Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Gerry Date of travel: 25/05/2006 What a great place, you have to see it for your self to believe the beauty of it. Top bunch of locals and there were some great market stalls for buying stuff. I love shopping; I found plenty of presents for everyone back home. The people love a good old haggle too, I got a pair of shoes for 40 euros that should of been 65 euros, I though that was good going for me. The hotel we stayed at was small, but clean so that’s all that mattered. I would take a tour of the old villages that were a few miles from the resort; people were still living in some of the old run down buildings. It’s amazing what you come across. The beach is nice and sandy, with clean calm sea, you could take a boat ride round the island but I never bothered as I was to busy enjoying my own tours. I would walk along the beach front, I also came across a huge rocky mountain what you cold dive off into the sea, scary but fun. It's worth a second visit. I was shopping! Our hotel was just outside of estepona. Great town with a huge carrefour and on the other side of town a farmers market. I found some gorgeous handbags and jewellery and clothes. As well as fresh flowers, vegetables and spices. So glad we went self catering! Cooked loads of great dinners with gorgeous fresh ingredients!
