Hi, I went to Caleta de Fuste last year with a friend and we were after some relaxation. That is exactly what we found. The place is amazing - natural beaches with white sands, great appartments mostly studio appartments and very very cheap. It is the closest you will get to the Caribbean but only 4 hrs away. Stunning weather as well - sunshine throughout the year - no winter in Fuerteventure. Always hot. I loved it so much that i am planning to buy a holiday home there. Deffinitly a place to visit and see all the beautiful scenery.

Jandia, Fuerteventura, Spain Please stay Away!!!!!!!!

Please please do not go to any where near Jandia/ Morro jable. the beaches are not beautiful! the people are not friendly! the weather is not gorgeous! the food is not fantastic! its not the most relaxed place i've found on the earth! all of the above is of cousre a lie, but if its stops people going, and it stops this beautiful part of the world being commercialised by the invasion of us brits then fine. all the better for me. Mcdonalds etc etc leave this part of the island alone. its the one place you can truly get a spanish experience (ok theres a few Germans there) but they are cool. they understand that this place needs leaving as it is. so please heed the first part of this review and dont go!!!!! stick to correlego if you want sunday roasts, english breakfast etc etc this is canarian! not England! stay way. ps i'm English and love the place, but you guessed that right??

Jandia, Fuerteventura, Spain not a hotel to return too

I stayed in the Jandia Player Fuerteventrua for a week. The hotel is self was very clean, good food but very orientated towards the Germans. Like always they had all the sunloungers and not once in a week did i get a chance of one grrrr. The walk to the local shops was all down hill so hence a taxi for the return journey. I would not want to go back to this hotel.

Jandia, Fuerteventura, Spain Spot on!

Jandia is a great holiday getaway. Just like any other holiday resort I have been too but that tiny bit better. The beach is close by with great water sports going on and plenty of restaurants and bars about too. Barcelo Jandia Mar hotel is located right next to the beach and the sea breeze is awesome, it can get really hot a times so the location was spot on. And the night life was cool too, Head to Caleta de Fuste and Corralejo, that’s where the best night life and bars are. Cool holiday.

You cannot find one fault with the humungous beaches in Jandia they are absolutely brilliant, you will be able to relax on the nice soft sand or enjoy a few water sport activities. The beach is where you will find most people hang around however make sure you get to the tax-free shops close by and pick up some great bargains. If you fancy a day away from the beach you can make a short journey to the Jandia National Park. All in all Jandia is the perfect holiday destination and I will definitely be going back at some point to enjoy some more relaxing days on that wonderful beach!

Nuevo Horizonte, Fuerteventura, Spain Could Have Been Better

Rating: 5/10
Submitted by: Bill
Date of travel: 13/06/2007

Nuevo Horizonte was a mediocre resort that was close to many other lovable holiday places. The resort at times was unbearably quiet so we had to get out. It was only a £2.50 ride by taxi to Caleta de Fuste and Corralejo. Caleta de Fuste was stunning and the beaches on Corralejo are marvelous. In Nuevo Horizante the beaches were pretty because of the rocks instead of the sand, but difficult to walk on. At night there were only two places of entertainment and once you visited those you became slightly bored. We stayed in the La Pyramide apartments which were well furnished but the building looked like it needed some work done on it. Most times that we jumped on the free bus that took us to the Caleta de Fuste resort for more food and entertainment options. During our late nights we took taxis back. The resort could have been a little cleaner but the people were amiable.

Me and my girlfriend at the time, now my wife stayed at the Galleon Beach resort in Antigua, Fuerteventura and was thrilled to bit with everything. We was so close to the beach it was unreal, and the pool was also overlooking the sea as well. We got a ride on a speed boat, but that was expensive and we also took a boat trip to another island close by. In the evening we went out of the resort and walked across the beach, which was very romantic, thats when I proposed to my girlfriend. It was a memorable holiday thats for sure.

Costa Calma, Fuerteventura, Spain Costa Calma here we come.

