Costa Adeje is an ideal family resort. With the lovely, safe beaches, and plenty of bars and restuarants in the evenings. Plenty of attractions from Loro park, Jungle park to the new Saim Water Park. Lovely walks to close by resorts Las America's and los Christianos, the perfect fun filled holiday, and of course the amazing weather all year round. I have visited Tenerife 15 times and keep going back.

We migrated to Australia from Scotland. Nothing can compare to an excellent relaxing holiday in Tenerife. Disappointment starts only when leaving to return home. We are on Vacation to Scotland but another terrific trip to Tenerife was a must. As the Aussies say " You Beuty "

Since finding Tenerife just over 10 years ago I have never wanted to holiday anywhere else. In fact, my husband & I love it so much we bought a small house in the beautiful, lush, sub tropical north west of the island. It has an ideal climate for holidays any time of the year & it's only a 4 hour's flight away from the gloomy British winter. It is never too hot or too cold. Tenerife offers the obvious sun & sand, walking in the spectacular scenery of one of Mount Teide's National Park 21 way-marked trails, golfing. fishing etc. If you want to hire a car the roads are in excellent condition & car hire is inexpensive, as is the efficient bus service. Eating out is so much more of a pleasure because Tenerife is a duty free lsland. Wine & other drinks are so much cheaper than in the UK as is the petrol. We can afford to eat out every night. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

My wife and I visited Playa de las Americas for the first time and were impressed by the east side of the town ( nearest to Los Christianos) where we were staying. The paths and walkways were very well kept and were a pleasure to walk down or up, as the case may be. Unfortunately for us, it was very blowy the week we were there but it did not diminish the pleasure of the town. I would certainly recommend it for a relaxing holiday during the daytime and for those who enjoy the pub/club scene, there was plenty of entertainment.

Tenerife an island of contrast, sea and sunshine, snow and mountain: Snow in the mountains in the morning, sunbathing on the beach in the afternoon. The desert landscape of the south contrasted with the lush greeness of the north. This really is a beautiful island with something for everyone from the Botanical Gardens, the Orchid house and, of course, Mount Teide down to the beaches, Clubs and loud, loud music! The people are friendly, food and language are no problem - you cannot beat Tenerife for budget, weather and exciting things to do. Go to Tenerife and ENJOY!

Los Gigantes, Tenerife, Spain Great Holiday!

Date of travel: 22/06/2007

The Los Gigantes hotel was a shambles, there were quite a few OAP's knocking about and there was never a chance to get a sun bed in the morning as everyone would snap them up by 7am, and if you walk off and leave your sun bed unattended for 5 minutes then it would get pinched. I was not happy with the way staff handled the situation and they never bothered either, that was annoying. We spent most of the time at the beach, but I would rather relax by the pool side and be able to go to my room with out any hassle so the beach had to do. I don't really do any water sport as the prices can be ridiculous but I managed to go on the Dingo’s, where you are pulled by a speed boat, my arms were killing by the end, but I never got flipped off though which was a relief! By the evening when we got back to our hotel, we would order some food and eat it on the balcony and watch the sunset. Then we would head to the bars for the night, The Bamboo Bar was a good night, full of spirit and everyone having a good time. And Dirty Harry’s bar was also another great night too, with cow boy dancers and eighties music, it was great fun. So apart from the hotel letting us down, everything else was perfect!

I holidayed in Puerto de Santiago with my sister and her 2 children and we had a whale of a time. The 2 children were very well behaved; they stayed in the small swimming pool most of the day while we sunbathed with a cocktail by the pool side. The Aparthotel Tamaimo Tropical from the front looked plain and boring but it was a total different story once you were inside. It had a huge entrance to the reception area, there was also a bar/restaurant and a gymnasium and the rooms were very cosy and relaxing. The view from our balcony was gorgeous too. The hotel would put on a BBQ evening and have live music playing plus there was a disco night as well. There were a few restaurants in the resort but we stayed in the hotel as the food was delicious and we knew what to expect. The service was excellent. We never bothered with going out of an evening due to having kids with us so we just chilled by the pool bar until it closed and then went to our room and watched a movie. It was a very peaceful holiday with great people.

The resort was good. Tidy at all points of the day and night and all of the shops and houses were kept up nicely as well. Our children made a good time at the beach so much so that they did not want to leave. My husband and I took a stroll from Puerto de Santiago to Los Gigantes at night and it was beautiful by night. Our hotel was not as nice as we envisioned but cheap, close to bars and there was a small Market across the street that had nice things.

