If you decide to go to the tropical paradise that is Hawaii don’t be too concerned with booking everything ahead of time. Once you arrive there are all sorts of program directors who can help you plan your holiday even when you are already there. For low prices!! That is what many of them are there for. Also, it is crazy easy to get a hotel with out pre-arranged everything. I challenged my wife (who likes to plan her trips to Tesco 3 days in advance) to let me take care of the holiday (I am the one who writes 6 page papers 3 hours before it is due). We arrived in Hawaii, walked into our first hotel of choice and were given a nice room at an even nicer rate. These islands are designed for us last minute planners.Hawaii - Allocation on Arrival, Hawaii, USA No holding back No reservation Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Tiny Date of travel: 22/07/2006
We refused to believe that we would have to pay and arm and a leg in pounds in order to go to Hawaii. For this reason my 3 flat mates and I picked an Island, bought the cheapest airfare tickets that we could possibly find and flew to Kauai without any plans or hotel reservations. It took us a good portion of our first day but we found a hotel that was very cheap. Aston Maui Lu Resort had the best prices and still had enough vacancies for walk in. We spent ?20 per person per night which was cheaper than anything that we had found online. From there we learned how to hula dance; the most embarrassing experience of my life because I could never get my hips right. We also swam in water that was replenished by waterfalls. Even though it was not as easy as we thought it would be, going without plans and reservations did prove successful and much cheaper. |
