it's amazing, the city is bustling full of trendy shops and nightlife. theres so much to do. it's a gorgeous place!Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain See it to believe it! Rating: 4/10 Submitted by: Jodie Date of travel: 20/04/2010
Having visited Benidorm as a child, my dad was keen to return. And so, we booked an all-inclusive holiday for Easter half-term. On arrival, we found it was easy to adjust to the temperature, a mere 15 degrees. Whilst we were hoping for a little more sun, we made the most of the mild climate by walking down to the Old Town. I've honestly never seen a less Spanish resort, it's easy to forget that you've even left England. Whilst the beach looked lovely and clean, it was much too cold for a dip in the sea so we spent the majority of the holiday either in the hotel complex or in the town centre. Benidorm is great for those with small children, or those who don't mind missing out on Spanish culture. Personally, I like to see some of the country I'm paying to go to. Sorry Benidorm regulars, but it's just not for some people.Cala D'Or, Majorca, Spain Horrible Fruit Salesmen Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Frederick Date of travel: 01/08/2010
They have a serious problem with the fruit sellers on the Cala D'Or beaches. They are too loud and noisy, and make tourists angry. We will never come to Cala D'Or again because of the bad experience with the screaming fruit sellers. They destroy the peace and quiet and should be not allowed to come to the beach anymore!Estartit, Costa Brava, Spain I love Estartit!! Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Helen Date of travel: 22/09/2010
The first time I went to Estarit was 40 years ago!! with my parents and my brother I was 13yrs old we went again 2 years later. The next time I went was with my husband and our 3 children the youngest was 14mths old, that was 26yrs ago and I think we have been almost every year since sometimes twice a year! this year my husband and I decided we would drive down and really enjoyed the journey which was much more relaxing than flying. We went again in September this year with our daughter and grandson who is 2yrs old and his 2nd hoilday in Estartit! he loved the beach which has always been wonderful for children, plenty of room to play without disturbing any sunbathers. We love Fancy's Restaurant, Roberts, Harvey's and Les Salines and many more. We have missed Toni's since the 'Great Toni' retired. just sorting out dates to come next summer with our son his wife and our other grandson, can't wait!!Ibiza, Spain don toni ,done good Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: diane Date of travel: 26/09/2008

Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Nazmuda Date of travel: 17/04/2000
First thing I noticed about salou was the colour or the sky. It was a magnificent blue and made you feel as though you can put you hands up in the air and fly.
Salou has the best of both worlds, in one hand it's perfect for all the club goers (lots of tropical clubs like
snoopys etc.. and on the other hand
it's a funtime entertainment hub for children (themeparks and lots of other discoveries)
you can easily get to Barcelona with a travel and the journey does not exceep more than 30 mins or so.
The beaches were quite clean and food of all different varieties are available ( best was taj mahal restaurant)
hope you try this destination once before you die... You will not be dissappointed. Estartit, Costa Brava, Spain its ok! Rating: 4/10 Submitted by: Jenni Date of travel: 26/09/2008
Estartit inst really a place I would visit again! I find it quite boring! Nothing much really to do! Beach is OK...but not really many shops around and bars compared to other places on the Costa Brava. Ok if you want a quiet break.Calella, Costa Brava, Spain :) Love this place! Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Jenni Date of travel: 26/12/2009
I loved Calella really nice and friendly place to visit! he beach is nice as well as the bras and restaurants! Many shops !!! Very good destination to go if wanting to visit Barcelona as the train track runs through Calella! it costs roughly 8 Euro return to Barcelona on the train well worth it!! Also there is a nice little bar next to the Olympic Hotel and the food was to die for! Also for a pint it was 1 euro! I highly recommend Calella. Fun for whole family!Salou, Costa Dorada, Spain Salou Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Jenni Date of travel: 26/05/2010

Costa Adeje is an ideal family resort. With the lovely, safe beaches, and plenty of bars and restuarants in the evenings. Plenty of attractions from Loro park, Jungle park to the new Saim Water Park. Lovely walks to close by resorts Las America's and los Christianos, the perfect fun filled holiday, and of course the amazing weather all year round. I have visited Tenerife 15 times and keep going back.Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, Spain Nice but nothing special Rating: 4/10 Submitted by: Steven Date of travel: 30/06/2010
Although we had a good time i feel when you compare it to puerto rico and what its neighbouring island has to offer then it falls well short. Not a site seeing holiday but would be ideal for somone look to lase around the pool with nice weather and a cool breezeCosta Blanca Other, Costa Blanca, Spain Villamartin -Murcia Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Mel Date of travel: 30/07/2007
A superb family resort, beautiful villa close to amenities. Buzzling square packed full of restaurants offering different cuisines. Would highly recommend, just want to go back.Puerto Banus, Costa del Sol, Spain Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Kim Date of travel: 17/05/2010
Just got back from my 6th visit to the glamourous puerto banus had a great time lots to see and do loads if great restaurants and bars ranging in price. If you take the kids there is enough to keep them entertained with the flash cars , boats at the port , short bus ride to aqua parks or a trip over to tax free gibralter. If your a party animal head down to nikki beach or ocean club little on the expensive side but well worth it. You can shop til you drop with gucci to your zara and mango high street brands. Would highly reccommend even if you take a weekend away here weather is mostly glorious sunshine so much to do. My fav restaurant is Picasso the one that's always packed as it is great value for money.Playa Taurito, Gran Canaria, Spain Honeymoon in the Canaries Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Suzanne Date of travel: 08/09/2008
We spent our honeymoon in a wonderful hotel near the little resort of Puerto de Mogan in the south west of Gran Canaria. This island is wonderful, with some beautiful little towns and villages to be found - don't be afraid to hire a car! We spent time in the mountains, as well as a day in the capital of Las Palmas, which had a brilliant indoor food market, and Christopher Columbus' house, which was open to the public, really interesting, beautiful, and best of all free! I would highly recommend the market in Puerto de Mogan on a Friday morning, as well as Maspalomas for the beautiful dunes and sandy beach, and Puerto Rico for the bars!Costa del Sol, Spain very poor Rating: 3/10 Submitted by: agnes Date of travel: 07/04/2010

Just come back from Albir , had a fantastic time , the main thing people comment on after a holiday to albir is the lack of good entertainment bars , well that's all changed as the the new Kazablanca bar/club opened on the 14/02/2010 its a cabaret style place very clean and not the normal rubbish the decor is excellent and the prices are one of the lowest in albir , and if thats not enough its oppisite albir gardens and open till 4am Santa Ponsa, Majorca, Spain Excellent resort. Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: GERRY Date of travel: 16/02/2010
The two of us booked Santa Ponsa for our 25th anniversary. We had an excellent holiday, sunshine all the way. There is plenty to do all over the Island and Magaluf hosts a show called PIRATES, well worth going to one night. There are a great varieties of bars and restaurants in Santa Ponsa but some are unjustifiably expensive. One jumps to mind The Dubliner Bar and pizzeria, it was dreadful and way too expensive for food and drink. We found the best value around the beach restaurants and bars.Santa Ponsa, Majorca, Spain Good resort but expensive Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Heather Date of travel: 10/08/2009
Have been to Santa Ponsa several times now and each year its getting more and more expensive without any of the businesses reinvesting in modern culture and in turn the resort is getting less and less tourists with last year being so so quiet. Places on the main strip vary so much in price for the same drinks and food that its hard to comprehend why. For example The Dubliner bar which has been there for years sees fit to serve awful food and poor service but charges way more than anyone else? Other bars like Simplys and Hotshots offer cheap drinks at the steps but when you actually ask for them they are cheap sickly Spanish versions of real alcoholic beverages. Aside from this the resort has nearly a guaranteed heat factor, friendly atmosphere in most places and something for everyone. Someone just needs to get together and decide on placating tourists like us and charge reasonable prices and it could all become a busy resort again.Torremolinos, Costa del Sol, Spain Singles holiday in Torres Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Andrew Date of travel: 11/08/2009
Torremelinos is a brilliant place. Unfortunately went on singles holiday with singlesevents-scotland.co.uk based in Glasgow which was badly organised and ripped off by greedy tour guide (Alex). Advice would be to get some trusted friends to go with rather than an untrustworthy shady operator.Salou, Costa Dorada, Spain FAMILY HOLIDAY Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Dionne Date of travel: 16/06/2009

We stayed in the BOUGANVILLA, very good hotel, appartments clean, large pool, good for kids.
Takes 15 mins to walk into sa coma, or walk on to the next resort for better restaurants.
Hire a car and as locals where the best beaches are, they are quieter. cleaner and more secluded.
Lovely holiday

Outstanding city which can be visited time and time again. The great thing about this cultured city is that there is a new suprise aroudn every corner; you dont need to go into the parks and cathedrals to witness the great art which creates the great atmosphere of the city. Although usually tiring, it is well worth a visit. You may hear horror stories of the pick pockets on Las Ramblas but I had no bad experiences during my stay, be aware of your bag and your surroundings and you're almost sure to be fine. Also, most people in Barcelona appear to be awestruck toursists like myself. Food and drink aren't badly priced if you look around and avoid the main streets. The nightlife is cheap if you are girls, for the men it tends to be slightly more cruel to your bank balance...If you enjoy art and touristy, bustley places you will love Barcelona!Spain Mojacar Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Sarah Date of travel: 20/07/2009
Mojacar is a great place to go away if you want to visit the 'real Spain'. With its Old Town up on the hill and the modern bars and clubs along the playa, Mojacar is a place for everyone. The locals are friendly and welcoming and the sandy beaches are beautiful. If you visit soon you will be able to experience the great Spanish culture of this up and coming place before the tousists start flooding in.Tenerife, Spain Why Tenerife Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Elaine Date of travel: 02/10/2009

Chill out in the heat of Can Picafort.
Beaches are clean. The sea is crystal. Add the atmosphere and this makes the place out of this world! The restaurants are very good and the prices most acceptable. To sit outside of a bar or restaurant on the quiet pedestrianised promenade towards Son Baulo watching the sun go down makes Can Picafort the perfect place for getting away from it all.
We stay each year at the Picafort Park Hotel and love the stroll into the main town centre , taking in the odd watering hole, before strolling back and enjoying superb evening entertainment layed on in the hotel lounge or out on the pool side terrace. Just down the road there is a smashing bar called Scandals and the refreshing drinks served by a great bunch of staff make you so welcome.
Can Picafort is so relaxing you just want your holiday never to end. Try it!!Santa Ponsa, Majorca, Spain Santa ponsa Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Stephen Date of travel: 04/06/2009

This was our first visit to Albir (10 mins from Benidorm). My wife, two sons and myself all stayed at the Gardens Hotel. Hotel was clean and comfortable, so no complaints there. Every morning started with a visit to Shevlins bar, about 3-5 mins walk down from the hotel. They do a very nice full english at very reasonable prices, plus I could catch up on the latest skynews whilst eating my breakfast! It does get quite busy there so be early. A stroll down to the beach (pebbles) takes around 15 mins, although the buses are every 15 mins at a cost of 1.20e. Some nice bars and cafes on the seafront, so spoilt for choice. Also tried and failed miserably at the mini golf on the sea front. Try the WOK for a chinese buffet, only 10e for eat all you want, nice surroundings too. With having the two boys, we did not venture into benidorm, but maybe one for the future. Shevlins also has karaoke on the weekend, which again was very popular. I would recommend this resort to families and couples, very rlaxing with plenty to keep you occupied. I rate this as one of my favourite holidays.Santa Ponsa, Majorca, Spain Santa Ponsa suits all needs Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Nicole Date of travel: 25/08/2008

