Costa del Sol, Spain Reviews View Cheap Holidays To Costa del SolCosta del Sol, Spain Costa del Sol is good. Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Georgia Date of travel: 11/04/2005
The Costa del Sol was cool, I went with my mum, dad, brother and sister and all we did mostly was hit the pool or go to the beach. It was nice and hot, I got a top sun tan but our hotel was small especially with 5 people cramped in there. Me and my sister would go on little walks and explore the resort, we would come across small villages, with narrow streets and we’d sneak off to the theme park and go on the rides. One of the days we all went to this water park, it wasn't big but it was fun, I went in a rock pool where you could climb the rocks as far as you could and jump in the water below. My sister went down this huge slide and when she got to the bottom her bikini top was hanging off, hahahaha funny! And the wave pool was cool 2, the waves were huge and sucked you under, that was scary at times. We also went into Costa del Sol centre and went and explored the castles, there was a few cannons and other ancient history stuff there as well, I had my picture taken when I was sat on one of the cannons with my sister, then we would go and have some lunch in the café’s built in the grounds. In the evening we would all go to a few of the family bars and watch the entertainment that was on. There was a big thunder storm one day, the whole resort was flooded, it reminded me of the UK, but that was soon forgotten when the sun eventually came out again and we could all go back to the pool and have fun. I enjoyed it. It's mainly a family and couples holiday, it's not your typical group holiday at all.Costa del Sol, Spain Winter Bliss Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Jane Date of travel: 10/02/2007
Went to the Costa del Sol with my mum in February. Was total bliss! Most people go to the Costa Del Sol in the summer but in February, ok it's not so hot but it's not freezing like england and there are hardly any tourists. The Costa Del Sol has been totally ravaged by the tourist industry. All there is is british pubs and indian takeaways and aparthotels and in the summer that's all you see as well as sunburnt british people. However when we went in the winter we hired a car and drove round all the little villages. Ate tapas, walked along the coast. Shopped in the farmers markets. Also drove along the coast to Gibraltar which was really surreal. Its like England.... but in Spain! Ronda is so beautiful in the winter. A thunder storm was brewing and the view from the plateau was stunning with the big grey clouds framing the mountains. Mijas is a must see. Very pretty little town :-)
I'm a winter holiday in the Costas convert and trust me it's much better than lying on the beach with the other british tourists in the summer! |
