What a fabulous holiday cruising down the nile and stopping off at several places of interest along the way. The views were amazing. Lots of temples and my favourite place was the valley of the kings. I would reccommend this holiday to anybody.Egypt Charming Sharm Break Rating: 10/10

We went to Sharm El Sheik in January and it was a great holiday with Thomson. The hotel was good the food and service were good, the package was everything it said it would be. We will definately go back soon. A holiday is what you make it, nothing is ever perfect but if you have the right attitude it can be a memorable experience.Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Nabq Bay avoid it Rating: 8/10

Just got back froSharm & must say the Sunrise Tirana Aqua Park hotel is magnificent with its 8 swimming pools & 14 big slides. The hotel is spotless & the staff were 1'st class & so polite. The only downside being the hotel is in the middle of no-where so you are restricted to the hotel unless you want to take a 20 min taxi ride into Naama Bay. The hotel is a great place for families. Food in the buffet resturaunt was'nt all that great however there is the Italian & Lebanese resturaunts which were a lot better. Would have been great if there was nightlife in Nabq Bay. Loved Egypt & will try somewhere livlier next time.Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt egypt Rating: 8/10

Great holiday,
was a fantastic all inclusive and well worth it.
sea was lovley and you can go diving and see the wonderful fish, and take a camel ride along the beach. great entertainment in the evenings. didnt want to come home.

Sultan Gardens is one of the most friendliest hotel that I've been in because me, being a younger person to visit their, their was a children zone and I got to join in with games, and their is a club that you can join instead of your parents making you do what they want, sunbathe, go to the beach etc. even though when I went to the beach it was amazing their was so much to do, the clear blue water - nothing in it like the beaches next to other hotels with all the seawead and rocks etc. you can even walk across a walk way on the sea and sea all the big, small or rainbow like fish. The pool is so refreshing their is a bit for children and for adults too.their is also a bar with food and beverages for when when ever you like. The rooms are imaculate and if their is a problem with anything you can ask and they will fix it staight away so overall sultan gardens is an recommended hotel and I would give it 9 out of 10 - I would definately go their again, child or adult.Egypt Hot Hot Hot Rating: 9/10

My Gran and Grandad have been to Egypt about 10 times now and they have always wanted me to go with them and show me the incredible things. Ive always thought its not my cup of tea but then i got there and WOW! what a great place for any age! I loved the people as they wer so nice and helpful, great choices on what to do in the day i really enjoyed snorkling. Every location is diffrent in egypt - it never seems to be the same place. ive been the 3 times now and going again next year when ive saved my pennies!Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Sun Sea Sand Rating: 9/10

Beautiful area, very well looked after, great hotels and a nice tourist shopping area. The locals can be pushy and conflict with what is a very relaxing beach holiday to get your custom. I was offered an apple for 60 Dollars! As the guides say Haggle! The desert is great and full of fun things to do like quad biking, camel rides and sitting in bedowin tents drinking tea but the highlight of the holiday is snorkeling or scuba. There is so much life in the sea, I saw a shark who couldnt care less I was there, a moray eel 8 feet long, massive grouper fish and a barracuda which I didnt realise had teeth hanging off its face untill I was really close. Sea 10/10, Beach 10/10, Hotel 10/10 People 7/10.Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Fantastic Holiday Rating: 10/10

Everyone in the area is friendly and you feel safe due to all the security there. However feel a little intimidated sometimes. The red sea is lovely and the sealife is amazing...worth getting in and exploring. I am defiantly returning this year :)Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Four seasons resort Rating: 10/10

From the moment you walk into the hotel you know you are in a five start hotel and it is everything you'd expect from a 5 star resort. We stayed in a two bedroom Gezira suite which was fabulous. Food was of a high standard but it gets a bit repetitive after a week but this didnt let the hotel down. Rooms were extremely clean and staff were very polite if you had any queries. would recomend for honeymooners and couples Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt Sharm has the charm Rating: 10/10