Benidorm, Costa Blanca, Spain Benidorm something for everyon Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Ronnie Date of travel: 27/03/2009
What do you want from a holiday? Do you want great beaches, good nightlife, theme parks,a sunny climate, Benidorm has it all. It is only 3 hours flying time from the UK. Beni is one of the largest resort cities in Spain, and has approx 1 million vistors each year most of them British. There are four areas in Benidorm,Ricon,Levente,Old Town, and Poniente, each with it's own flavour. They are like four mini towns in one large city.
The Ricon and Lavente districts are catering for the British mass tourism market, the Old Town is were the Spainish live and the Poniente area is mostly Spainish holidaymakers.
The Recon and Lavente have most of the hotels all of which are high rise with up to 20 floors, in the travel brouchers. They have also the largest entertainment area devoted to the British holiday maker, with most bars being run by ex pats from the Uk, from night clubs, cabaret bars, karaoke, themed bars, lap dancing clubs all can be found in this district. For drinks ect it is one of the cheapest in Spain, a pint can still be had for 1 euro in the daytime.
The Old Town district seems to have a large number of ice cream palours empty during the day but packed at night with the Spanish. It is quaint with a large number of good shops and for a real flavour of Spain go to Tapas Alley which is a small area of tapas bars and well worth a visit. The Old Town also has a very large gay scene at night with a fair number of gay bars and clubs. The Poniente area is quiet end of this brash city with Spainish tourists being in the majority.
It has something to suit everyone. The infamous Square, for the clubers, The Old town for the gays,The Calle Gerona, for the families and golden oldies, and blue flag beaches for the sun worshipers.Benidorm is a place you will either love or hate. It is big and brash with very little Spainish culture. If you want a flavour of Spain then it is not for you. If you want 24 hour entertainment, good beaches,British food, then you will love it. Either way try it and see.Benalmadena, Costa del Sol, Spain Great Location To Get About Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Kevin Date of travel: 15/03/2009
Benalmadena, this is great central location for getting around the Costa del Sol and my favourite mainland Spanish resort. There is a great train service that links the Costa del Sol area running from Malaga ? Fuengirola which is only a couple of Euros and also there is a good regular bus service that links the resorts. In fact we have used the train instead of taxis / transfers to & from the airport since the train stops here as well!
So unless you have difficulty in walking you don?t need to hire a car. In a car or taxi it?s about 15-20 minutes drive to the airport and costs about 20 Euros. The taxis can take four people so if you?re are arranging your own transfers don?t bother booking since there are always plenty of taxi?s waiting and this works out alot cheaper.
Benalmadena is a now well developed and spread out resort with the best location nearest the marina end. If you booking and have never been here before my advice is to get as close to the marina as possible and may be even consider Monte-Mar which is sandwiched between Torremolinos and Benalmadena just the other side of the marina. However, if your are looking for peace & quite book a hotel near to the Torrquebrada end which is fringed by golf courses and therefore more tranquil.
The beaches are cleaned daily and fairly well cared for and are of soft light brown sand. My favourite beach is by the Paseo Maritimo and is like a bay with the edge of the marina to left. The beach has its own life guards toilets and bar / restaurant. The promenade from which it?s possible to walk to Torremolinos is also backed by a line of shops, bars and restaurants in addition to those in an around the marina. Sun beds and parasols are available for hire from 6 euros a day. The beach can be busy at times especially weekends when there are more Spanish locals around however we have always easily found a spot.
The is so much to here to do apart from the beach there are 2 Aqua parks with the one in Torremolinos being only a short taxi ride away. There are boat trips from the marina and fishing, sailing & water sports in addition to which there is also a variety of day trips available by coach to mountainous region of the Ronda in the Andalucia area with stunning mountain views, lakes and Spanish architecture. Also you can go to Gibraltar to see the rock & the monkeys and do some real duty free shopping.
The weather here is also great it seems to have its own micro climate being backed by the mountains and close to Morocco which you can just make out across the sea on a clear day.
While eating out you are spoilt for choice with every taste and budget catered for with beach lined with chiringuito?s (charcoal grill restaurants) serving freshly caught fish through to Italian, Moroccan, traditional Spanish and English. There is even a MacDonald?s and Burger King as well as various take-away outlets. In fact price wise the area has the best value for eating out compared to any Spanish resort I?ve ever been to. Maybe that?s due in part to the amount of competition around. We normally go self catering here and eat out every night at a different location. There is also great choice of evening entertainment in the bigger bars especially around the Bonanza Square area which is a little way in land up a very steep hill. Also for the young at heart there is 24 hour square with a range of discos and music bars in a very lively area.
The resort extends up a step hill called heart attack hill by the local ex pats and not without good reason! If you are staying in the area up from or around Bonanza square or Arroyo you do need to be fairly fit to negotiate this hill. That said though taxis are cheap and plenty full costing about 4 Euros to come up from the beach.
This is really a great place to go but don?t stay stuck in your hotel if you visit this area. Be prepared to get out and about as this place has got everything. It goes from the almost Blackpool garish to very picture Cala D'Or, Majorca, Spain Already booked a return! Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Kevin Date of travel: 14/09/2008
Cala D?or is a purpose built resort that really has a bit everything for everyone. True it can be a bit brash & lively but if you are staying away from the centre it?s also quite and relaxing. Built around three small sandy coves the beach space is limited and at peak times you will need to be out early to get a spot / sun bed. The main beach Cala Gran has bars & restaurants shops & toilets and is fringed by pine trees. The sea is quite calm, the beach shelves away gently and has life guards and is quite for safe children being fairly shallow. Boat trips leave here daily to visit the nearby resorts like a sea taxi. There is also a fresh fruit seller who visits the beach singing a song to advertise his wares.
There is plenty bars, takeaways and restaurants around with a wide range of cuisine. Because of competition in the resort prices are more in line with mainland Spain and its quite reasonable eating & drinking out. However, that said the Marina area seemed a little more upmarket with a price to match as well! Generally those bars with live performers are a little more expensive. There?s a typically mix of tribute acts and general middle of the road performers along with the odd karaoke bar.
Generally everyone seems friendly out and about. I felt very safe even late at night unlike some mainland Spanish resorts I?ve holidayed in! There are plenty of supermarkets around although prices seem fairly high compared to other places I?ve been. There is a tourist train that goes round the resort but if you are near the resort centre everything is in easy walking distance. The resort is on a slope however it?s not to steep to walk around easily.
I think Cala D?or is better suited to families with younger children and may be older couples however it does as I said before have a bit something for everyone. We stayed a week and eat out every night and visited different bars and generally had a good time. So if you have older children don?t be put of at all. Would we go back again well, we have already booked!

Hi,
I went to Caleta de Fuste last year with a friend and we were after some relaxation. That is exactly what we found. The place is amazing - natural beaches with white sands, great appartments mostly studio appartments and very very cheap. It is the closest you will get to the Caribbean but only 4 hrs away. Stunning weather as well - sunshine throughout the year - no winter in Fuerteventure. Always hot. I loved it so much that i am planning to buy a holiday home there. Deffinitly a place to visit and see all the beautiful scenery.

Stayed at Camping excalibur, pool was fantastic, just not to many sunbeds. Each morning we had a lovely breakfast at shevlins 10 min walk into the the main road into albir, which was a brilliant start to each day n very reasonable prices. Albir beach was really nice just pebbly but didnt bother us. Some nice restaurants to eat in on a nite, saritas indian was lovely not cheap but a lovely meal think was about 60euros for 4 of us. Chineses were cheap but not that great depending on what we had. Spent a few nites in benidorm 10 min taxi ride away, and 2nites in shevlins for karaoke which was very popular. I would definatly return to albir. Cala Millor, Majorca, Spain Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Colette Date of travel: 12/12/2008

The shops and bars were located nearby. The weather was lovely. We visited the market and the shopping mall. We even took a ride on the train which took you round the resort. That was very interesting seeing all the locals houses and how different they were. San Antonio has a reputation which is pretty hard to live up to, yet it keeps doing so. This was my fourth time there and I'm going back again. It is the perfect holiday for younger people, excellent weather, loads of bars, the best clubs in the world, all sorts of eateries. The clubs may be expensive, but they're worth it, they arent the same clubbing experiences as back here in Blighty! Food can found fairly cheap too, 5 euros for full english isnt bad! However, it was a cheap holiday but I did expect to see the sun more than once lol. I can imagine what it would be like in high season though, plenty to do for both adults and children. Loads of family fun things to do. there are lots of clubs, bars and restruants and lots of shops too. It's easy to get around as port torrent isn't that big but it is big on entertainment! It's quite easy to get from one town to another as the buses run regularly and they are very reasonably priced. The people are friendly and helpful and if you want to chill out you can or if you want to party into the wee hours you can do so too.Jandia, Fuerteventura, Spain not a hotel to return too Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Gillian Date of travel: 05/03/2008

Since finding Tenerife just over 10 years ago I have never wanted to holiday anywhere else. In fact, my husband & I love it so much we bought a small house in the beautiful, lush, sub tropical north west of the island. It has an ideal climate for holidays any time of the year & it's only a 4 hour's flight away from the gloomy British winter. It is never too hot or too cold. Tenerife offers the obvious sun & sand, walking in the spectacular scenery of one of Mount Teide's National Park 21 way-marked trails, golfing. fishing etc. If you want to hire a car the roads are in excellent condition & car hire is inexpensive, as is the efficient bus service. Eating out is so much more of a pleasure because Tenerife is a duty free lsland. Wine & other drinks are so much cheaper than in the UK as is the petrol. We can afford to eat out every night. I wouldn't go anywhere else.Tenerife, Spain The Windy Isle Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: William Date of travel: 18/01/2008

Unfortunately for us, it was very blowy the week we were there but it did not diminish the pleasure of the town.
I would certainly recommend it for a relaxing holiday during the daytime and for those who enjoy the pub/club scene, there was plenty of entertainment.Tenerife, Spain The Magic Of Tenerife Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Barbara Date of travel: 15/04/2007
Tenerife an island of contrast, sea and sunshine, snow and mountain:
Snow in the mountains in the morning, sunbathing on the beach in the afternoon.
The desert landscape of the south contrasted with the lush greeness of the north.
This really is a beautiful island with something for everyone from the Botanical Gardens, the Orchid house and, of course, Mount Teide down to the beaches, Clubs and loud, loud music!
The people are friendly, food and language are no problem - you cannot beat Tenerife for budget, weather and exciting things to do.

The beach is on your door step too so you have the best of both worlds; it was a good choice of holiday. The El Popopollo cafĆ© was our main morning start to the day, with a greasy breakfast and a nice cup of tea to follow. Then we would hit the beach and sunbathe for a couple hours. Next door to the El Popopolla cafe was our favourite pub, the Ye Olde Pub, the drinks were very refreshing. There was a golf course if anyone fancied a game of golf and there were also tennis courts too to keep you active through out the day. The pool wasn't big but the beach was across the road so you had a choice of either, but the beach was more fun, with a mixture of water activities. The resort is very over loaded with shops, restaurants and bars which make it look scruffy but that wasnāt a problem to us. Everything was cheap, food was fast and tasty and the entertainment was good too. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Palma Nova, our hotel was gorgeous! It was the Mimosa Park hotel with brilliant facilities like Tennis Courts, indoor swimming pool, self service food stand, restaurant, cocktail bar, pool bar and a gym. Oh yeah and an outside pool with palm trees every where. The weather was fabulous, not one cloud while we were there, and there was a lovely breeze coming from the shore to keep you cool. The beach was beautiful, golden sand and green sea, very shallow too, you could see the corals. There were bottom glass boat rides round the island, and the 18-30 day trips, Iām normally sea sick but it was free drinks until it all run out, a small fee though for the trip then I worried about the consequences afterwards! Lively bars in the evening, very crowded as well though, some bars were to crowded and got very uncontrollable so we stuck to the less livelier bars, same fun just not as busy! Be wary of some of the clubs though, they can charge you a silly price just to enter the place, then the drinks on top as well. I spent 135 euros in one night, we only went to the 1 night club but that cost us 40 euros each which is like Ā£25 and the drinks were like 14 euros, Ā£7.. Ridiculous! There is plenty for everyone to enjoy in Pineda, some expensive activities and some reasonable prices too, depends on what youāre into really. But you will not get bored at any time. The beach was big, very open and breezy and very relaxing. You get some locals trying to sell but there not in your face or pushy like most. There are some lively bars in the evening, great entertainment. Loved the karaoke evenings at Co Coās, great atmosphere and everyone joined in too, great night. Hotel Eden Binibeca where me and my husband stayed was also beautiful, the bar opened up over looking the pool side area, the pool wasn't big but it was pretty though. It was very peaceful and relaxing. You could also see the beach from the pool side it was a distance but you canāt knock the view. The restaurant was based upstairs with huge patio doors overlooking the resort and a buffet area where you could choose what you wanted to eat but sometimes it was left there to long so I would order my food fresh, and there was a wide selection too. Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Paula Date of travel: 22/06/2007
The Los Gigantes hotel was a shambles, there were quite a few OAP's knocking about and there was never a chance to get a sun bed in the morning as everyone would snap them up by 7am, and if you walk off and leave your sun bed unattended for 5 minutes then it would get pinched. I was not happy with the way staff handled the situation and they never bothered either, that was annoying. We spent most of the time at the beach, but I would rather relax by the pool side and be able to go to my room with out any hassle so the beach had to do. I don't really do any water sport as the prices can be ridiculous but I managed to go on the Dingoās, where you are pulled by a speed boat, my arms were killing by the end, but I never got flipped off though which was a relief! By the evening when we got back to our hotel, we would order some food and eat it on the balcony and watch the sunset. Then we would head to the bars for the night, The Bamboo Bar was a good night, full of spirit and everyone having a good time. And Dirty Harryās bar was also another great night too, with cow boy dancers and eighties music, it was great fun. I holidayed in Puerto de Santiago with my sister and her 2 children and we had a whale of a time. The 2 children were very well behaved; they stayed in the small swimming pool most of the day while we sunbathed with a cocktail by the pool side. The Aparthotel Tamaimo Tropical from the front looked plain and boring but it was a total different story once you were inside. It had a huge entrance to the reception area, there was also a bar/restaurant and a gymnasium and the rooms were very cosy and relaxing. The view from our balcony was gorgeous too. The hotel would put on a BBQ evening and have live music playing plus there was a disco night as well. There were a few restaurants in the resort but we stayed in the hotel as the food was delicious and we knew what to expect. The service was excellent. We never bothered with going out of an evening due to having kids with us so we just chilled by the pool bar until it closed and then went to our room and watched a movie. It was a very peaceful holiday with great people.Sa Coma, Majorca, Spain Excellent Presentation! Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Allen Date of travel: 26/07/2007
Sa Coma lit up my week, huge gates led you into the resort and the hotel was very stunning with palm trees on either side of the revolving doors. The whole layout was fantastic. The beach was a 5 minute walk and was up to standard with everything else. A few rocky patches but that was at the far end of the beach so it never interfered with our sunbathing. And the Scuba Diving was brilliant. There isnāt much nightlife though, you do get the odd bars and disco bars but itās not your typical party holiday where everything comes to life at night and the bars stay open till 4am in the morning. So this would properly disappoint the younger ones. But the resort and service is great. Reasonable prices too compared to some resorts Iāve stayed in.Costa de Almerica - Other, Costa de Almeria, Spain Great Getaway! Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Robin Date of travel: 19/04/2007

Gran Canaria is a nice place but the weather wasn't as warm as expected, I know it was late in the year but I hoped for a hot holiday and not a wet holiday. A couple of the days were nice but the rest were miserable. Shame really as the resort was very nice and lively. There wasnāt much going on either, properly as it was near the end of the season. Bahia Feliz is a cheerful resort with friendly people everywhere. One of the favourite parts of the holiday was the Jeep Safari trip into Gran Canaria, we explored the rocky, arid terrain of the south, or the more lush, fertile north. The whole resort is shaded with palm trees and there is water fountains on the streets, get ready for a soaking! The food is very tasty and very cheap too, and the beer is nice a cool, just how it should be. It was very easy to relax here; it was very homely and welcoming. The sand dunes are a perfect place to relax as well with the sea breeze keeping you cool. I love Bahia Feliz.Costa Blanca, Spain Fun Fun Fun Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Neemisha Date of travel: 12/08/2007

