Playa Del Cura, Gran Canaria, Spain Reviews View Cheap Holidays To Playa Del CuraPlaya Del Cura, Gran Canaria, Spain Their Little Hideaway Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Maya Date of travel: 05/12/2006
Playa Del Cura is a small resort on the south west coast of Gran Canaria. It is built on cliffs that overlook the coast made so that it is low-key. My uncle and aunt call it their little hideaway spot because it is peaceful and not a usual site for tourists. When they want to get out and around they take cheap taxis for Puerto Rico but 95% of their trips are spent in the resort. My uncle and aunt have been back to that resort 4 times. They say that each time it gets better because the people know them by name. This last time they told me that they walked along the rocky coastline and looked over the small valley. They spent a little more time in town than usual because they finally decided to eat at Bistro 22. The other 3 holidays to Playa Del Cura they avoided it because it was known as the most popular at the resort and they like going against the grain. But when they tried it, they did not want to leave. The food was excellent and cooked to perfection. My uncle said that they cook the shrimp just long enough and add special spices to the fish.
I get little gifts of food sent in packages. My relatives buy food from the Spar market and send it home to us. We never get pastries though, despite the fact that my aunt raves about the bakery. They take love in the fact that the beaches are more rocky than sandy. It is easier to walk and run on and more excuse to lounge on beach chairs. Their first trip there they took the Island Tour to make sure that they loved the entire island before they made it their hideaway. It took them all day and the coach ride was bumpy but they keep returning.