Sharm is an excellent holiday location for value for money and good weather. Lots to do..we did lots of diving and even quad bikibg through desert. People are very friendly and ocean is fanastic. Beaches quite stoney, but beautiful hotels make up for it. Boat trips are a must! All inclusive is really good value for money here! Suits couples bestEl Gouna, Egypt Red Sea Rating: 10/10

Egypt is a wicked destination - if you can take the heat! Lovely hotels, clear blue sea and guarnteed sunshine...heaven. We have been a few times and have done all the sights, but now go back for the beaches and weather!Taba Heights, Egypt We just keep going back Rating: 10/10

Until we discovered the Marriott in Taba Heights, we used to take holidays everywhere.
Now we take at least one holiday a year in Taba, and just love going back to it.
Why? It's the whole package, of Service, Facilities, Food, great Snorkling right off the beach, and all the interesting Trips you could ask for (if you can drag yourself off the (included, of course) sun lounger.
We have now been to the Marriott in Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. They are all great.Egypt beatyful egypt Rating: 10/10

I went to Nuweiba Bay in Egypt for my 25th wedding anniversary, with my husband, brother, and brothers girlfriend. We stayed at the Hilton Resort, and it was perfect!! It was beautiful, exceptionally clean, very pretty and attractive, the staff were so polite, but very friendly, and took great care of us. The holiday was our present from my brother and his girlfriend, and it was fabulous. The beach was gorgeous, and I learned to swim before we went, so that I could snorkel in the red sea, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!! To actually see the coral reefs, with the fishes swimming round it, was amazing! The staff at the resort made a beautiful anniversary cake for my husband and I on the evening of our anniversary, and performed a dance for us. It was quite sepctacular. At night, the little boardwalk was all lit up, and was very romantic, looking over the sea. In fact, it was so romantic, that my brother and his girlfriend got engaged there, on our last night!! Went 2006 and 2007 first time just 1 wk Nile cruise last year Nile again then on to Hurgharda for 1 wk. Was the first time I had been abroad nearly 50 and first time abroad and I chose Egypt. The temples the valley of the kings and queens was just amazing Abu Simbel wow that was breathe taking. The people are so friendly the boat staff are so helpful and the Red Sea is great. this is our 2nd time to egypt and the st george, what a great time we had. weather fantastic, hotel so clean and staff all so helpful, food good. plenty of places to visit and activities to do if you wanted to. you cannot fault this place, and you can go into naama bay and shop till you drop, or you can visit cairo and there is so much more if you want to do it. we chilled out alot by the pool and on the private beach, and came back home very relaxed. all in all a great time and would reccomend it.Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt golden resort sharm Rating: 4/10

Luxor was great, the people are great apart from them feeling that all people from the UK are millionaires. I spent time on the hot air balloons, valley of the kings and queens and loads of time on the nile just relaxing on the felluca's. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays i've been on. I stayed at the Sheraton hotel which is great because it's not right in the centre of luxor where it's loud and bustling all the time, but at the same time you can get to those areas within 10mins. If you are good at haggling and getting on with the locals before you book anythng see what they can do for you. I was quoted £170 for my hot air balloon ride by a tour operator, one of the egyptian guys got myself and a friend a hot air ballon ride for £30 each, all he wanted in return was £5 i jumped at the chance. If you don't know how to mix with the locals though stick to booking thngs through your hotel, more expensive but safer.Luxor, Egypt Luxor My Second Home Rating: 10/10

I cannot praise Luxor enough I just love the place, we have been going there for over 30 years, it has changed a lot, which is a shame in some ways, but the people are still the same some of the friendliest in the world, and make a friend with an egyptian and they are friends for life. The hotel standards are fantastic, and food is wonderful. For a basic hotel the Queens Valley hotel is clean, lovely size rooms, and great staff. Of course the sights are breathtaking Valley of the Kings, and Queens are a must, and Karnak temple is awe inspiring and if you want to go back to Egypt you must walk around the scarab in Karnak "its worked for us". There is also Habu temple which a lot of people miss, but it is has fantastic wall carvings of Ramses. The nile with its felucca's and motor boats, and of course the cruise boats, a felucca ride at sunset is magical. The market which sells anything you want, clothes, spices, food etc, and loads of little coffee shops where if you are inclined can smoke the bubble pipes with a choice of flavours. Of course the weather which is always great with blue skies and sun, 2 weeks is not enough to see everything so I am sure like me you will be hooked and want to see it all and go back and see it all.Taba, Egypt Do not underestimate Taba Rating: 10/10