This was my first time to Benidorm, it's my boyfriends 3rd and he really enjoys it. So did I when I arrived. From day 1 there was activities going on, the reps gave you a tour of the resort and then you have a talk about things going on and if you want to join on in etc, but me and my boyfriend did our own thing. We planned our own day but never kept to it though! We did plenty of sunbathing and swimming. The Aqua Park was cool and the aquarium was good as well. Iām a big fish fan, so the snorkelling was a big hit. Our hotel the Presidente hotel was tall; thank god we were based on the 4th floor. There were also loads of other hotels close by which sometimes spoiled the view and blocked the sun too on a number of occasions. Great nightlife, some top bars, disco bars and clubs etc, but with just the 2 of us we sometimes got a bit bored as everyone were in groups or families and there is only so much you can do. But we both enjoyed our selves though that was the main thing.Tias, Lanzarote, Spain Tias is a Beautiful Resort! Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Lee Date of travel: 21/07/2007
Tias is a quiet area of Lanzarote, nice for just chilling and catching a nice sun tan by the pool. The pool was small but pretty, oyster shape with palm trees all round it. The Kon-Tiki Club apartments werenāt big either, but they are kept very clean and tidy. The reception desk is very helpful, your never kept waiting and the service was very good. The beach was just round the corner from the hotel and across a small road, it wasn't busy and it's safe too. The beach went on for miles, the sea was a lovely blue colour and the views were stunning. It was a very relaxing place, bunch of great people too, everyone were very friendly. The Tias on the waterfront bar is a great night spot, huge bay windows onto the beach, itās amazing. And there is also a nightclub for the party goers called the ManRay, I was told itās a great place to party but Iām past all that so Iāll leave it to the youngsters.Bahia Feliz, Gran Canaria, Spain Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Stacey Date of travel: 16/08/2006
Bahia Feliz is fairly quiet but has amazing views. Using local transport such as buses is conveniant and quick to get to nearby resorts such as playa de ingles. The bus journey to porta reco takes a little while from Bahia feliz but is worth the journey as there are a lot of shops there, a lovely beach and a few english pubs.
The only down side to Bahia Feliz is the volcanic sand on the beaches (it is a dark grey colour) Apart from that my whole family had a very relaxing holiday.S'algar, Menorca, Spain Good all Rounder! Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Gareth Date of travel: 23/09/2006
S'algar is a nice place and the hotel was in a nice location, not so far from the beach. The Hotel Club San Luis pool area was lovely and very welcoming with a nice pool side snack bar and drinks area. Very clean hotel, very big and spacious, restaurant was great, service was good and the hotel staff were brilliant. The beach area is beautiful; the sea was rough at times, good for wind surfing though. Plenty of restaurants, cocktail bars and shops about and the evening entertainment is very wild. Majorca is very over rated. It's not ever going to compare to Ibiza or Marbella but it does have some great places to party though. I normally go to Ibiza but I was told to try Majorca as they know how to throw a party but it does not compare one tiny bit. Nice resort though, more for the younger generation, families would feel left out as it's full of young kids drinking and shouting.Puerto de Santiago, Tenerife, Spain We Both Enjoyed It!!!! Did not enjoy it at all. It did not have much to offer that I could not have seen at home. Too little in the way of bars and restaurants. The ones that we did visit were nice but they were too much like home. Where is the authenticity? We choose a smaller resort because we thought that it would be more old time and authentic but no. Way too commercial. The beach was not even in our resort but in the one next door. And if that was not terrible enough the rocks and sand were hard to walk and sit on. The black sand was very pretty but come middle of the day you felt like you were walking on coals.Lanzarote - Other, Lanzarote, Spain Lanzarote is My Second Home! Lanzarote is my second home these days, itās very peaceful and the local people are very approachable and easy to talk to, they also understand English but not 100% though but it's good enough so it makes you more comfortable. The Hotel Lancelot where I stayed is located 2 minutes from the beach but itās not a very busy tourist area, itās quite secluded to a certain extent. The weather is wonderful; as the beach is so close you catch the sea breeze coming through your hotel room so itās easier to relax, plus the A/C helps too. There is a few local bars, some very loud and some that are very chilled so you can hold down a decent conversation. And the livelier bars and club are more in the centre of the resort. The food is nice, getting more British each year though. Over all, itās still a wonderful place.Benalmadena, Costa del Sol, Spain Nice Resort! It has only been 3 weeks since my girlfriend and I have been in Puerto De Santiago, and we have holiday sickness already. We miss it like mad!!!! We had an amazing time there as it was very peaceful and calm. There was not much to do for those who were there for loud times and dancing in the streets but for us who needed to get away, it was nirvana. Oh how she painted undisturbed and fully focused. She was able to concentrate fully on her work because she was so calm. I was able to write music on Los Gigantes beach to the sun set and rise. The shops in the town had nice items and people would also sell homemade treats. We bought bags of the āgalletasā cookies from a little old lady. It was funny to see amidst this quiet area cabaret acts at some of the bars. They were quite good especially for this town and my girlfriend enjoyed it too. Very pleasant town and people. Very pleasant time and holiday. Ibiza - Other, Ibiza, Spain Go Ibiza Go Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Toby Date of travel: 29/07/2007
When I announced that I was going to Spain everyone told me that I should try to take a trip to Ibiza. They said it was the ultimate party island and take my word for it, they were right. I had the time of my life on that island. It was even better because 6 of my best friends came with me. Music playing from sun up to sun down on the street, in the stores, at the bars, in the hotel, and of course in the bars. Wonderful, amazing, fabulous, phenomenal, fantastic thrilling time. The food was superb and the drinks even better. Surprising to me they had fun and loud hotels and quiet ones away from the main area. We opted to stay in the quiet area because people can party just so much. It was a little further out but was nice and inexpensive. From the moment we stepped off of the plane we felt the energy in the atmosphere. Pure fun and fantastic time. Amazing restaurants will food that woke up the taste buds. Plenty of places to shop for clothes and swimwear. And the beachesā¦the beachesā¦sweet beachesā¦.party central. Lots of room to swim on the water and dance in the sand. Tiny with only a small hint of noise. Incredible place to catch up on sleepā¦not many disruptions or distractions. Many hills so when I wanted to move around and get about we had the challenge of the hills. They made you work to get place to place and your body felt very good afterwards. Nice too many bars but a great selection with friendly people. For times when the brain desired noise and the body wanted music we took the mere 15 minute walk Gigantes which is much more animated. Our hotel was in a great part of town close to everything and not a bad walk up the hill. It was sad that there was no beach in Santiago but there was a very nice one in Gigantes. I would have much rather used the beach time to relax and have it be right outside of the hotel but we took taxis during that time which proved to be cheap. I was happy that it was always clean and people we too embarrassed to throw anything down and litter. Will go again for quiet times but will choose a hotel closer to Gigantes and the beach. Nice place but would not like to visit again. Somewhat clean and nice beach but there was a weird smell in the resort. Some of the streets were dirty and I did not like the attitudes of some of the vendors. People dumb rubbish along the street instead of using bins which made the street vendors have to work that much harder. People smoked everywhere including the bars (this is illegal to smoke indoors) and if the owner was not smoking himself, he still did not make the others stop. And when we complained they simply looked at us as if we were crazy. There was not much variety of entertainment but what they offered was of much value. At night the beach was picture perfect and some of the restaurants would play music as you ate by the light of the moon. It had it good parts but many bad parts as well. Once in a lifetime is good enough for me.Salou, Costa Dorada, Spain Great Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Joe Date of travel: 15/06/2007
Was a great place to visit on the whole. My teen cousins loved the Portaventura themed park because of the great rides and the food and we loved it because they were exhausted and wanted to sleep after they came home. They could not stop talking about the big wave machine that would make the water rippled every 15minutes and how they challenged every wave that came their way. The whole family loved the resort because it offered much on the side of entertainment and food. What brought us a little concern was that there were too many main roads to cross with plenty of traffic so we had to keep a special eye on the little ones. Salou had a fantastic beach with weather that remained beautiful throughout our stay. We were able to jump over to Barcelona for cheap and eat tapas along the beach shore. In Salou itself the town was lovely. There were lots of bars and pubs to eat. Not too many night clubs (so we could monitor the teens) buy there were comedy clubs, magic shows, hypnotists and live music. The pool wasn't very big, in fact quite small considering the size of the hotel. That was our only disappointment. Great beaches that stretch for miles so you can enjoy a family stroll and stop of at the bars and restaurants along the way. The kids enjoyed the banana boats while myself and my wife relaxed on the beach. In the evening the hotel put on a few family treats and there was enjoyment to be had out side the resort too so you wasnāt stuck to one place.Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, Spain Puerto Rico Fun Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Jackson Date of travel: 12/12/2005
Our apartments were at top of a hill in sight of everything. It was nice to be able to look out of your room window or the windows in the lobby and see all of the nature and places to go. The water park is worlds of fun. It is only 10 minutes by walking and well worth the walk. The beach is 10 minutes farther than that but when walking with others it did not feel that far at all. The food was great but we lost a lot of weight by walking up to the apartments and to the other destinations. Taxis and buses are good prices but we much rather walked because it was nice to look around. Our nights were packed full of excitement and dancing. Many of the bars served one Euro drinks every night and burgers and chips for less than 4 Euro. At each bar there was some entertaining thing to do like a karaoke contest, dancing celebration, or all you can eat wings for a low price.
When we wanted to go American we ate at Mc Donaldās and conversed with our fellow tourists. For the rest of the time we remained Spaniard tourists shopping on the strip, practicing the language and spending time relaxing by the bay.

I was not very impressed at all. Golf Del Sur was under construction and the resort was a total tip, it was a building site. Literally. When I arrived I stayed there for 2 days maximum and I was so fed up of the noise that I had to travel back home, for the first time in my life I can honestly say that I was glad to be back in the UK. I got a refund from the tour operator and I also made a complaint too as I was told that the resort had just been completed and that I would really enjoy my stay. To be fair, a couple of friends of mine traveled there a couple of years back and said they had a really good time, they also told me that there was going to be a revamp but nothing this extravagant. Beautiful beach that is far away from the noise and danger traffic. Nice cool water with gentle waves. The views from the port were stunning and if you walk off onto a boat prepare to have your breath knocked out of you from the sights. Another place for fantastic sights was the nature reserves, the towns, and the villages. All so wonderful and green and soft. Nature at its best untainted or touched by industry. The shops were very nice and you can get deals if you are nice to the vendors. The Tapas bars were superb and served the best tortilla and croquettes. We bought extra so that we could eat them later in the hotel. I especially liked the flamenco and salsa shows. The dancers were full of life and energy and we got close seats, the night of the show, for very cheap. We definitely want to make it a tradition to come back every couple of years. Our hotel was splendid and told us that if we continue to return that they will give us discounts each and every time. We gave many of the staff members hugs when we left because we bonded so well.
We will come back for the food and the fun and the service and the sun and the clubs and the bars, and the atmosphere and the shops. Estartit is an amazing place for most everyone.

I would highly recommend that you get at least 10 hours of sleep a day a week before you go to Ibiza because you wonāt be sleeping throughout your holiday in the party capital of the world. We literally spent all our time hopping form clubs to club and even from resort to resort only stopping for a few hours at the beach to catch some sun, this is the only way to do Ibiza, it will give you such a buzz and you will have no concept of time make sure you are able to take a few days to rest when you get back as you will need to adjust back to your regular routine. It depends on what part of Tossa de Mar you end up really, but I got a nice and quiet area which is what I was hoping for. My hotel was in the middle of everything, bars, shops, the beach, restaurants and supermarkets. The beach was very peaceful; the water sports were at the other end of the beach so there was the fun area and the quieter area too. Everyone is happy then. There were some great restaurants to dine in, you could choose from a selection of fish and meats etc and not to pricy either. I come to Gran Canaria every year and it never changes, in a good way that is of course. But the hotel we stayed in this year was amazing, the pool was on the roof and the view was absolutely wonderful. You could see for miles and the beach looked beautiful. There was a selection of fresh fruit and bottles of chilled water to help yourself to which was a good gesture. There was also a gym, sauna, steam room, cocktail bar, restaurant plus many other great facilities included. Through out the day there was a wide selection of activities going on so that kept you busy until the evening. One of my favorite bars was the Bachira which had live music and pole dancers, and there was a club called Heaven, that brought back some memories of when I was in my twenties. Itās a lively and fun resort, can be noisy at times but thatās expected where ever you go. There was a curly slide in the pool area which was great fun, so there was no need for the aqua park, yeah right! That was fun. The Balzac restaurant was varied, with live music while you eat and there were dancers too. A really good choice for food and drinks as well. All I got to say about Costa de Almeria is it was a varied holiday, things to do, not to loud or in your face type resort. Water sports must have been thought of there because it hosted just about any sport. Fantastic supermarket in the resort that had food, clothes, and souvenirs. In many of the other shops around you can bargain hunt and get all sorts of things for cheap. Food was good and fresh seafood everywhere. So fresh that we had to ask for more lemon because we had never tasted anything like that before. For the best holiday opportunity of your entire lifetime you must go to Playa de las Americas. We had the most incredible time, so much so that we did not want to leave. The thing that we were looking most is that I would have great entertainment and things that would let us be free and have amazing fun and we got that and so much more. All of the clubs and shows and parties were near our hotel. We danced and met other people from all over the place. We laughed so much that our bellies hurt at the comic club and we sang in front of everyone at the bar karaoke contest. Playa de las Americas was perfect for anyone at anytime. My boyfriend and I saw families with small children dancing at night time in bay view and bottoms up. We spotted older couples along the walkways hand in hand. The cutest thing was this older gentleman pushing his wife in her wheel chair. Las Americas was wheelchair friendly as well.
Lunch, dinner, brunch, or midnight snack at anytime there was something to eat available. The food was amazing and the so called high end food was not that expensive. Marioās was Vincentās favorite place to eat and I favored the George as it was the nicest pub with the best food and drink. We fancied the beach and lying on the sand. It was nice seeing people out there are skis and there were places where we rented cheap sail boats. On the harbour we shopped and ate and watched out over the resort. Los Cristianos was next door and as a couple we had a great time by the moonlight. The must do is the water park with the big slides and relaxing pond. For the best eats Bentleys is a great treat. Hope to see you there on our next holiday.