Did not enjoy it at all. It did not have much to offer that I could not have seen at home. Too little in the way of bars and restaurants. The ones that we did visit were nice but they were too much like home. Where is the authenticity? We choose a smaller resort because we thought that it would be more old time and authentic but no. Way too commercial. The beach was not even in our resort but in the one next door. And if that was not terrible enough the rocks and sand were hard to walk and sit on. The black sand was very pretty but come middle of the day you felt like you were walking on coals.

It has only been 3 weeks since my girlfriend and I have been in Puerto De Santiago, and we have holiday sickness already. We miss it like mad!!!! We had an amazing time there as it was very peaceful and calm. There was not much to do for those who were there for loud times and dancing in the streets but for us who needed to get away, it was nirvana. Oh how she painted undisturbed and fully focused. She was able to concentrate fully on her work because she was so calm. I was able to write music on Los Gigantes beach to the sun set and rise. The shops in the town had nice items and people would also sell homemade treats. We bought bags of the “galletas” cookies from a little old lady. It was funny to see amidst this quiet area cabaret acts at some of the bars. They were quite good especially for this town and my girlfriend enjoyed it too. Very pleasant town and people. Very pleasant time and holiday.

Tiny with only a small hint of noise. Incredible place to catch up on sleep…not many disruptions or distractions. Many hills so when I wanted to move around and get about we had the challenge of the hills. They made you work to get place to place and your body felt very good afterwards. Nice too many bars but a great selection with friendly people. For times when the brain desired noise and the body wanted music we took the mere 15 minute walk Gigantes which is much more animated. Our hotel was in a great part of town close to everything and not a bad walk up the hill. It was sad that there was no beach in Santiago but there was a very nice one in Gigantes. I would have much rather used the beach time to relax and have it be right outside of the hotel but we took taxis during that time which proved to be cheap. I was happy that it was always clean and people we too embarrassed to throw anything down and litter. Will go again for quiet times but will choose a hotel closer to Gigantes and the beach.

I was not very impressed at all. Golf Del Sur was under construction and the resort was a total tip, it was a building site. Literally. When I arrived I stayed there for 2 days maximum and I was so fed up of the noise that I had to travel back home, for the first time in my life I can honestly say that I was glad to be back in the UK. I got a refund from the tour operator and I also made a complaint too as I was told that the resort had just been completed and that I would really enjoy my stay. To be fair, a couple of friends of mine traveled there a couple of years back and said they had a really good time, they also told me that there was going to be a revamp but nothing this extravagant. I don’t know what to think, maybe in a few years time who knows.

We did not have the best time. Not too much to do in the way of entertainment and not that many choices for eating. It was clean but small. I much preferred the other resorts close by. Too many young people and too much drinking contests. I did not like it at night as strange men and women were in the streets. Will not go back anytime soon.

Nice clean resort with good environment. Delightful people all around and hotel staff…out of this world. Grand variety of places to eat in or to have fun and you can choose what noise level of environment in which to dwell. The beach had tons of things to do. Water sports must have been thought of there because it hosted just about any sport. Fantastic supermarket in the resort that had food, clothes, and souvenirs. In many of the other shops around you can bargain hunt and get all sorts of things for cheap. Food was good and fresh seafood everywhere. So fresh that we had to ask for more lemon because we had never tasted anything like that before. Young, old, family, couple or alone, everyone has something to do and everyone should be able to enjoy themselves.

Playa de las Americas, Tenerife, Spain Love Las Americas

For the best holiday opportunity of your entire lifetime you must go to Playa de las Americas. We had the most incredible time, so much so that we did not want to leave. The thing that we were looking most is that I would have great entertainment and things that would let us be free and have amazing fun and we got that and so much more. All of the clubs and shows and parties were near our hotel. We danced and met other people from all over the place. We laughed so much that our bellies hurt at the comic club and we sang in front of everyone at the bar karaoke contest. Playa de las Americas was perfect for anyone at anytime. My boyfriend and I saw families with small children dancing at night time in bay view and bottoms up. We spotted older couples along the walkways hand in hand. The cutest thing was this older gentleman pushing his wife in her wheel chair. Las Americas was wheelchair friendly as well. Lunch, dinner, brunch, or midnight snack at anytime there was something to eat available. The food was amazing and the so called high end food was not that expensive. Mario’s was Vincent’s favorite place to eat and I favored the George as it was the nicest pub with the best food and drink. We fancied the beach and lying on the sand. It was nice seeing people out there are skis and there were places where we rented cheap sail boats. On the harbour we shopped and ate and watched out over the resort. Los Cristianos was next door and as a couple we had a great time by the moonlight. The must do is the water park with the big slides and relaxing pond. For the best eats Bentleys is a great treat. Hope to see you there on our next holiday.