This is one of the most underestimated places in Egypt and doesn’t get the same attentions as some of the other cities in Egypt. Taba is a beautiful place with great history and activities to keep you entertained. There are great spots for water based activities like snorkelling and scuba diving in the fantastic clear water. One attraction you do not want to miss is a trip to Pharaoh’s Island where you can see lots of historical remains. There are plenty of other great attractions to see as well around the city so make sure you take the time to explore.Cairo, Egypt Majestic Sights Rating: 10/10

So much to see and explore in Cairo. I have heard much about Cairo but never before about the bazaars. They were very very very nice and full of the most incredible things. Items made out of bronze and nice trinkets made from hand. It was like it came out of an old movie, I did not think that bazaars like that were real. We got amazing things that we bargained down the prices for. We took nice day trips to see the majestic pyramids and the sphinx. High standing with great presence and power. There were a number of lovely mosques and old churches to see in addition. Inside it looked like old days that were preserved very nicely. My mother took fancy to Al-Azhar Park where there was perfect greenery placed in the middle of the tan colored city. It had special water characteristics and buildings of unique architecture. A must do on my suggestion agenda is the Imhotep Museum. We have been hearing about him in text books for centuries and it was nice going to a place of things of him that you can see face to face. Cairo is a superb holiday destination and I tell any I see to go.Taba, Egypt Taba is very peaceful. Rating: 7/10

I really liked Taba, Egypt. The sea is full of little fishes and you can also snorkel so you get the full experience of swimming with fishes. Morgana beach resort is where me and my 2 friends stayed, it was very relaxing and comfortable. I could live here as it’s so peaceful, there was enough to keep me happy, I'm not a big party animal but I’m also not a bore as well and the entertainment was minimal but enough to keep us awake. Great atmosphere, sandy beaches and fabulous sea life! Went on a couple of trips, one to the Sahara desert and one on a glass bottom boat. The food is great and nightlife plentiful. I would recommend this resort to everyone!Naama Bay, Egypt great recommendation Rating: 9/10

Naama Bay is an exquisite resort in the south of Egypt, which was recommended to us by a family friend. We enjoyed a wonderful time on the clean beach ideal for kids and there are plenty of fairly priced restaurants and shops. I went to Nabq with my mum, dad and brother. Mum and I had massages and lay on the beach/by the pool. Dad and Sean took to the water and enjoyed the watersports. We all loved the historical stuff (pyramids, museums, ruins) and the food was excellent. Really good place for everyone which for my family is rare! The scenery was gorgeous. I am normally a spontaneous unpackaged holiday travller: fly somewhere, find somewhere to stay, hang out in strange places with my girlfriend and a backpack sort of thing. This was the first time we booked an All inclusive packaged holiday. I thought I would hate it but I loved it. Even the alcohol was included. the food was excellent and there were loads of activities and my girlfriend hardly left the spa. Having never left London more than a handful of times, the thing that actually stunned me in egypt were the stars. I've never seen so many in my life. We camped out in the desert and got to ride in a jeep on the dunes. I dont like camels! trip to the pyramids was awesome. bit claustrophobic though!Taba Heights, Egypt Rating: 10/10

I went to Egypt with the girls last year. We had the best time! Be wary of the men in egypt and dont inadvertantly sell your friend for some camels! The diving is amazing. Makes you think why they bother sending ships into space when there's so much to see down here!