Nice little resort for the family. We went two years and all aspects were superb. The beach was large and the water was warm. Our family took jogs together and ate most meals together as well (which is very rare for us). There was a mapped out hike through the mountains that was not too long or hard on the bodies. I tripped along one of the paths and my brother and dad had a laugh about it every chance that they got. Our hotel was very pretty and had an attentive staff. The food delightful and a wonderful treat after all of our busy or relaxing days. My mums favorite part of the holiday was the pine walk at dusk. The colors and the climate change at that time of night made her very happy and fall even more in love than she was before.Puerto Pollensa, Majorca, Spain Our Honeymoon Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Kelly Date of travel: 31/01/2007
The prettiest resort on the north coast. I told husband (new one at the time) to surprise me by picking the perfect honeymoon spot. I know that the pressure must have been heavy on the poor guy but he did a great job. The resort was pretty, clean, and looked like the perfect picture out of a honeymoon guide. There were plenty of restaurants and bars and some were even on the water. We ate our first lunch as husband and wife on a boat floating in the water. The beach was lovely and there were often people playing games on the sand. The area was not touristy at all so the hotel staff killed themselves to make sure we were having a great time and we did not hear annoying complaints from fellow guests. To add some spice from our food, relaxation, and romantic fun a member of the staff recommended that we should hire a car to go up to Formentor. That was wonderful advice and we enjoyed every part of a relaxing drive and fun time in Formentor.
In the resort it was unique but appreciated to see white sand surrounded by big mountains. We laid on the sand since the sun loungers were expensive but the sand was so very soft that we did not mind. The shopping was nice and cheap so I found many things to bring back to our families. The town was beautiful and quaint and the people were just as nice there as on the resort. Lots of family owned small businesses who offered large quantities of food for small pay. I thanked my husband for weeks for the best honeymoon imaginable.

You cannot find one fault with the humungous beaches in Jandia they are absolutely brilliant, you will be able to relax on the nice soft sand or enjoy a few water sport activities. The beach is where you will find most people hang around however make sure you get to the tax-free shops close by and pick up some great bargains. If you fancy a day away from the beach you can make a short journey to the Jandia National Park. All in all Jandia is the perfect holiday destination and I will definitely be going back at some point to enjoy some more relaxing days on that wonderful beach!Puerto del Carmen, Lanzarote, Spain Our personal Spring Break Site Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Andy Date of travel: 20/03/2007
The best spring break site in the entire Universe. Endless places to eat and dance for very cheap and all of them open late and very close to the hotel. El Puerto Del Carmen was so popular that loads of taxis from other resorts brought people over to have fun times as well. We swam at the beach and had an amazing time in the water parks. Since the beach was only have minutes down the road we were there from morning until night. I snorkeled against my will for the very first time and then begged to continue going after that. The fish swam right next to you. Schools of them all in different colors. After long nights at the discos we were given full English breakfasts in the restaurants for really good prices. The old town was great too. We ate at the harbor overlooking the water and book cheap boat trips on the spot. The boats were good size and took you to see all of the sights on the water. We went twice, one time at night and one time during the day. At night the lights reflect perfectly on the dark water. My anal retentive mate thought that it was wonderful that the resort was always clean and you saw workers cleaning up at random times during the day. All in all everything about the trip was perfect and aside from those of you reading this review, it is our little secret spring break stop.Matagorda, Lanzarote, Spain All in One Neighborbood Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Bessie Date of travel: 19/02/2007
We loved it hands down. A brilliant experience all of the way. The food was amazing and we went to a different location for every lunch and dinner. The hotel was perfect and the staff was the nicest staffs that I have seen in a long time. There was so much to do and to see and not enough time to do everything that we wanted to. The promenades on which to walk offered the most beautiful sites. We watched airplanes land only a few steps from us and admired the perfect landings. The harbor was quiet and romantic and the perfect spot for my husband and me to relax during our quiet time. For the more loud and animated nights we made our way to Puerta Del Carmen. We took cheap taxis there and back and danced all night. Carmen also had great food choices and wonderful people. Back at our resort we recovered from those long nights at our resort in our comfortable rooms. Our resort did offer shopping choices but we found better ones next door in Arrecife. We will definitely be back to Matagorda next holiday. It offers peace and quiet with fun and shopping mere minutes away.Golf Del Sur, Tenerife, Spain Wait Til Construction is Over Rating: 4/10 Submitted by: Viviana Date of travel: 23/05/2007
Golf Del Sur made for a quite disappointing holiday. It was undergoing much development which caused rubbish and building pieces to be all over the place. The construction made it look very dirty and if the repairs and makeovers were going to be so extensive they should have closed it down. The work left us not much to do besides golf so we hired a car so to get away from the stress and boredom. Luckily we had the mountains as refuge and we spent a great amount of time there. We also visited the beach that was close by and that also improved our holiday. There was no construction there and it was clean. There was a much better range of restaurants and bars. The water park at Las Americas was the topper as we were able to see a dolphin show and slide down water slides. No one should really go to Golf Del Sur until all of the construction is done. We spent most of our holiday avoiding our holiday destination of choice.Sitges, Costa Brava, Spain Go with your mates! Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Sherry Date of travel: 12/05/2006

Es Cana was a nice and relaxing holiday. A typical holiday for me is to relax, have fun and be merry! The Hotel Miami is not what it sounds tbh, if youāre looking at the hotel head on you would think youāre in the rough end of Miami or LA, inside its clean but it's not like a palace. There is a small reception area, small bar and restaurant and a small sweets shop and the rest is the hotel rooms. I was happy though. The beach is a 10 minutes walk and the pool is not actually with in the hotel its self, its next to the hotel by it's self and any one can use it as well. The night life lived up to my expectations though, the bars were buzzing and the atmosphere was great, it was like Las Vegas, all the bars were lit up. The entire tourist was very friendly and outgoing and the locals were also very helpful and pleasant to talk to as well. It had that holiday feeling, it doesnāt have to be 5 star or 1st class service, itās the friendly people and the great atmosphere what makes it a good holiday. The Costa del Sol was cool, I went with my mum, dad, brother and sister and all we did mostly was hit the pool or go to the beach. It was nice and hot, I got a top sun tan but our hotel was small especially with 5 people cramped in there. Me and my sister would go on little walks and explore the resort, we would come across small villages, with narrow streets and weād sneak off to the theme park and go on the rides. One of the days we all went to this water park, it wasn't big but it was fun, I went in a rock pool where you could climb the rocks as far as you could and jump in the water below. My sister went down this huge slide and when she got to the bottom her bikini top was hanging off, hahahaha funny! And the wave pool was cool 2, the waves were huge and sucked you under, that was scary at times. We also went into Costa del Sol centre and went and explored the castles, there was a few cannons and other ancient history stuff there as well, I had my picture taken when I was sat on one of the cannons with my sister, then we would go and have some lunch in the cafĆ©ās built in the grounds. In the evening we would all go to a few of the family bars and watch the entertainment that was on. There was a big thunder storm one day, the whole resort was flooded, it reminded me of the UK, but that was soon forgotten when the sun eventually came out again and we could all go back to the pool and have fun. I enjoyed it. It's mainly a family and couples holiday, it's not your typical group holiday at all.Alcudia, Majorca, Spain Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Frank Date of travel: 14/07/2007