Golf Del Sur, Tenerife, Spain Wait Til Construction is Over

Golf Del Sur made for a quite disappointing holiday. It was undergoing much development which caused rubbish and building pieces to be all over the place. The construction made it look very dirty and if the repairs and makeovers were going to be so extensive they should have closed it down. The work left us not much to do besides golf so we hired a car so to get away from the stress and boredom. Luckily we had the mountains as refuge and we spent a great amount of time there. We also visited the beach that was close by and that also improved our holiday. There was no construction there and it was clean. There was a much better range of restaurants and bars. The water park at Las Americas was the topper as we were able to see a dolphin show and slide down water slides. No one should really go to Golf Del Sur until all of the construction is done. We spent most of our holiday avoiding our holiday destination of choice.

I have to say, this is a lovely resort. There is something for everyone here, even the boring type! My hotel was great, it was huge, and I was on the 1st floor though so I never got to see everything. The hotel was like a palace, inside there were greenery and plants every where, absolutely gorgeous. There was an acrobatic evening and people singing while playing on the piano while guest dined. The view was so fantastic, you had the pool and the ocean, it was unbelievable but it was true. I am totally still in shock of how beautiful the hotel was; there was a casino inside too. What wasn't there?! The entertainment out side of the hotel was also great, live music, stand up comedians and disco bars. Really lively place and it made my holiday the best.

I took my girlfriend to Costa Del Silencio for her 21st birthday and she totally loved it. The hotel was nice, very clean and airy. The restaurants were cool, eating at the Giunduia, you can pick and choose what kind of pizza you want and what kind of topping too, that was cool, I had all the meat, but it wasn't a Mighty Meaty thought, ha-ha. Flicks bar was just up the road and it had cabaret and Sunday afternoon shows plus Stella's bar was a good place to go as well. The beach was very close by so you could grab a pint and go and chill out on a sun bed and relax watching the stars and listening to the sea, that was cool. We will defo go back sometime.

I came to Callao Salvaje with my sister and thought the resort was small it was ok, had sand, sea and drink. It was a last minute thing as we work all the time and don't get time to look but someone recommended Callao Salvaje to me and said it was a pleasant place to visit. We stayed at the Callao Garden Apartments, they were stunning. I would of preferred a more of a livelier resort though but beggers can't be choosers. Although all we did was sunbathe all day long and visit a couple of the bars in the evening, we can't say it wasn't what we expected. We did enjoy it and we got to know some of the locals, so we would go back one day.

Me and my boyfriend went to Puerto Santiago for a peaceful holiday and we got just that. The hotel was called Dragos Del Sur and it was very spacious and well equipped. There was no in house entertainment except a singer on a saturday night but that was half hour long and that was it really. But the fun was just a few yards up from the hotel so we never had to walk miles or have to get a taxi anywhere. The Little Mexico was a popular place to eat, very good value for money too. The beach was nice, quiet but thats how I like my holidays.

I and my wife stayed at the Vigilia Park hotel. It had a rooftop pool and bar which was unusual for a hotel, or maybe it's just me. But I?ve never seen a rooftop pool ever, there was also another pool close by to the hotel for everyone to enjoy if you?re not a fan of heights. The room was lovely, great views, great people and friendly staff who were there at your beck and call if you needed it. The beach area was nice and relaxing, wasn't to packed and you could chill out with out people walking by all the time and kicking sand everywhere. There was a pub that I grew close to, had my favorite beer and had descent music and great atmosphere. You could not wish for anything else.

Puerto de la Cruz is a great resort, I thought it was a top holiday, it's one of the best so far for me. The water park is mint, there was this huge pool with a massive water fountain in the middle that was so stunning, the slides were top and when you got bored you could go to the bar and play pool and have a few drinks and have a laugh. The hotel was cool, had the usual, bedroom, lounge/kitchen and bathroom, plus a balcony with a view of the mountains. The beach was stunning, it had my best sport of all; wake boarding. I also visited the the Taoro Park, where the main Casino is based, I spent a few quid there but it was a really wicked experience though and I really enjoyed it. Its on my top 3 list of best holidays.

