First thing I noticed about salou was the colour or the sky. It was a magnificent blue and made you feel as though you can put you hands up in the air and fly.
Salou has the best of both worlds, in one hand it's perfect for all the club goers (lots of tropical clubs like
snoopys etc.. and on the other hand
it's a funtime entertainment hub for children (themeparks and lots of other discoveries)
you can easily get to Barcelona with a travel and the journey does not exceep more than 30 mins or so.
The beaches were quite clean and food of all different varieties are available ( best was taj mahal restaurant)
hope you try this destination once before you die... You will not be dissappointed. Salou, Costa Dorada, Spain Salou Rating: 10/10

we were holidaying in Salou in June last year, it was a fantastic family holiday. We had our 3 year old son and our friends had their 2 year old, all in all a fantastic family holiday! lots of great fun for young and old. porta ventura was a winner for us,( thought i was in a mini florida). both water parks we went to were really clean and eveyone friendly!! beaches were also gorjus especially the one in La Pineada. This is probably the most child friendly resort we have ever been to, it was absolutely perfect for our yearly family holiday and there was not a moment that the kids or we were bored. I just had lovely book and read it whilst relaxing in the sun while the kids played in the crystal clear water. We also went to the water park there which was really good and the kids had a wonderful time. I don’t think throughout the whole trip that I heard the kids complain about anything which was a first. The food was great, the facilities very top quality and the beach made the whole holiday fabulous. We didn’t even realise how quickly the week went by maybe next year we will go for 2 weeks.Salou, Costa Dorada, Spain Once in a Lifetime Rating: 7/10

Nice place but would not like to visit again. Somewhat clean and nice beach but there was a weird smell in the resort. Some of the streets were dirty and I did not like the attitudes of some of the vendors. People dumb rubbish along the street instead of using bins which made the street vendors have to work that much harder. People smoked everywhere including the bars (this is illegal to smoke indoors) and if the owner was not smoking himself, he still did not make the others stop. And when we complained they simply looked at us as if we were crazy. There was not much variety of entertainment but what they offered was of much value. At night the beach was picture perfect and some of the restaurants would play music as you ate by the light of the moon. It had it good parts but many bad parts as well. Was a great place to visit on the whole. My teen cousins loved the Portaventura themed park because of the great rides and the food and we loved it because they were exhausted and wanted to sleep after they came home. They could not stop talking about the big wave machine that would make the water rippled every 15minutes and how they challenged every wave that came their way. The whole family loved the resort because it offered much on the side of entertainment and food. What brought us a little concern was that there were too many main roads to cross with plenty of traffic so we had to keep a special eye on the little ones. Salou had a fantastic beach with weather that remained beautiful throughout our stay. We were able to jump over to Barcelona for cheap and eat tapas along the beach shore. In Salou itself the town was lovely. There were lots of bars and pubs to eat. Not too many night clubs (so we could monitor the teens) buy there were comedy clubs, magic shows, hypnotists and live music. Cambrils is one of the best places in the Costa Dorada area with the best beaches that I have ever seen. I spent most of my time on the beach and then enjoyed the delicious sea food at different restaurants every day. There is a great theme park nearby as well which is perfect for the kids. Salou, Costa Dorada, Spain Excellent party Capital. Rating: 7/10

Me and another 6 of us went on a girly holiday to Salou, the hotel we stayed in was called Calypso, it wasn't the nicest hotel i've ever stayed in but you get what you pay for basically. The room was quite small and very stuffy and the pool side was crowded with kids and families every where. We went to the Port Aventura theme park and went on the Dragon Khan rollercoaster, that was ace. We enjoed the evening entertainment as the bars and clubs were open till 4am in the morning. Sometimes you would get some truoble but everywhere you go you get that so we just got on with partying and having a laugh. I would never stay in the Calypso hotel again, I would go to a more luxury one next time. But Salou is a top place.La Pineda, Costa Dorada, Spain The hotel was gorgeous! Rating: 8/10

OMG the hotel in La Pineda is like, OMG! I stayed in the Hotel Palas Pineda, 4 star, the pool was out of this world and the inside of the hotel was like a palace.. It was drop dead gorgeous. You didn't need to step out side of the hotel as it had everything, a hairdressers, cosy cafe/bars, the Tavern nightclub, restaurants you name it, it had it. But ok, it never had the beautiful beach though, with palm trees everywhere and a beach bar as well, plus boat rides and pedal boats etc, I had a wicked time in La Pineda. I stayed in the hotel of the evening though as the hotel organised there own shows etc.Cambrils, Costa Dorada, Spain Nice pleasant resort. Rating: 7/10

I enjoyed my self in Cambrils, i loved doing the beach volleyball and go-karting. The fishing village is fishy but very interesting. Me and my girlfriend also went to explore Port Aventura theme park and had a great day. Cambrils is a much quiter resort compared to Salou, but we took a day trip into Salou for a change. The night life in Salou is very liveley and busy but back in Cambrils it was much more relaxed and pleasant. Which is what we liked about the resort. You have the best of both resorts.Costa Dorada, Spain Costa Dorada's is great. Rating: 7/10

I stayed at the Isabela, Costa Dorada beach resort and it was nice, had everyting you needed and the pool side was nice too. I picked and choosed from the beach and the pool area as they were both good for sunbathing. If you fancied a day out then you could visit the local water park where I found that it was a joy and a laugh, I almost lost my bikini top at one point, how embarrassing. There is also bars and restaurants by the resort so you wont go hungey or thirsty. Plus the hotel had its own restaurant and bar area as well. |