Javea is a wonderful place, the scenery is breath taking and the greatest attraction was the Elephant Mountain with out a doubt. Have a few glasses of wine and see for your self! But you have to see it to believe it. In the morning I would pass through Javea and wander round and admire the whitewashed buildings with gothic features. The gothic Church of San Bartolome is a great attraction. The Parador de Javea hotel is where I stayed and the hotel is right on the beach, there is a wall that divides the hotel and the beach but once you step outside of the hotel the beach is right there and it was beautiful, crystal blue sea and soft white sand. There were hundreds of restaurants and bars along the strip, a selection of fish, Italian and takeaway restaurants. You can't beat the night life either, it give's Ibiza a run for its money. I stayed in a caravan with 2 other friends, we weren't bothered about an apartment or a posh hotel as we was out most of the day anyway. We would venture back to the caravan park about 6pm for dinner and to get ready for the night and that was it, oh and to sleep of course! There was a pool area in the park with a bar; it was a huge caravan park, not a gypsy type though. There was also a small shop where you could buy the basic food and drinks and there was also a reception area as well. Out side of the caravan park you would come to more shops, and some restaurants selling, meat etc. The beach from the park was 10 minute walk and you also had to cross a small road, it wasn't busy. There were no sun beds or brollies and the sand was on fire, you had to sprint for the sea to cool down. There were a few food huts that sold chips, burgers etc and cold drinks and the usual toilets etc. You had to walk further down the resort to find all the main restaurants, shops, bars etc and it was very entertaining in the evening too, the whole streets were packed with tourists, locals etc. You could hardly move. What a great place, you have to see it for your self to believe the beauty of it. Top bunch of locals and there were some great market stalls for buying stuff. I love shopping; I found plenty of presents for everyone back home. The people love a good old haggle too, I got a pair of shoes for 40 euros that should of been 65 euros, I though that was good going for me. The hotel we stayed at was small, but clean so thatās all that mattered. I would take a tour of the old villages that were a few miles from the resort; people were still living in some of the old run down buildings. Itās amazing what you come across. The beach is nice and sandy, with clean calm sea, you could take a boat ride round the island but I never bothered as I was to busy enjoying my own tours. I would walk along the beach front, I also came across a huge rocky mountain what you cold dive off into the sea, scary but fun. It's worth a second visit.Lanzarote, Spain Perfect as always! I took my family here to Lanzarote, we have been before but to a different resort. We stayed at the Playa Flamingo Apartments. They were very bright, clean and airy, with A/C which is a bonus because most apartments don't have those kinds of facilities. If you want to relax and catch the sun with out any disturbances then head to the beach, itās very relaxing and peaceful and beautiful as well. There is a beach bar and restaurant so you have everything you need for the day. I would say that the night life is a bit too loud for me, you could hear the music from the apartment room and some nights it would be difficult to get to sleep. And some times you would also get the odd person making loads of noise as they come back from a night out. We went to see the castle and ruins in the centre of Lanzarote, now I like this kind of thing but itās not everyone's cup of tea. The theme park is great for kids; and the grown ups! My hotel was great, it was huge, and I was on the 1st floor though so I never got to see everything. The hotel was like a palace, inside there were greenery and plants every where, absolutely gorgeous. There was an acrobatic evening and people singing while playing on the piano while guest dined. The view was so fantastic, you had the pool and the ocean, it was unbelievable but it was true. I am totally still in shock of how beautiful the hotel was; there was a casino inside too. What wasn't there?! The entertainment out side of the hotel was also great, live music, stand up comedians and disco bars. A group of us went to Talamanca in Ibiza, not far from Ibiza town. We were in the Hotel Argos, which was plush with marble floors etc. In fact we were very surprised that it was the quieter part of Ibiza we stay; we wanted rock n roll and night long. But we made the most of the experience though, if we stayed in Ibiza town itself we would have not got a nice hotel like the one we stayed in so we can't moan. We would go and sunbath on the beach which was 2 foot from the hotel anyway and there was some water sports, 5 of us on a pedal boat with a slide on the back, mad as! We would also have a boat race, at 2 miles an hour, my legs were killing! We also tried a bit of snorkeling but it gets boring after a while, only so much you can do. We took the ferry to Ibiza town in the evening so w could party, but it finishes as midnight so we either had to walk back at 3am in the morning or get the last ferry home. The sea view from the bedroom balcony was fantastic, the sea was also very shallow as well, and you could see the corals and rocks at the bottom, it was beautiful. There were a few bars but they werenāt banging with loud music, so you could have a proper conversation. The food was good, usual stuff like, chicken, fish, burgers, jack pots etc and not very pricy either like some resorts. Nuevo Horizonte was a mediocre resort that was close to many other lovable holiday places. The resort at times was unbearably quiet so we had to get out. It was only a £2.50 ride by taxi to Caleta de Fuste and Corralejo. Caleta de Fuste was stunning and the beaches on Corralejo are marvelous. In Nuevo Horizante the beaches were pretty because of the rocks instead of the sand, but difficult to walk on. At night there were only two places of entertainment and once you visited those you became slightly bored. We stayed in the La Pyramide apartments which were well furnished but the building looked like it needed some work done on it. Most times that we jumped on the free bus that took us to the Caleta de Fuste resort for more food and entertainment options. During our late nights we took taxis back. I went to Puerto Banus three summers in a row as I had such a good time. The beach is great - nice sand, not too crowded - with loads of beach bars for cocktails and seriously tasty food on offer(fresh seafood barbecued was particularly good). On the main strip there are lots of lively bars and a good mix of restaurants to match all budgets. While there is the odd tacky English pub, in general Banus is pretty upmarket with evidence of wealth everywhere (huge boats moored offshore, sports cars everywhere, high end shops) but is not snooty and has a laid back atmosphere. Costa Blanca has always been my favorite holiday destination. It has the friendliest local people, lively bars, nice sandy beaches and comfortable hotels. I've also stayed in the same hotel for the past 4 years now, (Magic Rock Gardens Hotel) itās worth a look. If youāre unfit though then ask for a ground floor room as the hotel is huge! I have met a few friends here which make coming back here every year a treat. Twiggyās cocktail bar is so much fun; they have fish bowls and buy one get one free offers. Plus there are a few men who juggle fire sticks in there hands on the stage, which is pretty good. The bar closes as 2am and if you wanted you can go to the night clubs (Hard Rock CafĆ©) & TX club which stay open till 6am in the morning. Bit much for me. Plus the bar is close to the hotel so its not far to walk once Iāve had enough. When you arrive you will not want to leave.S'algar, Menorca, Spain Good holiday. Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Larry Date of travel: 21/06/2007
I went to S'algar with my wife and stayed in the S'algar hotel. The room was clean and airy, there was no tea or coffee making facilities, very surprising as this is a common treat in every hotel you stay in. We asked for a double bed but got twin beds, the kitchen had no fridge which was strange, so we could not by the usual appliances. We asked for a fridge but we had to pay an extra fee which was ridiculous. That was my only disappointment with the hotel. The pool side was spacious, with a bar and food area, plus there was music playing through out the day but it got annoying after a while so that's where the beach came in handy. Although I found that if you never got to the beach at a decent time you could not get a decent spot. The resort was big, with local swimming pools you could go to but we felt out of place and there were bars and restaurants, with football playing constantly which was good. We would go back but to a different hotel and we would go when its not to busy either. Overall it was a good holiday.Punta Prima, Menorca, Spain Fridndly locals and nice beach Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Courtney Date of travel: 20/04/2006
I came here (Punta Prima) with my 2 best friends and we found the hotel (Sur Menorca Hotel) reasonable. The staff was friendly but not always there to help if you needed them, the food was basic, buffet and burgers, same thing everyday really which got boring. Hotel entertainment was ok when it got going but it wasn't constant. The resort was small (ish) had the basic bars, restaurants, shops, doctors, safe deposit departments, hire shops, supermarkets and off licenses. But they were all cramped together making it look untidy. There was plenty to do in the day and evening but I found it very pricy. The beach was nice though, very relaxing and full of friendly locals and tourists. It wasn't a bad resort but after a while the same thing can get annoying.Es Castell, Menorca, Spain Didn't spend much time outside the hotel⦠Business meetings. The Agamenon hotel was fabulous, it was over looking the harbor which is beautiful and the pool was amazing. Freshly cleaned everyday and the hotel were cleaned twice a day ready for new arrivals and VIP's. I was on business trip with my boss so I got to enjoy 1st class, but only in a business way though. I had room service most evenings and then I would have a business lunch with my boss in the hotel restaurant. There was an indoor heated swimming pool and bar and there was the spa as well, I enjoyed an Indian massage, lovely. I never got to do much touring of the complex as I was very busy with my clients arrange deals but what I saw of the resort, I could not fault it. The weather was beautiful and the local people were very generous and polite. I have booked another holiday to the same hotel and resort but this time I will be there to enjoy myself with my family and get to explore the beach and have a laugh..Ciudadela, Menorca, Spain Top class holiday. Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Katherine Date of travel: 24/05/2006
Me, my sister, my best friend and my aunt all went to Ciudadela and stayed at the Esmeralda Hotel. It was spectacular to but it bluntly. The reception was like a 5 star service in a Hilton Hotel in London but this was a 3 star and gave 5 star hotels a run for there money. The room had its own mini bar and it wasn't that expensive either, quite reasonable. There were 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, lounge and balcony with a view to the pool. You also had a TV that had BBC and SKY plus you had movie channels too. And there was late night service if you fancied a night in, the hotel bar would bring your food and drinks to your room, how cool is that. The pool was always busy but it was big enough and we met a few people who were cool, and we all got a nice tan as well. There wasn't much entertainment in the hotel but there were hundreds of pubs along the resort and the clubs were just round the block. I enjoyed the Babylon bar where you could get 2 drinks for the price of 1 and the music was spot on, plus the owner and the staff was English so you felt at home.Son Xoriguer, Menorca, Spain small but nice Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Lucy Date of travel: 13/05/2005
Although this is a small resort it is one of the most tranquil places you will ever find for a quite and relaxing holiday. The beach is where you want to spend the bulk of your time as there is plenty to do with a wide range of water activities like water-skiing, parasailing and many others. When you are tired of the beach head into town and check out the bars and restaurants for a relaxing evening out. Son Parc, Menorca, Spain Golf-a-lot Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Andrew Date of travel: 02/09/2006
This is where you will find all the golfers and I can say that with so much confidence because Son Parc is the only place that has a golf course in Menorca where there is splendid greenery and a nice course to improve your handicap. All those that don't want to golf but are stuck in Son Parc can head to the other great feature of the resort which is the beach. Relax in the wonderful clean sandy beach and watch the calm and gentle waters whilst sipping a cocktail or reading a book. Menorca is a fantastic holiday destination with a lot to offer apart from the the wonderful weather. No matter what resort you stay at are more less guaranteed 3 things on your visit and they are sun, sand and sea. We did resort hopping and stayed at a couple of resorts for a couple of days each and the verdict is that there is a resort perfect fro anyone and everyone in Menorca. There are quite resorts for those that don't like to be in a noisy environment and there are party resorts where there is a vibrant atmosphere and lots of bars and clubs to enjoy.Son Bou, Menorca, Spain Huge beach Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Gemma Date of travel: 18/06/2006
If you want beach life then Son Bou is the place to be, the beach is absolutely massive and very clean as well. I would go out on a limb and say it's probably the biggest beach in Menorca and if its not is certainly feels like it is. There are some nice and decent bars and restaurants around the resort to unwind during the evenings. Apart from the nice beach and a few bars there is not much by the way of activites and entertainment but if you are there for a beach holiday then you don't need anything else!Santo Tomas, Menorca, Spain Splendid holiday Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Keith Date of travel: 02/07/2007
The Santo Tomas resorts is ideal for the older couples and families which made it perfect for me and my wife as we are retired and enjoying our twilight years. I must say that Santo Tomas was an excellent resort with a nice and quite atmosphere and it's not as loud as some of the more youthful resorts in Spain. The people are very friendly and there are two same shopping centres where you can get most of your essentials. We will definitely be going back next year.Cal'n Porter, Menorca, Spain Nice anniversary gift. Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Fredrick Date of travel: 16/10/2006
I took my wife to Cal'n Porter for our 10th anniversary and we truly enjoyed it. We wanted some piece and quiet so we booked this getaway as a present to both of us. The hotel catered for my wife who has a bad hip, we were on the 1st floor and we had our own balcony with a view of the garden. We would walk to the beach and relax by the sea and enjoy the time we spent together. We are not big drinkers but there was a wide selection of pubs to choose from, one bar we enjoyed was called Co co's, with cheap ales and lagers and a rest area next to the window with a fantastic view of the resort, but in the evening it was a wild place to drink. The food was delicious too. Best grub I?ve had in a long while. Don't mention that to my wife though.Cala'n Forcat, Menorca, Spain Great family holiday. Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Shirley Date of travel: 02/08/2006
I took my family to Cala'n Forcat on a last minute deal and expected what I paid for. But how wrong was I? The hotel was very spacious with a gym, sauna and steam room plus the restaurant, BBQ area, games room and a bar as well. I was well gob smacked with what I got. The pool was fantastic; there was a smaller pool for the kids and the larger pool for the adults. We were there everyday in the same spot. The kids enjoyed the aqua park so that was a bonus, they wasn't moaning they was bored all the time. Then we took them to the fun park, where they enjoyed the bouncy castles, trampolines and swings. The beach was magnificent, I?ve been to a few beaches in my time but this one was like a paradise, beautiful golden sand, calm blue sea, boat rides and snorkeling and sun loungers with there own little table which was nice. In the evening we would go out as a family and go to the park and enjoy the rides then we would head back to the resort and have a drink while we watch the stand up comedians. It was fantastic and we really enjoyed out selves.Cala'n Bosch, Menorca, Spain Priceless Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Nancy Date of travel: 09/06/2006
Cala'n Bosch Hotel is everything you could ask for. Nice pool, friendly atmosphere, hotel bar/restaurant, in house entertainment, spacious room and very clean and welcoming. The resort was very nice, palm trees everywhere, supermarkets, off license, shops, bars and restaurants, plus motor bike shops where you could hire a bike for the day and tattoo parlors as well. The beach was a 5 minutes walk away, full of friendly locals and a few bars along the beach front, the waves were priceless, very powerful, knocked me over a few times when I tried to have a paddle. I would go back again.Cala'n Blanes, Menorca, Spain It was alright I suppose. Rating: 5/10 Submitted by: Heather Date of travel: 07/10/2006
I went to Cala'n Blanes with my sister and her best friend and we weren't impressed. The hotel was a dive, the pool was grotty and the beach was UN cared for, it had rubbish every where and the locals were very rude too. The night life was a little better, with live music and karaoke bars, and there was a famous dj party at one of the local clubs which was good but it was expensive to get in, but we had nothing better to do so it was a good bargain in my eyes. I would not go back to that exact same resort, so I don't rule it out altogether..Cala Santandria, Menorca, Spain Great location. Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: William Date of travel: 08/04/2007
Me and my mates stayed at the Sa Punta apartments in the resort of Cala Santandria. The hotel was basic, clean and had everything we needed. We was out most of the day and night so all we needed was a bed and shower, we got that so we was happy. As soon as you came out of the apartment you could see the beach and the smell of food on the way to the beach was mouth watering. So we would nip into the food parlor and tuck into a bacon sarnie, mmmmm nice. Anyway back to the holiday. Yeah for me it was everything I was looking for, it has a beach, bars, restaurants and clubs, oh and the usual food and clothes shops. There wasn't much I could have asked for; the pool on the other hand was small and never cleaned so we never bothered. But other than that, I would say go for it.Cala Galdana, Menorca, Spain It's my 2nd home! Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Russel Date of travel: 20/04/2007
I like Cala Galdana, i've been coming here for the past 3 years and it's still got that holiday feeling year after year, I still get really excited too when I land and arrive at my hotel. The beach is where I do all my sunbathing and eyeing up the chicks! The sea can be rough at time but other times its really calm, but there is always a breeze which is refreshing. Every year I always buy lilo from the same old shop, and i've got to know the keeper quite well. The resort has the usual bars, restaurants, shops, cafe's and there are also a few clubs too, but there always busy so I don't bother with them. But I have heard there good though.Camp De Mar, Majorca, Spain The Perfect Setting Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Travis Date of travel: 01/04/2007
I have been close to my best friend since our University days but for two years we lost touch. During that time I missed her horribly. After much research for the perfect holiday place that would give a quiet romantic place to tell her how I feel, I chose Camp de Mar. Located on the south-west coast of Mallorca, it was away from the distractions of work and friends. It was beautiful, clean and there were not many people there. It made me feel good to see more locals than tourists because the beaches were more open and the restaurants would cater to you as if you were family. We stayed in the 4 star The Playa that had the best service and work ethic imaginable. We went around the resort to shop and meet people in the villas. On the beach in the moonlight I arranged a dinner on the sand with the resort restaurant. The waiters and the owners go above and beyond for customers. They brought out a table closer to the water and allowed us to order and eat their food on the beach. It was very magical. On our fourth night there I told her that I could not keep up the charade any longer. I explained that there was no contest and that I brought her there to tell her that I loved her. The rest of the days on the resort we spent as a couple. Walking hand in hand through the Spa supermarket and enjoying each others company in the quaint friendly bars. We went touring and exploring and snorkeling. Our holiday was not full of big attractions or museums. Instead it was full of romance with the help of those on the resort. Puerto Pollensa, Majorca, Spain The Personification of Peace Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Taqueria Date of travel: 07/04/2007
Puerto Pollensa has to be one of the prettiest resorts on the north coast. It gently curves around the bay and stands in front of the Sierra Traumontana Mountains. Puerto Pollensa is the home of server villages and sights. It does not do as much as its neighbors to attract the average tourist bunch put is a great place to carry your family and a close group of old friends. The beaches are natural without the overload of newly brought over sand for an artificial experience. The beach has the sand AND pebbles and is not overrun by night clubs or annoyingly loud drunk foreigners. Puerto Pollensa always had this air of tranquility and relaxation. There were no fancy shows to look at but was simply a place where you can relax completely. Explore a little during the day, go to sleep early and wake up late. It was one of the only times in my life since childhood where I did not have a schedule to follow. We made plans same day and did not have the burden of major responsibility. I hired a car to take a trip around the island and was taken away by the terrain and scenery. The only thing that was unsettling was that we were told to watch for jelly fish but never saw any. This trip was the personification of peace.Porto Cristo, Majorca, Spain Worth Every Pence Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Chauntelle Date of travel: 21/03/2006
I found everything that I could possibly need at Porto Cristo. The beach was lovely and clean and the views from the top of the cliff made my family gasp. From our hotel we were only a train ride away from a wide arrange of shops and restaurants. There were about 5 supermarkets that had just everything from perfume to candy. There were plenty pharmacies and souvenir shops available that hosted good prices. Porto Cristo was quite hilly and had slippery footpaths so I had to watch my step every step of the way. It was small and quiet with bars full of interesting people who were very excited to meet and speak with you. At night I would wander around the beach and stop in at a bar to have a drink and long conversations. There were plenty of places at which to fish because it is known as a fishing harbor. It was a very low key holiday but well worth what we spent there. Happy Holiday Hunthing!Illetas, Majorca, Spain Good All Of The Way Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Jonathan Date of travel: 09/02/2007
Two thumbs up to my Illetas holiday. Our hotel, Hotel Bon de Sol was just breath taking. It was nice on the outside and in and the service was great. Illetas itself is only 15 minutes away from the airport which made traveling very nice. While there we went diving and spent time on the beach. It was a nice break from the everyday business and family worlds.C'an Picafort, Majorca, Spain The Holiday Hot Spot Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Shaianne Date of travel: 01/08/2007
There are not enough words in the English language to describe what an incredible time I had in C'an Picafort. There is some much to do and eat there that you never want to leave. C'an Picafort is located in North Mallorca not too far from Palma. The beach is clear and clean and is what you see anytime you catch an advertisement for the perfect beach vacation. There are umbrellas made from the leaves of trees and all of the lounge chairs along the beach are free to sit in. Our first dinner experience was Caf? Paris presided over by Wolfgang. It was a tad bit expensive but the superb food, live music and dancing made the cost well worth it. To travel and try new things we went to Rancho Grande where we went real horseback riding during the day. At night on the ranch we learned how to line dance, had dance parties and drank the best sangria (not too sweet or bitter just right). For dinner on the ranch there was a Barbeque, I can still taste the food. August was the best time to go because of all of the fiestas. We went to Ball de Bot (with traditional folk music and dance) and the outdoor 'supper.? The outdoor supper was hosted by DJ Monty who kept us all laughing and happy. We will definitely go back next summer. Can Pastilla, Majorca, Spain Quiet and peacefull all around Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Emily Date of travel: 05/08/2006
O.K. fine, it is untraditional but I took it upon myself to propose to my boyfriend and he said yes. My boyfriend's family is from Majorca so we went on holiday. He has been asking me for the passed 5 years to be his wife and I refused each time because I was not sure that we were meant to be together. One night he did something magical that made me believe that he was the one for me, my one and only so it was my turn to get down on one knee. I needed the blessing of his family and a great venue to show him that I was serious and ready for marriage, so I choose Can Pastilla. I could not wait for too long to pop the question so that minute we put our things down in the hotel I asked for his hand in marriage. Through his tears and mine he said yes and the was the beginning to an amazing holiday.
His family meet up is the quiet town of Can Pastilla to share in the celebration. I got to know and become better acquainted with them on the sandy beaches that reach all along the shoreline. Our favorite beach was the one that was sheltered but the town's harbor where we jumped on the trampolines. My new little sister in law joined me in mounting the climbing frames. The restaurants served superb foods including traditional fish dishes. We were able to rent a yacht for cheap and cruise in the water. Everything about Can Pastilla was quiet and romantic and charming. Even the roads and villas were serene. It was quite relaxing and served as the perfect platform on which to get to know my new family and fianc? better.

