Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Sheela Date of travel: 11/08/2007
Just returned from a weeks stay in Pineda and wish I was still there. The hotel Golden Donaire Park was right on the front door step of the beach and was cleaned every evening ready for the next day. I would recommend the water park Aquopolis - really great fun for all the family. There is plenty for everyone to enjoy in Pineda, some expensive activities and some reasonable prices too, depends on what you’re into really. But you will not get bored at any time. The beach was big, very open and breezy and very relaxing. You get some locals trying to sell but there not in your face or pushy like most. There are some lively bars in the evening, great entertainment. Loved the karaoke evenings at Co Co’s, great atmosphere and everyone joined in too, great night. And there was a few other great bars knocking about. I loved every last minute, didn’t want to come home, miss the staff loads as they were like family, and treated you like family too. Really nice resort and would recommend it to everyone..Calella, Costa Brava, Spain Costa Brava or Not Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Larry Date of travel: 15/07/2007
Fantastic resort, apparently there is some kind of confusion about whether it is in the Costa Brava but I say “who cares!” Costa Brava or not, Calella is absolutely fantastic and the beach is amazing. The nightlife is probably the main draw of Calella and it is very suitable for the younger crowd.Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain This resort is spot on. Tossa de Mar offers great entertainment, if you want a good night out then visit the Ardilla and Tahiti bars with in the resort. It's so much fun, plus great days out and really nice accommodation too. You will not want for anything.Estartit, Costa Brava, Spain Will GO Again and Again Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Ariel Date of travel: 10/10/2006
Beautiful beach that is far away from the noise and danger traffic. Nice cool water with gentle waves. The views from the port were stunning and if you walk off onto a boat prepare to have your breath knocked out of you from the sights. Another place for fantastic sights was the nature reserves, the towns, and the villages. All so wonderful and green and soft. Nature at its best untainted or touched by industry. The shops were very nice and you can get deals if you are nice to the vendors. The Tapas bars were superb and served the best tortilla and croquettes. We bought extra so that we could eat them later in the hotel. I especially liked the flamenco and salsa shows. The dancers were full of life and energy and we got close seats, the night of the show, for very cheap. We definitely want to make it a tradition to come back every couple of years. Our hotel was splendid and told us that if we continue to return that they will give us discounts each and every time. We gave many of the staff members hugs when we left because we bonded so well.
We will come back for the food and the fun and the service and the sun and the clubs and the bars, and the atmosphere and the shops. Estartit is an amazing place for most everyone.
Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain Tossa de Mar is a Lovely Area. Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Edna Date of travel: 06/09/2006
Tossa de Mar is a blissful place, I’m a lazy tourist and all I do all day is sunbath and drink cocktails. That’s what you go on holiday for, to relax and get away from the day to day life. It depends on what part of Tossa de Mar you end up really, but I got a nice and quiet area which is what I was hoping for. My hotel was in the middle of everything, bars, shops, the beach, restaurants and supermarkets. The beach was very peaceful; the water sports were at the other end of the beach so there was the fun area and the quieter area too. Everyone is happy then. There were some great restaurants to dine in, you could choose from a selection of fish and meats etc and not to pricy either. The local people are very friendly; some can be too friendly but there no harm. I went to Sitges with my friends last year and we had an absolutely fantastic time, there was a wonderful carnival atmosphere and everyone was friendly. Although my friends and I had a great time In Sitges I don’t think it’s somewhere my husband and I would go for a holiday as he would probably not enjoy the buzzing atmosphere and he doesn’t like big crowds. I would definitely go back there if I could coordinate a suitable time with all my mates.Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain Lloret de Mar is a nice place. I stayed in a caravan with 2 other friends, we weren't bothered about an apartment or a posh hotel as we was out most of the day anyway. We would venture back to the caravan park about 6pm for dinner and to get ready for the night and that was it, oh and to sleep of course! There was a pool area in the park with a bar; it was a huge caravan park, not a gypsy type though. There was also a small shop where you could buy the basic food and drinks and there was also a reception area as well. Out side of the caravan park you would come to more shops, and some restaurants selling, meat etc. The beach from the park was 10 minute walk and you also had to cross a small road, it wasn't busy. There were no sun beds or brollies and the sand was on fire, you had to sprint for the sea to cool down. There were a few food huts that sold chips, burgers etc and cold drinks and the usual toilets etc. You had to walk further down the resort to find all the main restaurants, shops, bars etc and it was very entertaining in the evening too, the whole streets were packed with tourists, locals etc. You could hardly move. It was a good holiday, not a luxury resort but it had everything you needed.Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain To quiet for me... Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Jeremy Date of travel: 03/05/2006