This is my 3rd time to Costa Calma but the 1st time in the Hotel Rio Calma, its the most beautiful hotel going. Once you step outside the hotel you are basically on the beach, its great. It had its own waterfall, and a pool that is right to the edge of the sea now you can't beat that. The main road into the resort is a view with palm trees and Cabary pines. In the evening time you could enjoy a variety of entertainment such as live music, stand ups and cabaret. Or you can just go to on of the cosy bars/restaurants and watch the world go by with a cocktail in your hand, the world is your oyster here in Costa Calma. I really enjoyed it and i'm definitely going to go back.

Playa Barca, Fuerteventura, Spain I recommend Playa Barca.

Me, my husband and my 3 children stayed at the Melia Gorriones hotel and was happy with the service we received. With 3 children its hard to do anything but with kids activites through out the day time it made our life much more easier. In the morning time we would go for breakfast and then head for the beach which is located 5 minutes walk away, then we would go on the resort train and explore the resort to the full, then we would stop for lunch before heading back to the hotel to prepare for the evening. The hotel catered most entertainment but there was also things to do out side of the resprt too. I enjoyed my stay in Playa Barca and would recommend going back.

Jandia was an ok resort, the beach was nice but the resort its self wasn't much to look at. There was the basic shop and only had 2 bars and 2 restaurants, you had to go out side of Jandia to get what you was looking for. One of the days I had a go at horse riding, i've never been on a horse before and I wouldn't do it again, it's very scary. I will still to sunbathing in stead.

Caleta de Fuste, Fuerteventura, Spain Golf facilities are tremendous

I went to Caleta de Fuste with a group of pals and stayed at the Elba Palace Golf hotel. I'm a big fan of golf and enjoyed every last moment of my stay in the resort. The hotel was 5 star, the room was luxury with en suite and a king sized bed, balcony over looking the superb pool area and the gold course to round the back of the hotel. I would normally get on the golf course for 9am at the very latest and stay their for most of the day then return to the hotel for the evening 3 course meal. There was a restaurant, bars and shops on the resort and also great activities other than golf. I have already booked my holiday in the same holtel and resort for next year, this time I will be taking my wife along.

Me and my fiancee stayed at the Barcelo Fuerteventura Hotel, it had 3 pools, small, medium and large and was also very close to the beach, if you lookied out onto the balcony you could see the ocean. You was awoken by the sea 1st thing of a morning and that was a beautiful thing. Very relaxing and peaceful. The resort was also nice, with a selection of tourist shops and bars, and you could also hire a bike for the day so you could explore the whole of the resort in full. In the evening me and my fiancee enjoyed romantic meals and a few cocktails and then headed back to the hotel and sat on the balcony just relaxing.

Corralejo, Fuerteventura, Spain Sun Surf Sangria!

I went to Fuerteventura with a friend a few years ago. We were still at uni then and looking for a bit of fun and a break from reading and revising! And we got exactly that! We stayed at the Dunas Hotel in Corralejo. Their Luna bar is friendly and cheap but was a bit too family friendly for us. The pool was nice and the gym. But the real fun was to be had in the town just a short walk away. The seafood, the cheap alcohol and the REALLY lovely local people made our holiday! The great thing about Fuerteventura is it's not as developed as the other canary islands. We were able to drive out to the sand dunes in the middle of the night and see shooting stars. And the surfing in fantastic! You can get a boat from Corralejo to Lobos Island which I highly recommend. Make the effort to climb the volcano. The views accross the bay and You can also get a ferry to Lanzarote for the day if you fancy seeing black volcanic sandy beaches! Personally I would steer clear of the other canary islands! The beaches in Corralejo are stunning white sands! La Oliva is worth a visit too. You can get a bus from Corralejo. There are windmills and a couple of restaurants. There are also some old ruins and a volcano with a stunning crater. I fell in love with Corralejo and after a week there I was gutted we had to leave. The plane was cancelled on the way back but Thomas Cook put us in a posh hotel (barcelo caleta de fuste - if i remember correctly) near the airport so we had an extra night for free! Amazing holiday experience that anyone would love!