Calas de Mallorca, Majorca, Spain Not what we saw in photos Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Wendy Date of travel: 19/10/2005
Calas de Mallorca was very disappointing. My husband and I expected a new big attractive looking resort of major interest as they described on their website. Instead, when we got there all we found was a few scattered of hotels and apartments over a big area. It looked plain and empty and was difficult to get around thanks to its primitive road system. There are little amenities for tourists and by any definition of the word, should not be able to be called a tourist destination. There were Domingos and Cala Murada which are two pretty beaches that brightened up our holiday. There was also the Jumaica Tropical Park just to the south is also made our trip bearable because of its beauty and interesting history. In 1973 a Mallorcan family bought it as arid land and discovered that it contained a priceless water supply which they later were able to us to change it into a tropical garden. If I were you I would wait until they are complete in updating everything in the resort and it is more tourist friendly. Cala Vinas, Majorca, Spain It's O.K. Our time was good in Cala Vina but I think that it would be our only visit there. The food was good and the hotel was beautiful but there was not that much to do. We went to the beach, ate at the bars, and went to the shopping places to get gifts for the family. The highlight of the trip was hanging out with the locals and clubbing at night. The people were crazy nice and it was just a nice place overall. This would be a cool place to bring your girlfriend to relax but for four brothers trying to have a good time mixed in with some culture, not a great spot.Binibeca, Menorca, Spain Beautiful beach not much else Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Clarke Date of travel: 22/07/2007

Flicks bar was just up the road and it had cabaret and Sunday afternoon shows plus Stella's bar was a good place to go as well. We stayed at the Callao Garden Apartments, they were stunning. I would of preferred a more of a livelier resort though but beggers can't be choosers. Although all we did was sunbathe all day long and visit a couple of the bars in the evening, we can't say it wasn't what we expected. The room was lovely, great views, great people and friendly staff who were there at your beck and call if you needed it. The beach area was nice and relaxing, wasn't to packed and you could chill out with out people walking by all the time and kicking sand everywhere. Puerto de la Cruz is a great resort, I thought it was a top holiday, it's one of the best so far for me. The water park is mint, there was this huge pool with a massive water fountain in the middle that was so stunning, the slides were top and when you got bored you could go to the bar and play pool and have a few drinks and have a laugh. The hotel was cool, had the usual, bedroom, lounge/kitchen and bathroom, plus a balcony with a view of the mountains. The beach was stunning, it had my best sport of all; wake boarding. I also visited the the Taoro Park, where the main Casino is based, I spent a few quid there but it was a really wicked experience though and I really enjoyed it. Me and my friend like to go on a holiday so we can relax with out having to go miles for a beach or good bars etc. So when we got to Playa Paraiso we was kind of suprised as the beach wasn't that nice and the bars wasn't up to scratch either. We had to go out of the resort to enjoy our selves basically. Wasn't impressed. If I wanted to go to another resort to have fun I would of booked my stay in that resort, so I was disappointed. We stayed by the pool most of the days and headed to Playa De Las Americas some days to enjoy a golden sandy beach, top bars and gorgeous views. The hotel we stayed in was the Columbus and the view we had was the other side of the hotel and the pool in between the hotel, we never got to see any beautiful views from our hotel room, which we was hoping for... It wasn't the bestest holiday I have been on, but it wasn't the worst either. But I would not go back.Playa de las Americas, Tenerife, Spain Nice family holiday. In the day time we would go to the Teide National Park and enjoy a family day out. The beches were absolutly stunning too, I went on a boat trip while my 2 boys enjoyed jet skiing and wind surfing. In the evening we would all have a family meal at the local bar and then we would hit the town and have a laugh, although my youngest could not drink, he still had a fun time. It was a good holiday, my boys would love to go back, I don't blame them really. Playa de las Americas is a really beautiful resort.Playa De La Arena, Tenerife, Spain Black sand is a turn off. There was plenty for the kids to do but I found that there wasn't as much for the grown ups so that was a bit of a turn off. I really liked Playa De Fanabe, but all Tenerife's resorts are nice anyway. It has everything a resort needs, pool area, cafe's, restaurants, bars and clubs, plus tourist shops, a sports area and a dvd bar with all the latest films etc. The beach is also nice with water sports and volley ball and boat trips. The weather was fantastic, not to hot and there was a nice breeze from the beach every now and then so it made it a pleasant holiday.Ibiza Town, Ibiza, Spain Evissa! This is where it's all happening, no matter at what time it is day or night there is a lively atmosphere all around the town. The nightlife is relentless with so many bars and clubs to hop around and enjoy the funky mix of music. You will meet people from all walks of life and that adds to the whole Ibiza experience. During the day if you have got the energy take a stroll around the town and admire the Dalt Vila which is a miniature town with a vast history. Don't forget to grab some souvenirs for your friends and family just to make them that much more jealous. The beach is wonderful not too crowded most of the time and you can take part in some water sports activities. Make sure you wander around for some really cool shopping where you can pick up some really novel souvenirs. If you are just looking for a clean beach with good weather and nothing else then S'Argamassa is perfect but don't hope for much more than that. The food is pretty good and the nightlife is pretty much non-existent. Santa Eulalia, Ibiza, Spain Tranquil vacation Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Tina Date of travel: 07/09/2006
There are lovely long beaches in Santa Eulalia, the whole resorts seems surreal with its perfect beach, calm and clear blue sea and the extremely friendly people. The resort has got a lot of things to do like visiting the art galleries, Scenic tours around the town and some really good shopping. Santa Eulalia is the ideal holiday destination for a very relaxing holiday where everything slows down to your pace and you can enjoy the resort without being crowded out.Los Gigantes, Tenerife, Spain Nice resort and beautiful view Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Gemma Date of travel: 03/07/2005
I was amazed with the view from the hotel and the beach, of the mountains, it was beautiful. It was also a good experience, and I went on the boat that took us around the coastline. I spent most of the holiday at the beach, the pool wasn't big enough and was full of groups which made me feel un easy and paranoid. The resort is really nice and gives you that holiday buzz, I hired a bike and went round the resorts, there were a few top bars and clubs but was out of the way so we stuck to the bars in the resort, they were cool and had a disco night and then a rave night too. The hotel was pretty basic, kitchen, bedroom and lounge was all in one small room and the bathroom was also tiny but it did uswhile we was there.Golf Del Sur, Tenerife, Spain Enjoyment all round. Me and my 2 golfing partners enoy a round of golf every opotunity we can get, but the British weather can sometimes lets us down so we decided to try Golf Del Sur in Tenerife and it was fantastic. We stayed at The Palms (bungalow) it was luxury and fab. There was a day where we would drive to the coast and have a spot of lunch by the sea and then head back to the resort and have a late evening golf session. There was a selection of bars and there was also the members bar for the golfers, but there was a fee which put us off, it was just a normal bar really but you got a free glass of champers. I enjoed it but I would like to explore other resorts to get a feel of the best places to visit.Costa Adeje, Tenerife, Spain Can't beat Costa Adeje resorts Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Stuart Date of travel: 25/08/2006
It was a home from home hotel that's for sure, we stayed at the Regency Paradise Court resort in Costa Adeje, the rooms had its own top class kitchen, 2 bedrooms but we only needed the one, huge bathroom with shower and bath, gorgeous balcony with table and chairs and a beautiful lounge with A/C.. It was better than my own home. Now, the pool was top notch as well, nice waterfall in the middle and a bar at the edge with stools in the water. The beach was nice, just like all the beaches i've seen but this beach had jet skiing and wind surfing, a sport I really enjoy. There is some top night clubs and bars in the resort but we mainly stayed with in the hotel, proping up the bar as there was live music and stand ups anyway so we didn't need to move. I recommend it to everyone, it's top notch service.San Antonio, Ibiza, Spain Wish i could go back! Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: justin Date of travel: 19/07/2006
Watch out for San Antonio, it is a highly lively resort that is not for the feint hearted. With a whole host of fantastic clubs to keep you going all the way through to the early hours of the morning San Antonio boasts some of the hottest spots in Ibiza. One of my favourites was Eden and make sure you go to the water party which is really wild. There are so many other bars and clubs to choose form just hop around from one to the other to sample all the different styles. After you have been partying hard you need to re-charge before the next evening of fun so settle down at the beach and take a nap in the sun in front of the pristine blue water. There is a wide range of food choices form proper sit down restaurants that ooze class to the quick and easy option of fast food. Not the ideal place for the young crowd but absolutely brilliant for a romantic holiday with your other half. There is a wonderful countryside surrounding the beach which gives the resort a nice contrasting view. The resort had a lot of kids playing on the beach so I gather that it is popular family destination as well. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose form and one restaurant that all sea food lovers must try is the Balansat where the fish is absolutely delicious. Who's up for clear water, glass bottom boats, and all sorts of wildlife animals? If you are you should take a holiday to Cala Millor. Cala Millor was one of our family's first peaceful and positive holidays. Our typical holidays are loud theme park adventures or clich? island beach getaways and always end up with some bad hotel experience and with all family members sitting in far away seats on the plane. But this time holiday was different. Our parents chose a spot that was more quiet and tranquil so that we could bond versus run and argue. They took us to a safari park that we quite different from the traditional London zoo because we rode on jeeps and the area for the animals was much bigger. We saw giraffes, zebra, elephants and monkeys. Some we were able to get close up but the tigers we stay far away. They are more tame being in the area but the guide told us that they were still unpredictable. As a true family we walked up the medieval watchtower on Punta de n?Amer. It us 45 long minutes to reach the top but we had a big feast of any amount of chips and burgers, nachos, and other snacks that we wanted. The view of the sea and the resort as well of the food was well worth it. We also had a few laughs along the way, especially when Tim and Dad tripped on the way up. Maggie and I loved the apartments. I thought that apartments were just to let but you can holiday in them too. They were called the Christina apartments and the food was really good and the beds were quite comfortable. We wanted to go into the Q club because you can hear the music play outside and everyone says it was fun but we were too young to go. When I am in University I will go into that club. I liked the boats with the missing bottoms the best.Tenerife, Spain Just amazing time ever. Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Ralph Date of travel: 21/06/2007