Went to Taba in a big group. Was ok but I'm not a big fan of the heat. I burn really easily. And I didn't take to scuba diving and I dont do museums... why did i go to egypt you may ask... well lesson of the story is dont follow your mates everytime they plan a holiday. Diving Diving Diving! Never done so much diving in my life! THe reefs in the red sea are so beautiful. I had never done scuba diving before but took to it quite well and the instructors are really good. Our hotel was great. Didn't spend as much time in the hotel as I'd have liked... but that's the problem when the place is so interesting AND the hotel is amazing! Will have to go back again.El Gouna, Egypt Rating: 10/10

Decided not to do Christmas that year and go on holiday instead. Best decision of my life so far! Who wants snow at christmas? I had sand and lots of it! The service in egypt is to die for. If you get off a sun lounger and turn around you will find a fresh towel has magically appeared as if placed there by a pixie! Took a while to get used to being served on hand and foot but I got over it very quickly! Food was excellent and the red sea is just stunning! would definitely go back.Dahab, Egypt Rating: 10/10

I didn't do anything except eat and sleep the whole time and i loved every minute of it. Ok I did climb mount Sinai and did a bit of diving, both of which were amazing but on the whole I just chilled out and drank cocktails and ate seafood. What more could you want from a holiday?! I spent 2 weeks in Egypt and Aswan was definitely the most relaxing resort I stayed in. THe Nubian museum is so interesting. I'm really into egyptian history so spent a whole day there! Also plenty of Nubian villages from ancient times to nose around. There are temples and souks to visit and the nile was right on our doorstep. We hired a boat and spent a day just drifting. If all you want from a holiday is sun sand and sangria then go to the costa del sol... Aswan is so much more!Hurghada, Egypt Rating: 10/10

Hurghada was the best holiday i have ever been on. The Red Sea is simply stunning and provides so much entertainment from beaches to snorkiling, scuba diving and the glass bottom boat trip was really cool. I had a ride on a camel. Bit scary but cool! Last winter I had the honor to spend 10 days in Cairo, Egypt with my mother and two sisters. It was my last trip with them before I flew off to graduate school and it was a trip that I will always remember. Cairo is the capital of Egypt and is one of the biggest cities in Africa. It gave us so much to do from night life to day trips around the entire city. On our first day we marveled at the beautiful Roman, Jewish and Islamic history seen in the buildings and expressed in the words of our tour guide. Later, we got to see the place where the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus rested after their journey from Palestine. We got to visit the Nile and actually collect some of the water as souvenir; my sister wanted to take a sip for adventure sake. Another cool story that I got to tell my friends was how amazing were the Pyramids and the Sphinx that you can see on a day tour. And don't get me started on the food. You must try Koshari which is their version of fast food. After lunch hang out at the hanging church then hop over to Coptic Museum. And sleep?..no one really sleeps in Cairo. The Bailey girls had a great time there together and want to come back when the Bailey boys make their trip. Luxor, Egypt Rating: 8/10

Luxor is ideal for anyone interested in the history of Egypt, there is so much to see and i had so little time however i did manage to get myself to the Luxor museum where i saw the tomb of Ramesses. The mummification museum was very interesting where you learn about the process they used to use to mummify not only humans but animals as well. Make sure you got your walking boots on for your visit to the Valley of the Kings made even more famous by the discovery of the tomb of Tutenkhamun. This place was really good and the re is also a valley of the Queens which i missed out on but i am guessing that its probably just as good. Luxor is excellent for an informative and exciting holiday.Cairo, Egypt Rating: 7/10

Egypt has always facinated me with all the stories about it being the most advanced civilisation and all that stuff. I luckily got a chance to visit Cairo this month and it was a very pleasent experience. Although it is a pretty crowded city, it is very different from the other cities i a have visited. The city is developing very rapidly and has become very modern in terms of its transport system and buildings. If you go to Cairo you must go to the Egyptian Museum its absolutely fantastic. the Cairo Tower is a pleasant site to view and make sure you do some shopping at the markets, yu can pick up really cool stuff at bargain prices.

