Guia, Portugal is a place that not many people speak of when they mention where they will go on holiday. After my trip there I am utterly confused about why it is not discussed more. Guia has the prettiest and softest beaches out there. Just lovely and innocent. The towns are traditional along with the structures of the buildings. Everyone and everything is simply full of life there. It is full of Olive groves, vineyards, wheat field’s, fields for grazing and farms. For just a little bit of money we took tours of all of these. Beautiful, just beautiful. The people of Portugal were also a nice treat. The air of tradition was about in the form of dances, food, and festivals. They use a lot of olive oil in most of their dishes but it was ok because everything tastes nice. Men and women playing gentle songs out by the water. Singing of hard times and good times. One man sang about the pain of love while a woman spoke of family and the good life. The markets unlike that of which I have seen before full of fresh strong scented flowers, fresh fruit, and a lot of seafood. If I ate seafood I would have never left Guia. There was much to do besides being treated by nature. We swam, enjoyed the restaurants, and learned some Portuguese.

Guia is a historic village, it's full of Piri-Piri houses and the local wine is very cheap - I bought home a bottle of Cliff Richards wine "Vida Nova"!