I also took my girlfriend on a camel tour and she loved it, and then we went to the animal park and fed some of the giraffes. It was a beautiful holiday, proberly one of my best to date. I would highly recommend that even if you are looking for a clubbing holiday that go to Port des Torrent as it is the ideal place to relax during the day and then when its time to party you can start of with a few drinks in town and then head for the nearby party resort of San Antonio. The resort of Port des Torrent is not an action packed and activity based destination, it is more of a quite uneventful place which is ideal for chilling out in the sun and lounging on the beach.Playa den Bossa, Ibiza, Spain absolutely fantastic!!! Being popular does have its disadvantages and Playa den Bossa is a very popular resort especially with the British. The overload of people during the peak months can make the resort a bit claustrophobic but, you will get past all that once you have been to Space, possibly the best club in world where you can party until dawn and it is one clubbing experience that you will never forget. Another great place that is a must if you visit Playa den Bossa is the Bora Bora beach bar and the best thing about it is that's its free to get in. Me and my mates went to Arenal for a week, although it was much quieter than we expected we still had fun. The beach is massive so you got planty of space to sunbathe and the sea was a baby blue colour, my fave colour. We got on the mimi train on wheels that went round the resort and headed into Palma too where we shopped. We went to Aqualand and I went on the largest slide in there and wasn't very well afterwards, steep drop which turned my stomach big time. But once we got back to our apartment and had a sleep I was fine afterwards. Don't go there if you don't like heights. The Karting Majic go kart track was another favorite as well, I enjoy all kids things. Me and my mum stayed in the Astoria Playa hotel and the pool was very nice and very open too. Every evening me and my mum had Italian food from the Pizzeria Novamarina and we also went to the Miramar restaurant but that was more expensive but a treat. Then we headed to the bars and drank the night away. It was top.I'm going back for sure.Cala D'Or, Majorca, Spain Get the Package Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Boonie Date of travel: 16/02/2007
It is best to do a packaged holiday for the Cala d?Or resort because buying everything separately proves too expensive and unsatisfying. In our package we got hotel stay, transportation, tours and discounts on food and attractions. I do advise that if you are on a packaged deal hid your wristband until after you eat so that you are serviced by the waiter straightaway. If they catch sight of the band they might wait until others serve you for fear that they will not receive a tip and please do tip well so that we can eliminate that stigma. A disappointing part of the resort is that there are not that many attractions. Without our package information we would not have known what to do. We ended up spending time on the beach (of course), go karting and traveling around the island. Our hotel was beautiful aesthetically but the service was not that great. For fun we went to the Chic Palace Disco were we met with foreigners and locals. The music was great but the drinks were quite pricy.Tias, Lanzarote, Spain Good, good, good! It was 3 star but I would class it as 2 star as it wasn't cleaned enough and the staff wasn't around when you needed them. Other than that the resort was fantastic, there was a cafe/bar out side of the hotel and they did the best full English breakfast ever. The beach was just down the street and the resort itselfs was totally beautiful. I went to one of the festivals in La Fiesta del Carmen and loved it. And there was also a huge selection of bars to choose from of a night time. My model shoot took place in Sonnenland de Gran Canaria. The back drop was perfect for our perfume ad so we spent 2 days shooting the photos at the site. I was due for a holiday so my boyfriend flew up after the hold and we stayed there for a week. We were told by the Spaniards that the town used to be centered about tourists but recently has transformed into town of residents who work in the surrounding Playa del Ingles and Puerto Rico resorts. I preferred the non-tourist feel. Everything was more smartly priced and the residents spoke about life now and back then and what they hoped for the future. The people were real. They did not have to put on the fake smile and false pleasing conversations to appease tourist. They also gave us the inside scoop of what annoys them most about travelers. My initial impressions of Sonnenland were influenced but the amount of hotels. The locals told me that this place has more hotels per square mile than anywhere else on the island and that is what I thought it would be. I was wrong and glad about the.
I enjoyed speaking with the residents and the vast mix of people who visited and who lived there. They were really laid back like us. The city center thrived but because locals lived there, it was more fun and cheap. Running through the sand dunes was silly fun and we were frequent visitors at the shops, restaurants, and bars.

The pool area was also fantastic, palm trees everywhere and plenty of sunbathing space. The beach was beautiful, with golden sand and clear blue sea. There was a selection of shops, bars, restaurants, clubs, duty free shops, everything. Plus there were a few tourist stalls along the strip as well. We visited the Sunday market in Teguise which was smashing, I love snooping round and finding bargins. In the evening we enjoed walks along the beach, karaoke and live music show which was superb. Puerto Calero was a bit to quiet for me, I wanted a peaceful and relaxing holiday but this was taking the biscuit. The "Millionaires" harbour was tremendous, makes my littel boat look like a pea! There was a couple of yachts up for sale but they were out of my price bracket. (4 million euros and 7 million) nice! The beach was basic, sun loungers, pedal boats, boat rides and the usual bars, shops and restaurants. The Dolphin museum was good and the Yellow Submarine was cool as well. Puerto Calero is a place for the older couples looking for peace and quiet to the full.Playa Taurito, Gran Canaria, Spain No Partiers Perfect for Us Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Agatha Date of travel: 10/04/2007
Everything was fabulous about our holiday. We had exceptional staff, service, and food at the resort. There we many day activities so we never tired of one thing. We paid a little more and got into the lido area. Lovely place with places that you can sub-bathe without getting sand between the toes, gigantic pool, and an island with bars and bridges. The beach of Playa Taurito had natural BLACK sand which was hard to believe even when touching it. And no crazy nights with crazy teenagers running rampant. Nights were quiet filled with caf's not dance clubs so coffee and tea. Even a walk over to Puerto Mogan kept you in the relax night air. We went to dine and drink and for a change of scene. I shopped until I dropped at Playa del Ingles. It had more people than Taurito but a greater assortment of shopping complexes. Many of the people who I traveled with did not fancy walking. We took the bus for main transportation which proved cheap and easy on the bodies. Even taxis did not go over ?4 a piece once we shared the fair. In the park we had room to speed walk and eat lunches. What a tranquil break on the side of a valley. Playa de los Pocillos, Lanzarote, Spain Playa de los Pocillos is cool. The resort was liveley and it had a great atmosphere, some resorts i've been to have had so much trouble with groups etc and this resort was relaxed but fun. Two years ago we went to holiday in Playa Amadores. We usually go to Puerto Rico but we wanted to try something a bit different this time. We were very happy that Playa Amadores was quite different than Puerto Rico. I still have to admit that I prefer Puerto Rico but our time at the Playa was quite good. The beach is in the shape of a horse shoe so you can look on to the other side. It was great for the children because they had more freedom on account that it was not crowded, clean and sheltered. The restaurants were certainly cheaper than the bigger Puerto Rico and the food was top quality. My wife and I went diving to explore the underwater ship wrecks while the children snorkeled on top with their cousins.Playa Blanca, Lanzarote, Spain I was a bit disappointed. We was also told to go to the Powerhouserock Bar as it was a top laugh and you would really love it, but when we got there it was boring to put it bluntly, it was full of drunk tourist and you could not move with all the people around. Playa Del Cura is a small resort on the south west coast of Gran Canaria. It is built on cliffs that overlook the coast made so that it is low-key. My uncle and aunt call it their little hideaway spot because it is peaceful and not a usual site for tourists. When they want to get out and around they take cheap taxis for Puerto Rico but 95% of their trips are spent in the resort. My uncle and aunt have been back to that resort 4 times. They say that each time it gets better because the people know them by name. This last time they told me that they walked along the rocky coastline and looked over the small valley. They spent a little more time in town than usual because they finally decided to eat at Bistro 22. The other 3 holidays to Playa Del Cura they avoided it because it was known as the most popular at the resort and they like going against the grain. But when they tried it, they did not want to leave. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. My uncle said that they cook the shrimp just long enough and add special spices to the fish.
I get little gifts of food sent in packages. My relatives buy food from the Spar market and send it home to us. We never get pastries though, despite the fact that my aunt raves about the bakery. They take love in the fact that the beaches are more rocky than sandy. It is easier to walk and run on and more excuse to lounge on beach chairs. Their first trip there they took the Island Tour to make sure that they loved the entire island before they made it their hideaway. It took them all day and the coach ride was bumpy but they keep returning.

The Pool was beautiful but we would spend most of out time exploring and going to the beach. There was plenty of activities for the children and out selves which was perfect. Rumor had it that if we wanted an incredible spring break experience that we should choose Playa Del Ingles. We did and spring break had never been better. Playa Del Ingles is the second biggest resort in all of Europe. The beach was big and even though there were a lot of people you still had room to have races, play tug of war, volleyball and soccer.
When we got there, there was so much that we could do that we got overwhelmed. We actually had to sit down everybody in one room and plan what all 14 of us were going to so while there. Most day times were our lazy times. Chilling at the beach or playing in the pool. Girls got massages and nails done and boys pretended they were something special to the other girls.
Other days we went into town (the buses are really easy to figure out) so that we could get all aspects of the holiday. We went to the souvenir shops, played bingo, the supermarket, and to bars. Anexo II to the north was a town on the beach still and was the only real place that we say people water skiing and on boards. The beach at the resort had too many people to do that kind of thing.
At night our holiday heat up. We ate cheap for breakfast and lunch so that we could go all out for dinner. The restaurants in the towns had THE food to die for and were not as crowded as the ones in the resort. After eating we went to a nice mix of clubs and bars and danced at both. One night at a bar, my friend started to dance, made all of us dance and people that we did not know started dancing with us too. That night we met people from Spain and Scandinavia.
San Agustin, Gran Canaria, Spain Our Honeymoon Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Carlos Date of travel: 31/05/2005
My wife and I went on holiday to San Agustin for our honeymoon. The island is lovely for our money's worth but we did not tell too many great stories when we returned. The food was new and tasty and they served big portions. The pools good size and I enjoyed them much more over the beach. The beach was nothing that the pictures showed on the catalogues. Over crowded with children running wild and bothering others frequently and rubbish everywhere. Our complaints fell on deaf ears because nothing was done. The employees at the hotel and bars did everything that that we asked but slowly with negative attitudes. When our Air Condition unit malfunctioned it took them 2 ? days to come take a look at it. The saving grace of the trip was our location was in town. Local merchants assembled items that you could not find elsewhere. Moderately priced items and gifts for our families. We took day tours around the island and on the water. The town's people were nice which went well with the traditional set up and character of the surroundings. All in all we had a good time on the island but were not too keen on returning to the hotel everyday. Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, Spain The Audacity Rating: 4/10 Submitted by: Samantha Date of travel: 27/10/2006
Last year we had a two week stay at the Gloria Palace Amadores. The hotel is beautiful in an astounding location on the cliffs in Puerto Rico. Wow, when we first saw the hotel we were in love. Fantastic room sizes, clean fresh environment, and extremely large all the way around. We had visions of watching the sun rise and sun set and eating breakfast and dinner respectively. Our resort fantasy was brought down to planet earth when the greeting staff member opened her mouth: ?Can I help you or would like to spend the greater part of your day standing there and looking around?? Hmmmm a little taken aback, we thought nothing of it and continued to check in. We went to the beach to relax and take in the sun which was amazing. The water was perfect with a backdrop of rocks, umbrellas and sand that were the perfect compliment.
Pushing rude comments out of mind and feeling good again about holiday we went to the hotel restaurant. Utter disaster. My brother and I waited 17 minutes (I timed it) before waiter took the order for our drinks. That was ridiculous. You would think that after a show like that they would offer complimentary drinks but instead it took them 8 minutes to get our drinks to us. Appalled by the time and not willing to wait 2 hours to be served dinner we asked for the check so that we could leave. If Jared would not have walked up to the waiter, our 5 minutes that we waited for the check would have turned into more. Just not believing the audacity we complained to the manager. He did NOT apologize but kept saying in an annoyed voice ?It will be taken care of.?
We experienced rude and sloppy service for our week there. If it were not for being on the island and doing all the outside things the trip would be ruined. We thought the attitude was an island thing but no. The people at the bars and outside waiters were quite kind. Other guests of the hotel that we spoke to felt the same way. The service was terrible and the management did nothing but make empty promises that ?It will be taken care of.?