Beautiful area, very well looked after, great hotels and a nice tourist shopping area. The locals can be pushy and conflict with what is a very relaxing beach holiday to get your custom. I was offered an apple for 60 Dollars! As the guides say Haggle! The desert is great and full of fun things to do like quad biking, camel rides and sitting in bedowin tents drinking tea but the highlight of the holiday is snorkeling or scuba. There is so much life in the sea, I saw a shark who couldnt care less I was there, a moray eel 8 feet long, massive grouper fish and a barracuda which I didnt realise had teeth hanging off its face untill I was really close. Everyone in the area is friendly and you feel safe due to all the security there. However feel a little intimidated sometimes. The red sea is lovely and the sealife is amazing...worth getting in and exploring. I am defiantly returning this year :)Egypt Four seasons resort Rating: 10/10

From the moment you walk into the hotel you know you are in a five start hotel and it is everything you'd expect from a 5 star resort. We stayed in a two bedroom Gezira suite which was fabulous. Food was of a high standard but it gets a bit repetitive after a week but this didnt let the hotel down. Rooms were extremely clean and staff were very polite if you had any queries. would recomend for honeymooners and couples Egypt Sharm has the charm Rating: 10/10

Sharm is an excellent holiday location for value for money and good weather. Lots to do..we did lots of diving and even quad bikibg through desert. People are very friendly and ocean is fanastic. Beaches quite stoney, but beautiful hotels make up for it. Boat trips are a must! All inclusive is really good value for money here! Suits couples bestEgypt Red Sea Rating: 10/10

Until we discovered the Marriott in Taba Heights, we used to take holidays everywhere.
Now we take at least one holiday a year in Taba, and just love going back to it.
Why? It's the whole package, of Service, Facilities, Food, great Snorkling right off the beach, and all the interesting Trips you could ask for (if you can drag yourself off the (included, of course) sun lounger.
We have now been to the Marriott in Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn. They are all great.Egypt beatyful egypt Rating: 10/10

I went to Nuweiba Bay in Egypt for my 25th wedding anniversary, with my husband, brother, and brothers girlfriend. We stayed at the Hilton Resort, and it was perfect!! It was beautiful, exceptionally clean, very pretty and attractive, the staff were so polite, but very friendly, and took great care of us. The holiday was our present from my brother and his girlfriend, and it was fabulous. The beach was gorgeous, and I learned to swim before we went, so that I could snorkel in the red sea, and it was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life!! To actually see the coral reefs, with the fishes swimming round it, was amazing! The staff at the resort made a beautiful anniversary cake for my husband and I on the evening of our anniversary, and performed a dance for us. It was quite sepctacular. At night, the little boardwalk was all lit up, and was very romantic, looking over the sea. In fact, it was so romantic, that my brother and his girlfriend got engaged there, on our last night!! Went 2006 and 2007 first time just 1 wk Nile cruise last year Nile again then on to Hurgharda for 1 wk. Was the first time I had been abroad nearly 50 and first time abroad and I chose Egypt. The temples the valley of the kings and queens was just amazing Abu Simbel wow that was breathe taking. The people are so friendly the boat staff are so helpful and the Red Sea is great. this is our 2nd time to egypt and the st george, what a great time we had. weather fantastic, hotel so clean and staff all so helpful, food good. plenty of places to visit and activities to do if you wanted to. you cannot fault this place, and you can go into naama bay and shop till you drop, or you can visit cairo and there is so much more if you want to do it. we chilled out alot by the pool and on the private beach, and came back home very relaxed. all in all a great time and would reccomend it.Egypt golden resort sharm Rating: 4/10

Luxor was great, the people are great apart from them feeling that all people from the UK are millionaires. I spent time on the hot air balloons, valley of the kings and queens and loads of time on the nile just relaxing on the felluca's. It was one of the most enjoyable holidays i've been on. I stayed at the Sheraton hotel which is great because it's not right in the centre of luxor where it's loud and bustling all the time, but at the same time you can get to those areas within 10mins. If you are good at haggling and getting on with the locals before you book anythng see what they can do for you. I was quoted £170 for my hot air balloon ride by a tour operator, one of the egyptian guys got myself and a friend a hot air ballon ride for £30 each, all he wanted in return was £5 i jumped at the chance. If you don't know how to mix with the locals though stick to booking thngs through your hotel, more expensive but safer.Egypt Luxor My Second Home Rating: 10/10

