I had already booked before reading these reviews. Again, the property is in the same condition. It was very basic. My husband and 2 teenage daughters stayed in this villa (if you can call it a villa). The ceiling fan in the main room is pretty useless, the other fan was ok. I wanted to kill the cockerel, as said before 4.30am start. We did not feel we could sit out in the courtyard, due to the close proximity to the owners room and toilet. I slipped down the steep hill on the first day. We complained to the rep and she pointed out the small print about general noise and all in all was pretty useless. We were offered accomodation outside of Lindos, but Lindos is where we wanted to be, as it is special to us and it was our anniversary. We made the most of Lindos and spent as little time as possible in the villa. Lindos is lovely, but avoid this accomodation.Lindos, Rhodes, Greece Lindos,Rhodes,Greece Herife Vi Rating: 4/10 Submitted by: Liz Date of travel: 11/08/2009
Well not much has changed. We saw the other review after booking. My bed was close to collapse, the hole is still in the ceiling. Wardrobes still padlocked. Cooker had improved. Cockerels and chickens still there.. The owners still living in the one room, five of them sleeping in there. When we sat out in the courtyard having breakfast in the morning they would use their toilet which was off the courtyard or sit and smoke. In the late evening there was no peace because they had their door open and the television blaring. We did get cleanish towels and sheets each day. Rubbish from previous guests was under the beds. We knew that there was a steep climb but it was really steep and slippy. Nowhere in the brochure did it state that the villa was unsuitable for elderly or infirm. The rep was useless. We phoned the main office and after a day were offered a hotel room outside Rhodes...for five of us. Lindos is beautiful and we made the best of it. Olympic should not have this accomodation on there books. They are out to rip people off. Their car hire and trips were 50 % more expensive than everywhere else. I certainly do not recommend them to anyone.Faliraki, Rhodes, Greece faliraki, rhodes, awesome !! Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: sally Date of travel: 03/09/2008

I we to faliraki in 2007 with 3 friends, i was 18 my friends were 21 & 22. We were not impressed, we went there for the nightlife but it was really quiet & also because alot of the clubs dont have a licence to open past 12, when a police car drives past after 12 they turn the music off untill it goes ! Out of the whole week i think we went out 3 times at night 2 of which we were back at our apartment by 12ish. It may have got more livley since we went but i certianly will not be going back.Faliraki, Rhodes, Greece my findings Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: richy Date of travel: 17/04/2008

The worst holiday we ever had. Four 60 somethings who always go self catering because we enjoy that type of holiday. All we wanted was somewhere clean and quiet for a relaxing break. The place was tatty, a bed collapsed, a chair collapsed, there was a hole in the ceiling where the fan should have been. The wardrobes were padlocked because the owners, who seemend to be living in one room overlooking the courtyard, kept their belongings in them. The cooker was a dirty thing sat on a collapsing, knee high table placed right outside the back bedroom door, the handle of which fell off when we tried to make some toast. The views from the back bedroom consisted of a yard full of broken pallets, rubble and rubbish. Also, confined no more than ten feet from the bedroom window, and on the same level, there was a cockerel and some chickens kept in a scruffy pen made of wire and wooden pallets. The cockerel started crowing at 4.30 am and kept on till 8.30am. We had no help from the Olympic rep and after three nights we had to find our own alternative accommodation. It has taken ten months of letter-writing and going to ABTA and the IRDS, to get back the extra money we had to pay out. My advice, steer well clear unless you get a cast iron guarantee that all the problems have been rectified.Lindos, Rhodes, Greece lindos rhodes, greece Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: mel Date of travel: 27/03/2008

Staying in the Garden Hotel in Pastida is a wonderfull and idillic experience. A small village with so much to offer. You are made to feel very welcome and everything is personal. The largest and most beautifull pool on Rhodes island is just one of the many features of this hotel. There are plenty of shops and tavernas to visit, The hotel also runs shuttle service to Rhodes town and beaches, with numerous trips which are extremely good value for money. Would highly recommend to both couples and families.Lindos, Rhodes, Greece lindos will steal your heart Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: LINDA Date of travel: 01/08/2007
I have been fortunate enough to visit Lindos several times and am very reluctant to holiday anywhere else. It is without doubt the most beautiful, relaxing, cosmopolitan, stylish yet laid-back place I have every holidayed in. I always holiday alone and find that Lindos suits single female travellers completely. The atmosphere is amazing and I always feel relaxed and very much at home. You are very well looked after in all of the local bars and restaurants and you quickly make friends with the staff/owners who want to make your visit enjoyable.
It's hard to do it justice but I truly believe that I leave a little bit of my heart there every time I leave.
It is my intention to move there permanently when I am in a financial position to do so.
Please give it a try - I get very passionate about wanting everyone to sample it's magicRhodes, Greece DORETTA BEACH THOLOS Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Tracey Date of travel: 08/05/2006

