What a place, friendly, safe and oh so cheap!
Good food, wine (interesting) but the people are superb. Forget the past and it being a communist state and just enjoy. travel is easy by car, bus or train. just remember they are about 20 years behind us in some things - the people are polite and crime is dealt with harshly (so there is little of it!).
There are two parts to the day - the business, shopping and sightseeing part and the eveing when the old town comes to life but in a very friendly way.
Please don't go there if you want discos etc they don't have them!
Enjoy before it is spoilt.Poland krakow Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: barbara Date of travel: 06/12/2007
last year we wnt to krakow in dec for the christmas markets unfortunatley it wasnt long enough so my husband insisted thet this year we go for a week so we are looking forward th seeing krakow in december again seeing the beautiful wavel castle the cathedral where pope john paul kept hommage before he was crowned pope , riding in a horse and carriage around the old town and trawling through the market stalls in the grand square where you can get a warm glass of mulled wine whilst listening to the children singing carols lovely, the food is good and wholesome and everyone wants to speak to you in english because that is the language they were taught at school the square really rocks at night most of the restaurants and nightclub are to be found underground surely you can understand that a longer stay in the city of krakow is a must and with local flights available is a must. give it a tryPoland Perfect for a long weekend Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Keith Date of travel: 03/03/2007
Warsaw is a large vibrant city, full of interesting architecture, beautiful gardens, buzzing clubs and tasty restaurants, I was very impressed. |
