A quiet place, not much in the way of nightlife but there are enough bars, restaurants and shops to keep you entertained. Stayed in the Dom Pedro Baía Club Hotel which overlooks the beach of Machico Bay, it’s an old hotel but the rooms are clean and comfortable just make sure you get a room with a balcony. Food is ok but the choice is fairly limited. Leisure facilities are excellent and there’s a separate pool for children. The resort is surrounded by lots of nature, it offers a superb base for walking. Machico, Madeira, Portugal Rating: 6/10

I stayed in a beautiful hotel based in Machico's resort overlooking a wonderful beach. The hotel staff were amazing, always there to help out and the service they gave was 100%... There was also 3 pools, 2 for the adults and 1 for the kids. There was also a little waterfall in the pool over hanging a small bridge, it also had a little area in between the waterfall where you could relax. The beach had everything you could dream of like; volley ball, pedal boats, jet ski's, scuba diving and much more. It was a fantastic holiday and I will be going back for sure. |