Not your traditional Greek resort, but it does have a certain charm - there’s a Chinese restaurant, numerous English and Irish bars and the famous local bakery. Definitely one of the livelier resorts in the south of the island! If you want to get out & about the beautiful village of Lindos is a 10 min drive away, and if you’re not hiring a car there’s the hourly bus but this only runs to 7.30pm off season. A great resort, I will be returning!Rhodes Town, Rhodes, Greece A Tale of 2 towns Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Ranulph Date of travel: 03/07/2007
Divided into the new town and the old town, Rhodes Town is a wonderful place with great contrasts, the old town is a very popular attraction and is enclosed by stone walls where you will find a lot of the shops housed in the old buildings and there a few museums which will have a historical tale to tell about the town. The new town is much more contemporary and is buzzing with life but you better do you?re shopping early as the city winds down for a Siesta in the afternoon for a few hours before roaring back to life in the early evening. Don?t get carried away with shopping on the main street as the prices can be pretty high so make sure you look around. Rhodes town was also home to one of the ancient wonders of the world, the Colossus of Rhodes which used to be on the port.Pefkos, Rhodes, Greece Lots of Brits Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: janice Date of travel: 02/08/2006
I think I saw more British people in Pefkos than I have seen in my home town, the place was packed with people from the UK which is probably a good indication that it is a good holiday spot. As the sun sets you will see plenty of neon lights go on which means that its party time although, the lights do make the place seem a bit tacky but the music and people buzzing around the bars more than makes up for it. During the day make sure you rest up at the nice beach and improve your tan. Kolymbia, Rhodes, Greece There is Greenery Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Sophie Date of travel: 18/04/2006
Probably the only place I have seen greenery in any resort which was very surprising. Kolymbia is an uneventful resort which is perfect for those seeking a quite retreat. If a nice quite stroll along the beach and evening in half empty restaurant is what you are after than there are few places better suited than Kolymbia. It is a very location suitable for couples and families. Kalithea, Rhodes, Greece The only place to go Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Seema Date of travel: 27/08/2007
Don't go anywhere else if you decide to go on holiday to Greece then make sure you go to Kalithea! It was absolutely marvellous the beach was spotless and there is a great range of water sports to enjoy. Every single place we ate at had delicious food and the local people were extremely warm and welcoming. Kalathos, Rhodes, Greece Size doesn't matter Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Kuldeep Date of travel: 17/06/2006
This small village is a lovely holiday place, although it is tiny in comparison to the other resorts it has probably retained more of its natural beauty and heritage which makes it that much more appealing. The beach is fantastic where you can put your beach towel down and relax in the sun. The food is good especially the seafood which is what we expected as it on the coast.Ixia, Rhodes, Greece Ideal for Wind Surfing Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Steven Date of travel: 02/10/2005
Surfs up! If you like water sports then head for Ixia where if visited in the summer season you can get some real good winds and waves for wind surfing and that also makes for excellent sailing conditions. It is ideal for the family and not too overpriced, you will spend a lot more in some of the other resorts.Lindos, Rhodes, Greece Family Favourite Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Andreas Date of travel: 06/05/2006
Lindos is a family favourite of ours and we visit it regularly as there is so much to see and do that we just can't get sick of it. The nightlife is absolutely booming with bars and clubs where you can party the night away to the familiar sounds of western music. By day the town looks very traditional and you will find it a bit weird that all the houses are painted white. There are many restaurants in Lindos most of them serve the same food with a bit of variation however I you look hard enough you can locate a Chinese restaurant in town.Rhodes, Greece Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Rebecca Date of travel: 12/06/1997
I went to Rhodes town and the scenery was just beautiful. I went shopping in the city and the shops were in the old castle buildings, restaurants, bars etc it was just so gorgeous. I also walked around the castles ruins and its history makes Rhodes a holiday to remember. I also took a coach to Falaraki for the day and the drive there was cool, not much to see except old villages and run down buildings. The time i went was so scorching, you could not breath, and that was the coolest part of summer as well. I enjoyed Rhodes and would go back again.Faliraki, Rhodes, Greece Fun Holiday Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Mike Date of travel: 01/09/2007
Me and my mates just came back from Faliraki in Rhodes and i can easily say we had the time of our lives. It was unbelievable. We are all 20 and we booked the tickets last minute so when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. It was hot and the beach was really nice and clean with fun slides and sports available. I would say that Faliraki is best suited for 18-30 year olds looking to party anyone younger or older don't go as it will be too hectic for you. Everyone there just wants to have a good time and party the nights away. There are so many bars and clubs that you can choose a different one each day. We went to different restaurants and bars all the time cos we wanted to try everything. I'm telling you this place was absolutely great and can't wait till next year to go again. We all loved it.Faliraki, Rhodes, Greece Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Steve Date of travel: 14/07/2007
Amazing! the people, the beach and of course the fish bowls, had an absolutely wicked time.. see you next year Faliraki! Faliraki, Rhodes, Greece Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Paul Date of travel: 21/05/2007
This is a top holiday for the younger generation. I was based in a hotel above all the pubs and clubs with my girlfriend and there was no chance of an early night. But, if you want a lively night then Faliraki is the place to be. The beach has the usual activities, bungy jumping, miss wet t-shirt competitions (nice), pedalo's, jet ski's and much more so you will not be bored at all... |
