la Tania is a small resort at the foot of the three valleys and connects v. easily with either Merribel or Courcheval (two lifts away from both). Having read that the resort was family friendly and quiet, our group of six twentysomethings were delighted to find plenty of life in the main strip, with a good selection of bars and restaurants and a lively atmosphere. In terms of the accomodation there are a number of apartment complexes in the village and a wide range of traditional chalets nestles in the hills above. We opted for the latter, staying in a catered Crystal chalet called Chalet Chamois, which was very cosy (real fire etc) and the food prepared by our very hospitable chalet girl Rosie was of the highest order. While not quite ski-in, ski-out, we could access the slopes very easily (maybe a two min walk to get on the slope leading down into La Tania town and the lift leadling to Merribel). I would definitely recommend La Tania as a charming gateway to the huge 3 valleys mountain ranges without the overcrowding of some of the better known resorts in the region. |