Me and my friend like to go on a holiday so we can relax with out having to go miles for a beach or good bars etc. So when we got to Playa Paraiso we was kind of suprised as the beach wasn't that nice and the bars wasn't up to scratch either. We had to go out of the resort to enjoy our selves basically. Wasn't impressed. If I wanted to go to another resort to have fun I would of booked my stay in that resort, so I was disappointed. We stayed by the pool most of the days and headed to Playa De Las Americas some days to enjoy a golden sandy beach, top bars and gorgeous views. The hotel we stayed in was the Columbus and the view we had was the other side of the hotel and the pool in between the hotel, we never got to see any beautiful views from our hotel room, which we was hoping for... It wasn't the bestest holiday I have been on, but it wasn't the worst either. But I would not go back.

I went to Playa de las Americas with my 2 boys and they loved it, so that was good. The eldest was 17 and enjoed going to the bars of an evening and meeting new people. In the day time we would go to the Teide National Park and enjoy a family day out. The beches were absolutly stunning too, I went on a boat trip while my 2 boys enjoyed jet skiing and wind surfing. In the evening we would all have a family meal at the local bar and then we would hit the town and have a laugh, although my youngest could not drink, he still had a fun time. It was a good holiday, my boys would love to go back, I don't blame them really. Playa de las Americas is a really beautiful resort.

I like Tenerife but I don't like the Volcanic black sand though, Playa La Arena is a nice resort other wise, we stayed in the Playa La Arena hotel, it was very big and I thought the pool was a little small for the size of the hotel, it was always crowded so there was no chance of getting a space to sunbathe, so we had to go to the beach most of the time. There was plenty for the kids to do but I found that there wasn't as much for the grown ups so that was a bit of a turn off. In the evening, everything changed, it was a party resort, full of live music, karaoke etc, I got drunk on a few occasions and embarrased my self while singing Abba on the karaoke, never again, lol...

It has everything a resort needs, pool area, cafe's, restaurants, bars and clubs, plus tourist shops, a sports area and a dvd bar with all the latest films etc. The beach is also nice with water sports and volley ball and boat trips. The weather was fantastic, not to hot and there was a nice breeze from the beach every now and then so it made it a pleasant holiday.

I was amazed with the view from the hotel and the beach, of the mountains, it was beautiful. It was also a good experience, and I went on the boat that took us around the coastline. I spent most of the holiday at the beach, the pool wasn't big enough and was full of groups which made me feel un easy and paranoid. The resort is really nice and gives you that holiday buzz, I hired a bike and went round the resorts, there were a few top bars and clubs but was out of the way so we stuck to the bars in the resort, they were cool and had a disco night and then a rave night too. The hotel was pretty basic, kitchen, bedroom and lounge was all in one small room and the bathroom was also tiny but it did uswhile we was there.

We stayed at The Palms (bungalow) it was luxury and fab. There was a day where we would drive to the coast and have a spot of lunch by the sea and then head back to the resort and have a late evening golf session. There was a selection of bars and there was also the members bar for the golfers, but there was a fee which put us off, it was just a normal bar really but you got a free glass of champers. I enjoed it but I would like to explore other resorts to get a feel of the best places to visit.

It was a home from home hotel that's for sure, we stayed at the Regency Paradise Court resort in Costa Adeje, the rooms had its own top class kitchen, 2 bedrooms but we only needed the one, huge bathroom with shower and bath, gorgeous balcony with table and chairs and a beautiful lounge with A/C.. It was better than my own home. Now, the pool was top notch as well, nice waterfall in the middle and a bar at the edge with stools in the water. The beach was nice, just like all the beaches i've seen but this beach had jet skiing and wind surfing, a sport I really enjoy. There is some top night clubs and bars in the resort but we mainly stayed with in the hotel, proping up the bar as there was live music and stand ups anyway so we didn't need to move. I recommend it to everyone, it's top notch service.

I also took my girlfriend on a camel tour and she loved it, and then we went to the animal park and fed some of the giraffes. It was a beautiful holiday, proberly one of my best to date. I would not say it's the worst holiday i've been to but it's not the greatest 1 either.
