If you enjoy walking like I do than Carvoeiro has a nice selection of attractions and views for you to enjoy as long as you are willing to trek around the village. Look out for the rock formation that is always changing thanks to constant erosion from the sea, it is quite a sight. A lot of the bars are run by British people so language is never going to be a problem however I would challenge you to find a bar run by a local and experience the true essence of Portugal.