It had its own waterfall, and a pool that is right to the edge of the sea now you can't beat that. The main road into the resort is a view with palm trees and Cabary pines. In the evening time you could enjoy a variety of entertainment such as live music, stand ups and cabaret. Or you can just go to on of the cosy bars/restaurants and watch the world go by with a cocktail in your hand, the world is your oyster here in Costa Calma. I really enjoyed it and i'm definitely going to go back.Playa Barca, Fuerteventura, Spain I recommend Playa Barca. Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Gina Date of travel: 09/06/2007
Me, my husband and my 3 children stayed at the Melia Gorriones hotel and was happy with the service we received. With 3 children its hard to do anything but with kids activites through out the day time it made our life much more easier. In the morning time we would go for breakfast and then head for the beach which is located 5 minutes walk away, then we would go on the resort train and explore the resort to the full, then we would stop for lunch before heading back to the hotel to prepare for the evening. The hotel catered most entertainment but there was also things to do out side of the resprt too. I enjoyed my stay in Playa Barca and would recommend going back.Meloneras, Gran Canaria, Spain Really Reallly ReallyGood Food Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Sofia Date of travel: 03/01/2007
My sister went to Meloneras and she said that she was never in need of something to do. She took a Jeep safari to see the animals. In the safari she saw green valleys and volcanically formed mountains. She hired a trainer to teach her how to play golf. Monica told me that the golf course was grand and that she looked and listened to the sounds of the sea. She became really good for a beginner and my husband was on hot coals in their match. Windsurfing was not her forte but she said that she would do it again in a heart beat. Now my sister and her friends are party animals who are picky about their activity venue. To see that they were satisfied by the club scene in Las Palmas says a lot about the quality of the establishments. Monica could not keep quiet about the food and how the food was good and you cannot find better food anywhere. She is going to cook the food for me, and take me there to try the food. When it reaches my time of holiday I will go for the sun, safari and yes Monica, THE FOOD.Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, Spain Sweet Maspalomas Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Ashanti Date of travel: 18/01/2006
We rode camels on our trip to Maspalomas. We rode them right across the sand dunes in the desert. They were so tall and soft and their humps were firm. For our time we relaxed and took life easy. Jerry and Sam spent their time in the bars, I played golf. The most adventurous task that required energy was the Holidayworld amusement park but it was the good kind of energy where everyone came out wet. Holidayworld is a water park set in the Wild Wild West theme. We had our pick of cool restaurants. The beach was big, and we stared at the sand dunes that held protected wildlife. The dunes were massive extending down for meters. Everywhere always clean tranquil. I liked the food as did the wild rabbits that would come around and beg.Bahia Feliz, Gran Canaria, Spain Special Times Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: April Date of travel: 21/09/2005
The resort of Bahia Feliz made our holiday special. It is charming because it is a representation of the Gran Canaria of the past while still offering all of the comforts of modern day. Our tour guide told us that the name translates to ?happy bay,? quite an accurate description. The resort was the host of dining in the shade of palm trees at bars and restaurants, and lounging around on the beach being lazy and taking pleasure in the breeze. My daughters learned how to wind-surf from the wind-surfing lessons that were held on the beach. We signed up right there and they were out on the water within minutes. We briefly went to check out Europe's biggest resort, Playa del Ingles. It was marvelous and we understood why it was so popular but it was pleasant to return back to our quiet spot. Bahia Feliz's flowers are beautiful and their scent floats in the air. Our family danced together to live music play by ordinary people in the warm soothing evening air.Gran Canaria, Spain Carnaval Fiesta Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Tania Date of travel: 08/02/2007
Can I just say that Gran Canaria made a fantastic holiday! This island is so small that you can drive around it entirely in one day but the people have packed so much in it that there is something to do every second. The people are mega friendly and take pride in what they do. It all was top notch from the food, hotels, beaches, bars, and caf's. The people really look after and care for their island. And you KNOW I went out in the water and even entered the Jet Ski competition. I lost but it was so nice for the island girls to give me a hug and tell me how the men cheated (they really didn't it was just nice to say). I intentionally went in time for the carnival. Tickets were a little more expensive because of that but the extra money was worth it. The costumes were gorgeous and I brought replicas home for me. Men standing on stilts, feathered crowns 50 meters high and the best music under the sun. At the carnival I got so see the Festival of Ballet with performers from the U.K., U.K., France, Africa, and Holland. I was an audience member of the Spanish Light Opera, my favorite ever. My villa was small, cute, comfortable, and at times I wanted to stay sleeping in the comfortable bed.Jandia, Fuerteventura, Spain Hmmmm it was ok. Rating: 5/10 Submitted by: Michael Date of travel: 08/05/2007
Jandia was an ok resort, the beach was nice but the resort its self wasn't much to look at. There was the basic shop and only had 2 bars and 2 restaurants, you had to go out side of Jandia to get what you was looking for. One of the days I had a go at horse riding, i've never been on a horse before and I wouldn't do it again, it's very scary. I will still to sunbathing in stead.Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura, Spain Golf facilities are tremendous Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Damien Date of travel: 07/08/2005
I went to Caleta de Fuste with a group of pals and stayed at the Elba Palace Golf hotel. I'm a big fan of golf and enjoyed every last moment of my stay in the resort. The hotel was 5 star, the room was luxury with en suite and a king sized bed, balcony over looking the superb pool area and the gold course to round the back of the hotel. I would normally get on the golf course for 9am at the very latest and stay their for most of the day then return to the hotel for the evening 3 course meal. There was a restaurant, bars and shops on the resort and also great activities other than golf. I have already booked my holiday in the same holtel and resort for next year, this time I will be taking my wife along.Fuerteventura, Spain It was a nice getaway resort. You was awoken by the sea 1st thing of a morning and that was a beautiful thing. Very relaxing and peaceful. The resort was also nice, with a selection of tourist shops and bars, and you could also hire a bike for the day so you could explore the whole of the resort in full. In the evening me and my fiancee enjoyed romantic meals and a few cocktails and then headed back to the hotel and sat on the balcony just relaxing.Salou, Costa Dorada, Spain Excellent party Capital. Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Claire Date of travel: 19/05/2006
Me and another 6 of us went on a girly holiday to Salou, the hotel we stayed in was called Calypso, it wasn't the nicest hotel i've ever stayed in but you get what you pay for basically. The room was quite small and very stuffy and the pool side was crowded with kids and families every where. We went to the Port Aventura theme park and went on the Dragon Khan rollercoaster, that was ace. We enjoed the evening entertainment as the bars and clubs were open till 4am in the morning. Sometimes you would get some truoble but everywhere you go you get that so we just got on with partying and having a laugh. I would never stay in the Calypso hotel again, I would go to a more luxury one next time. But Salou is a top place.La Pineda, Costa Dorada, Spain The hotel was gorgeous! OMG the hotel in La Pineda is like, OMG! I stayed in the Hotel Palas Pineda, 4 star, the pool was out of this world and the inside of the hotel was like a palace.. It was drop dead gorgeous. You didn't need to step out side of the hotel as it had everything, a hairdressers, cosy cafe/bars, the Tavern nightclub, restaurants you name it, it had it. But ok, it never had the beautiful beach though, with palm trees everywhere and a beach bar as well, plus boat rides and pedal boats etc, I had a wicked time in La Pineda. I stayed in the hotel of the evening though as the hotel organised there own shows etc.Cambrils, Costa Dorada, Spain Nice pleasant resort. Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Neil Date of travel: 14/04/2005
I enjoyed my self in Cambrils, i loved doing the beach volleyball and go-karting. The fishing village is fishy but very interesting. Me and my girlfriend also went to explore Port Aventura theme park and had a great day. Cambrils is a much quiter resort compared to Salou, but we took a day trip into Salou for a change. The night life in Salou is very liveley and busy but back in Cambrils it was much more relaxed and pleasant. Which is what we liked about the resort. I picked and choosed from the beach and the pool area as they were both good for sunbathing. If you fancied a day out then you could visit the local water park where I found that it was a joy and a laugh, I almost lost my bikini top at one point, how embarrassing. There is also bars and restaurants by the resort so you wont go hungey or thirsty. Plus the hotel had its own restaurant and bar area as well.Torrox Costa, Costa del Sol, Spain My holiday in Spain Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: JJ Date of travel: 17/08/2007

The caves near Nerja are amazing! Similar to the ones in Gibraltar which is driving distance and worth a visit too! You can hear water trickling everywhere and its the thousands of years of trickling that have carved these caves. Really spectacular when all lit up. The beach is pretty standard (sun sand water - what more do you need!) and the local shops and restaurants are in abundance. Great place for a honeymoon because there is nothing to do! But not in a bad way. All we did was look at gorgeous views and ate out and wandered around the pretty little streets and stayed in our room for hours. And just before the tourist season kicked off so not too crowded... Perfect honeymoon! :-)Estepona, Costa del Sol, Spain Estepona Farmers Market Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Jeanette Date of travel: 11/04/2007

Went to the costa del sol last year and had the worst holiday ever. Maybe it was the circumstances and the company rather than the place! Hire car broke down and it took hours to be rescued. Meanwhile we were burnt to a crisp in the andulucian sunshine! Everywhere we went there were thousands of half naked british people. Didn't hear one word of spanish and ate fish and chips most nights in the hotel. Had to really search the town for some good spanish food!

Went to the Costa del Sol with my mum in February. Was total bliss! Most people go to the Costa Del Sol in the summer but in February, ok it's not so hot but it's not freezing like england and there are hardly any tourists. The Costa Del Sol has been totally ravaged by the tourist industry. All there is is british pubs and indian takeaways and aparthotels and in the summer that's all you see as well as sunburnt british people. However when we went in the winter we hired a car and drove round all the little villages. Ate tapas, walked along the coast. Shopped in the farmers markets. Also drove along the coast to Gibraltar which was really surreal. Its like England.... but in Spain! Ronda is so beautiful in the winter. A thunder storm was brewing and the view from the plateau was stunning with the big grey clouds framing the mountains. Mijas is a must see. Very pretty little town :-)
I'm a winter holiday in the Costas convert and trust me it's much better than lying on the beach with the other british tourists in the summer!Costa de Almerica - Other, Costa de Almeria, Spain Birthday surprise Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Jake Date of travel: 18/05/2007

Roquetas de Mar is a very good family holiday destination with lots of activities revolving around the family. This is definitely a resort for the active-minded visitor with so many activities to do I doubt that one visit to Mojacar will be enough. You can do everything form hiking to golfing and then if you still have any energy left over from the days activities there are a few bars and clubs that will entertain you throughout the night. Budu is one of my favourite pubs and you should pay it a visit if you get a chance and you will understand why I recommended it.Costa de Almeria, Spain Rating: 4/10 Submitted by: Gideon Date of travel: 19/04/2006
Not a particularly great holiday destination for someone looking for a proper holiday, by proper I mean that there is not much of a crowd there and although the beaches are spotless and the water is excellent for any kind of water sports, the resort doesn't have that holiday feel about it. I am sure if I liked a quite holiday destinations where i could hide away from the world than this would be the ideal place. Not much of a night life and just not enough people in general. I would recommend Estartit for a fun holiday any day.Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Laura Date of travel: 13/06/2005

Not really my cup of tea but it was a pleasant place to visit as the people are really friendly.Sitges, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Julian Date of travel: 04/04/2006
Sitges is an excellent resort for a holiday with good weather pretty much all year round it doesn't really make a difference when you visit. If you visit during the summer months you might find it a bit overwhelming as it can get very crowded. De la Ribera beach is nice clean beach that has become very popular amongst the tourists. Apart from the beach life Sitges offers a rich history which can be explored through visiting the buildings and museums. Make sure you visit Sin Street once the sun goes down as that's where all the clubs and bars are. Sitges also has an active gay community which has boosted tourism over the last few years. Santa Susanna, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Kirsty Date of travel: 13/10/2005
Visiting Santa Susanna was a very pleasant experience although I visited a couple of years ago I am sure that it has gotten even better now. Santa Susanna is one of the least touristy places in the Costa Brava region which is why it appealed to me. There are some really good cheap and cheerful bars and restaurants and there is a wide range of activities to keep you occupied during the day. Me & my mates hit the beach about 8am and there was already a que for the boat. I also took a trip to the water park and enjoyed the cool water slides and rock climbing pools. It was a fun packed holiday and I was constantly on the go from morning, noon and night. You will never get bored in Lloret de Mar as it's one of the most liveliest spots across the Costa Brava with loads to do. So the next day I enjoed a day on a boat and drank red wine and had sea food platters, it was amazing experience. I also enjoyed a tour round a museum and viewd amazing art pieces etc, something which I haven't done for years. We also enjoyed a trip to Alicante's Safari Park, now that was amazing. We went to Javea around April time and it was very quiet , that was good in a way but boring in another way. I heard a rumor that there was a mountain in a shape of an Elephant so I had to have a look for my self and to be honest, when you stare at the feature for a long time it is actually an elephant and its trunk hanging into the sea. That was a nice attraction to see. The beaches were quiet. The sea was a nice deep blue colour, the hotel we stayed in was overlooking the sea and the view was amazing. We had a walk in the village and the streets were so narrow and there were little cafe's every where, the people were very friendly as well. I would go back in the peak season next time to get a feel of place with more tourists about. But I enjoyed my stay at Javea and would go again.Cala Finestrat, Costa Blanca, Spain Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Sally Date of travel: 03/07/1999
I was really suprised with how tiny the resort Cala Finestrat is but with Benidorn close by it made the holiday much more open. We enjoyed a day at the Terra Mitticia Theme Park and the La Marina Shopping centre, it was just to get us away from the resort basically and to stop us from getting bored. The hotel was very basic but clean, nice pool even though it was the only one and was always crowded but it was loveley. The beach was beautiful, just like a post card picture. I loved the banana boat and the ringo's... Along the sea front were a selection of restaurants, we had lunch and dinner in a different restaurant each night to get a sence of which restaurant was the best, but they all were the same really. There wasn't much night life as well but i'm not the party type, especially with 5 kids... I enjoy walks and scenery so going into the centre of Blanes was nice, and if you want a night out then going into Blanes central is the best choice, as they do some good pubs and restaurants.Ibiza - Other, Ibiza, Spain Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Sam Date of travel: 03/04/2007

I did so much partying 2 last me a life time, I don't think I saw much of the day but all that matters is I had a top holiday... I would recommend Ibiza for all the party loving animals out there but not for the early night types!Majorca, Spain Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Babs Date of travel: 23/04/2006

If you want white sandy beaches with great weather and lots of british people then Magaluf is for you. I was very disappointed as there were too many tourists especially british ones i may as well have just went to Brighton beach for the weekend. Next time i will try and find the tourist to locals ratio before i go anywhere like that.Costa del Sol - Other, Costa del Sol, Spain Rating: 5/10 Submitted by: Lisa Date of travel: 10/06/2006
Costa Del Sol is a nice area, you get your quiet spots and also your livelier spots too. Depending on what part you stay, you get what you pay for... The night life is cool, very busy but fun... Always somthing going on with in the resort so you wont be disappointedā¦Majorca, Spain Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Diane Date of travel: 05/07/2007

I went to Fuerteventura with a friend a few years ago. We were still at uni then and looking for a bit of fun and a break from reading and revising! And we got exactly that! We stayed at the Dunas Hotel in Corralejo. Their Luna bar is friendly and cheap but was a bit too family friendly for us. The pool was nice and the gym. But the real fun was to be had in the town just a short walk away. The seafood, the cheap alcohol and the REALLY lovely local people made our holiday!
The great thing about Fuerteventura is it's not as developed as the other canary islands. We were able to drive out to the sand dunes in the middle of the night and see shooting stars. And the surfing in fantastic! You can get a boat from Corralejo to Lobos Island which I highly recommend. Make the effort to climb the volcano. The views accross the bay and You can also get a ferry to Lanzarote for the day if you fancy seeing black volcanic sandy beaches! Personally I would steer clear of the other canary islands! The beaches in Corralejo are stunning white sands!
La Oliva is worth a visit too. You can get a bus from Corralejo. There are windmills and a couple of restaurants. There are also some old ruins and a volcano with a stunning crater.
I fell in love with Corralejo and after a week there I was gutted we had to leave. The plane was cancelled on the way back but Thomas Cook put us in a posh hotel (barcelo caleta de fuste - if i remember correctly) near the airport so we had an extra night for free!
Amazing holiday experience that anyone would love!