Where can I start? No where..... It was a boring holiday...... Ok, I choose the destination but I though there would be some fun and laughter but it was a dead mans land. You got your bars and maybe 1 or 2 clubs but they wasn't buzzing or anything of the sort, they were empty and the music was so low you couldn’t hear it. It was ok in the day time, coz there was the beach and water sports to keep you amused but in the evening it was very quiet. I do have some good things to say though, the food was lovely and it was very good service and the people are very friendly too…Costa Brava, Spain Costa Brava Here we Come! Our hotel was nice, facing all the bars and restaurant so you can be nosey and watch everything that goes on. If you’re looking for a fun packed holiday then Costa Brava is for you. It was definitely for us! In the evening its party time! And in the day it relax, sunbath and explore. The complex is cool, offers a gym, mountain bike hire shop, bars, cafes, doctors surgery, supermarket and restaurants. In the day time its very quiet and peaceful, you will get the odd bar which shows Football playing and fans screaming but that’s normal where ever you go. The beach is a bit rocky sandy type but it was nice though, the sea is calm some days but other days you can get some powerful waves. In the evening the resort is a party land, full of music, free drinks every where, people having a laugh and dancing too. It’s really fun. Me and my friend enjoyed every last minute.Estartit, Costa Brava, Spain Fantastic Holiday! Rating: 10/10 Submitted by: Anita Date of travel: 22/05/2005
I am trying to think of something bad to say about Estartit but I can't think of anything. It was absolutely perfect, the beach was immaculate, the weather was excellent and the food was delicious. Very family friendly with facilities for children like parks and cr?ches and at the same time there were some really nice tasteful bars. I would recommend Estartit for a fun holiday any day.Tossa de Mar, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Laura Date of travel: 13/06/2005
Nice resort, very clean and surrounded by friendly people but it's a pretty uneventful place which is perfect for old couples or people who want to just lie around on the beach all day and do nothing else. Not really my cup of tea but it was a pleasant place to visit as the people are really friendly.Sitges, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Julian Date of travel: 04/04/2006
Sitges is an excellent resort for a holiday with good weather pretty much all year round it doesn't really make a difference when you visit. If you visit during the summer months you might find it a bit overwhelming as it can get very crowded. De la Ribera beach is nice clean beach that has become very popular amongst the tourists. Apart from the beach life Sitges offers a rich history which can be explored through visiting the buildings and museums. Make sure you visit Sin Street once the sun goes down as that's where all the clubs and bars are. Sitges also has an active gay community which has boosted tourism over the last few years. Santa Susanna, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Kirsty Date of travel: 13/10/2005
Visiting Santa Susanna was a very pleasant experience although I visited a couple of years ago I am sure that it has gotten even better now. Santa Susanna is one of the least touristy places in the Costa Brava region which is why it appealed to me. There are some really good cheap and cheerful bars and restaurants and there is a wide range of activities to keep you occupied during the day. Malgrat, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Elaine Date of travel: 15/06/2003
I stayed at Malgrat on a self catering board. We spent most of the holiday touring the water park, marineland and the marine zoo. On the last day we went to the Dolphinarium and we got to swim with the dolphions, now that was a top experience. I would love to swim with dolphins again, they are such friendly Mammals. Lloret de Mar was and Calella is close by so if you fancy a day off from Malgrat then you can get the water taxi serive to another resort. Lloret de Mar is a very lively resort and has plenty of british tourists, british bars, clubs, beach parties, foam parties and boat trips. I was in my element. Me & my mates hit the beach about 8am and there was already a que for the boat. I also took a trip to the water park and enjoyed the cool water slides and rock climbing pools. It was a fun packed holiday and I was constantly on the go from morning, noon and night. You will never get bored in Lloret de Mar as it's one of the most liveliest spots across the Costa Brava with loads to do. I've already booked another holiday there with my girlfriend and some friends for next summer. Its going to be another top holiday.Costa Brava - Other, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Jennifer Date of travel: 18/07/1997
I stayed in the resort Palamos in Costa Brava. It wasn't what I expected but I enjoyed my stay. The fishing harbour is a great site see, and getting to see all the beautiful boats made me jealous. So the next day I enjoed a day on a boat and drank red wine and had sea food platters, it was amazing experience. I also enjoyed a tour round a museum and viewd amazing art pieces etc, something which I haven't done for years. I enjoy a nice beach/pool holiday, somewhere like the Dominican Republic but I can't moan at the experience of Palamos. It was something different and I did enjoy it.Calella, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Christopher Date of travel: 24/06/2007
Perfect really, lots of tiny Spanish shops for clothes, etc, the whole town is near a beach, much more livelier than Pineda, at night there are about 10 different clubs to choose from including one which does a foam party, plenty of nice places to go out and eat, the place just seems to be alive, also near a train station for easy an easy link to Barcelona.Pineda, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: David Date of travel: 15/06/2007
It was a very quiet town only a few bars in the area, like a traditional spanish town. Near to a massive and great beach, train station is a 25min journey to BarceLona, the locals are great, theres like a town centre where everyone meets up at night...5min train to llored de mar where there's lots of bars. Blanes, Costa Brava, Spain Rating: 5/10 Submitted by: Janet Date of travel: 17/06/1998
This is a nice and quiet resort for the family type. I love to sunbathe for hours so having a beach on your door step was brill. The pool wasn't up 2 scratch but that never bothered me. There wasn't much night life as well but i'm not the party type, especially with 5 kids... I enjoy walks and scenery so going into the centre of Blanes was nice, and if you want a night out then going into Blanes central is the best choice, as they do some good pubs and restaurants. |
