Great place to holiday if you are after peace, quiet and calm conversation. Elounda is a remarkably charming resort section. There are several small villages that are very close together where you can go around and hold dinner or conversations with the people. If they see that you are not from around the area they invite you to chat and eat. Bring wine and a smile and expect a good time. Outside of the villages is a harbor which is worth visiting. Schisma is the main street on which you will shop for holiday necessities and gifts. Although there are several villages it in no way resembles a large town or noisy city. It is big and modern enough to have banks, books, story and a small cinema. The pharmacies look top notch and if you are looking for a place that has more variety than Camden town, this is the place every Friday morning. Needless to say that weekends start a day early here. |