I cannot praise Luxor enough I just love the place, we have been going there for over 30 years, it has changed a lot, which is a shame in some ways, but the people are still the same some of the friendliest in the world, and make a friend with an egyptian and they are friends for life. The hotel standards are fantastic, and food is wonderful. For a basic hotel the Queens Valley hotel is clean, lovely size rooms, and great staff. Of course the sights are breathtaking Valley of the Kings, and Queens are a must, and Karnak temple is awe inspiring and if you want to go back to Egypt you must walk around the scarab in Karnak "its worked for us". There is also Habu temple which a lot of people miss, but it is has fantastic wall carvings of Ramses. The nile with its felucca's and motor boats, and of course the cruise boats, a felucca ride at sunset is magical. The market which sells anything you want, clothes, spices, food etc, and loads of little coffee shops where if you are inclined can smoke the bubble pipes with a choice of flavours. Of course the weather which is always great with blue skies and sun, 2 weeks is not enough to see everything so I am sure like me you will be hooked and want to see it all and go back and see it all.Egypt Do not underestimate Taba Rating: 10/10

This is one of the most underestimated places in Egypt and doesn’t get the same attentions as some of the other cities in Egypt. Taba is a beautiful place with great history and activities to keep you entertained. There are great spots for water based activities like snorkelling and scuba diving in the fantastic clear water. One attraction you do not want to miss is a trip to Pharaoh’s Island where you can see lots of historical remains. There are plenty of other great attractions to see as well around the city so make sure you take the time to explore.Egypt Majestic Sights Rating: 10/10

So much to see and explore in Cairo. I have heard much about Cairo but never before about the bazaars. They were very very very nice and full of the most incredible things. Items made out of bronze and nice trinkets made from hand. It was like it came out of an old movie, I did not think that bazaars like that were real. We got amazing things that we bargained down the prices for. We took nice day trips to see the majestic pyramids and the sphinx. High standing with great presence and power. There were a number of lovely mosques and old churches to see in addition. Inside it looked like old days that were preserved very nicely. My mother took fancy to Al-Azhar Park where there was perfect greenery placed in the middle of the tan colored city. It had special water characteristics and buildings of unique architecture. A must do on my suggestion agenda is the Imhotep Museum. We have been hearing about him in text books for centuries and it was nice going to a place of things of him that you can see face to face. Cairo is a superb holiday destination and I tell any I see to go.Egypt Taba is very peaceful. Rating: 7/10

I really liked Taba, Egypt. The sea is full of little fishes and you can also snorkel so you get the full experience of swimming with fishes. Morgana beach resort is where me and my 2 friends stayed, it was very relaxing and comfortable. I could live here as it’s so peaceful, there was enough to keep me happy, I'm not a big party animal but I’m also not a bore as well and the entertainment was minimal but enough to keep us awake. Naama Bay is an exquisite resort in the south of Egypt, which was recommended to us by a family friend. We enjoyed a wonderful time on the clean beach ideal for kids and there are plenty of fairly priced restaurants and shops. We enjoyed a lovely stroll along the pedestrian roads of Naama Bay and the weather was perfect. Egypt Rating: 10/10

I went to Nabq with my mum, dad and brother. Mum and I had massages and lay on the beach/by the pool. Dad and Sean took to the water and enjoyed the watersports. We all loved the historical stuff (pyramids, museums, ruins) and the food was excellent. Really good place for everyone which for my family is rare! The scenery was gorgeous. I am normally a spontaneous unpackaged holiday travller: fly somewhere, find somewhere to stay, hang out in strange places with my girlfriend and a backpack sort of thing. This was the first time we booked an All inclusive packaged holiday. I thought I would hate it but I loved it. Even the alcohol was included. the food was excellent and there were loads of activities and my girlfriend hardly left the spa. Diving was really fun and the excursions to the desert, pyramids and Cairo were fascinating.Egypt Rating: 10/10

Having never left London more than a handful of times, the thing that actually stunned me in egypt were the stars. I've never seen so many in my life. We camped out in the desert and got to ride in a jeep on the dunes. I dont like camels! trip to the pyramids was awesome. bit claustrophobic though!Egypt Rating: 10/10

I went to Egypt with the girls last year. We had the best time! Be wary of the men in egypt and dont inadvertantly sell your friend for some camels! The diving is amazing. Makes you think why they bother sending ships into space when there's so much to see down here!

