Upon visiting the Algarve I saw sights never seen by my eyes before. A wealth of beauty accompanied by the personalities of wonderful town locals. Each one as special as the other, from being friendly to helpful, charming to reassuring and a pleasure to be with; they provided us with the most amazing food and sent us off on our exploration of Portugal with fresh grown oranges from their trees. Having never seen an orange tree before, you really appreicate their beauty in the surroundings of a wonderful motel. The prices low, the scenery high, the food exquisite and the company so amazing that you feel part of what is going on in the area makes you feel right at home and able to enjoy what special time you have allocated to this amazing district of Portugal. My recommendations are to visit with high expectations and a willingness to be part of the town for your trip... not just someone on holiday.Oporto, Grande Oporto, Portugal Nice Resort But Not For Me. Oporto is for the older generation, now I like Portugal but Oporto was to dull for me. I’m also not into ancient history or old buildings etc but it is a nice place though, just not for me. I can't knock the place, there are a lot of things to discover and people who enjoy adventures will love Oporto with out a doubt. But I will stick to the Algarve next time though as I’ve been going there for the past few years and it’s in my comfort zone. I do recommend Oporto for sure.Oporto, Grande Oporto, Portugal What a beautiful place Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Renee Date of travel: 11/05/2007
Oporto is an absolutely beautiful and ancient city, I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. It’s less commercialised than the rest of the Algarve, so perfect for those who want some peace and quiet.Oporto, Grande Oporto, Portugal Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Graham Date of travel: 18/05/2006
Me and my wife enjoyed a nice week in a 5 star hotel in Oporto, Portugal. We walked in the city and enjoyed luxury food and wine. We toured the Ponte de D. Luis iron bridge and the 12th Century Cathedral or se. The hotel was superb, A/C balcony, en suite, very spacious and top of the range food and service. You can live like a King in Oporto and enjoy great attractions and good wine tasting tours. Fantastic. |
