on of the other places like Hammamet would be more suitable. Tunisia Plastic but Fantastic! Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Rhys Date of travel: 04/11/2006
Port el Kantaoui is a resort that fulfils everything that you expect form a top draw holiday resort. There is a fantastic array of water sports and the weather is good pretty much at any time of year. Although the resort is absolutely perfect in every way from the clean beaches to the great food you cant help but notice the plastic feel to the whole place, you could quite easily forget that your are in Tunisia as Port el Kantaoui just seems to lack that feel of Tunisian authenticity. Apart from that everything else about the resort is spot on and makes for a wonderful holiday for people of all ages.Tunisia Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Brian Date of travel: 01/06/2007
Mahdia has a perfect balance of a little bit of everything that you want from a holiday. There are hundreds of miles of clean beaches and some of the clearest waters you will ever see making water activities very enticing. There is a decent nightlife around the hotels where there are lots of bars and clubs. The food is quality I practically lived on Couscous while I was there, even though there where plenty of other great traditional dishes available to try. I would recommend that you try a little bit everything and not make the same mistake as I did.Tunisia Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Sheila Date of travel: 13/07/2007
Yasmine Hammamet is fantastic it is purpose built to be a tourist resort and it does a great job. There are lots of activities for everyone form the lush golf course for the adults to the theme park Carthage Land for the kids to enjoy. There are also very nice sandy beaches to where you can spend the day relaxing in the sun. Tunisia Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: isaac Date of travel: 01/09/2005
Hammamet is a traditional style resort with an artistic element to the resort. You will enjoy a shppoing trip through the medieval bazaarto pick up some really funky souvenirs. Hammamet lets itself down when it comes to the night life with very few clubs and bars which also close at around midnight. Tunisia Brilliant! I never thought that my holiday to Djerba would have such an impact on how I choose my holidays. Djerba was not my idea and I was pretty much forced to go there but boy am I glad that I went. The city is fantastic and I couldn't believe how beautiful everything was and the weather was splendid. Djerba has got some of the best beaches anywhere in Europe and the water sports are a lot of fun. The food in any of the restaurants tastes so fresh that the fish could quite easily been caught a few minutes before they arrive on your plate. Absolutely brilliant!