Went to Taba in a big group. Was ok but I'm not a big fan of the heat. I burn really easily. And I didn't take to scuba diving and I dont do museums... why did i go to egypt you may ask... well lesson of the story is dont follow your mates everytime they plan a holiday. Diving Diving Diving! Never done so much diving in my life! THe reefs in the red sea are so beautiful. I had never done scuba diving before but took to it quite well and the instructors are really good. Our hotel was great. Didn't spend as much time in the hotel as I'd have liked... but that's the problem when the place is so interesting AND the hotel is amazing! Will have to go back again.Egypt Rating: 10/10

Decided not to do Christmas that year and go on holiday instead. Best decision of my life so far! Who wants snow at christmas? I had sand and lots of it! The service in egypt is to die for. If you get off a sun lounger and turn around you will find a fresh towel has magically appeared as if placed there by a pixie! Took a while to get used to being served on hand and foot but I got over it very quickly! Food was excellent and the red sea is just stunning! would definitely go back.Egypt Rating: 10/10

I didn't do anything except eat and sleep the whole time and i loved every minute of it. Ok I did climb mount Sinai and did a bit of diving, both of which were amazing but on the whole I just chilled out and drank cocktails and ate seafood. What more could you want from a holiday?! I spent 2 weeks in Egypt and Aswan was definitely the most relaxing resort I stayed in. THe Nubian museum is so interesting. I'm really into egyptian history so spent a whole day there! Also plenty of Nubian villages from ancient times to nose around. There are temples and souks to visit and the nile was right on our doorstep. We hired a boat and spent a day just drifting. If all you want from a holiday is sun sand and sangria then go to the costa del sol... Aswan is so much more!Egypt Rating: 10/10

Hurghada was the best holiday i have ever been on. The Red Sea is simply stunning and provides so much entertainment from beaches to snorkiling, scuba diving and the glass bottom boat trip was really cool. I had a ride on a camel. Bit scary but cool! Last winter I had the honor to spend 10 days in Cairo, Egypt with my mother and two sisters. It was my last trip with them before I flew off to graduate school and it was a trip that I will always remember. Cairo is the capital of Egypt and is one of the biggest cities in Africa. It gave us so much to do from night life to day trips around the entire city. On our first day we marveled at the beautiful Roman, Jewish and Islamic history seen in the buildings and expressed in the words of our tour guide. Later, we got to see the place where the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus rested after their journey from Palestine. We got to visit the Nile and actually collect some of the water as souvenir; my sister wanted to take a sip for adventure sake. Another cool story that I got to tell my friends was how amazing were the Pyramids and the Sphinx that you can see on a day tour. And don't get me started on the food. You must try Koshari which is their version of fast food. After lunch hang out at the hanging church then hop over to Coptic Museum. And sleep?..no one really sleeps in Cairo. The Bailey girls had a great time there together and want to come back when the Bailey boys make their trip. Egypt Rating: 8/10

Luxor is ideal for anyone interested in the history of Egypt, there is so much to see and i had so little time however i did manage to get myself to the Luxor museum where i saw the tomb of Ramesses. The mummification museum was very interesting where you learn about the process they used to use to mummify not only humans but animals as well. Make sure you got your walking boots on for your visit to the Valley of the Kings made even more famous by the discovery of the tomb of Tutenkhamun. This place was really good and the re is also a valley of the Queens which i missed out on but i am guessing that its probably just as good. Luxor is excellent for an informative and exciting holiday.Egypt Rating: 7/10

Egypt has always facinated me with all the stories about it being the most advanced civilisation and all that stuff. I luckily got a chance to visit Cairo this month and it was a very pleasent experience. Although it is a pretty crowded city, it is very different from the other cities i a have visited. The city is developing very rapidly and has become very modern in terms of its transport system and buildings. If you go to Cairo you must go to the Egyptian Museum its absolutely fantastic. the Cairo Tower is a pleasant site to view and make sure you do some shopping at the markets, yu can pick up really cool stuff at bargain prices. |
