This was our first visit to Albir (10 mins from Benidorm). My wife, two sons and myself all stayed at the Gardens Hotel. Hotel was clean and comfortable, so no complaints there. Every morning started with a visit to Shevlins bar, about 3-5 mins walk down from the hotel. They do a very nice full english at very reasonable prices, plus I could catch up on the latest skynews whilst eating my breakfast! It does get quite busy there so be early. A stroll down to the beach (pebbles) takes around 15 mins, although the buses are every 15 mins at a cost of 1.20e. Some nice bars and cafes on the seafront, so spoilt for choice. Also tried and failed miserably at the mini golf on the sea front. Try the WOK for a chinese buffet, only 10e for eat all you want, nice surroundings too. With having the two boys, we did not venture into benidorm, but maybe one for the future. Shevlins also has karaoke on the weekend, which again was very popular. I would recommend this resort to families and couples, very rlaxing with plenty to keep you occupied. I rate this as one of my favourite holidays.Albir, Costa Blanca, Spain Great Rating: 9/10 Submitted by: Gill Date of travel: 01/09/2008
Stayed at Camping excalibur, pool was fantastic, just not to many sunbeds. Each morning we had a lovely breakfast at shevlins 10 min walk into the the main road into albir, which was a brilliant start to each day n very reasonable prices. Albir beach was really nice just pebbly but didnt bother us. Some nice restaurants to eat in on a nite, saritas indian was lovely not cheap but a lovely meal think was about 60euros for 4 of us. Chineses were cheap but not that great depending on what we had. Spent a few nites in benidorm 10 min taxi ride away, and 2nites in shevlins for karaoke which was very popular. I would definatly return to albir. Albir, Costa Blanca, Spain Albir Rating: 7/10 Submitted by: Stan Date of travel: 08/11/2007
This is our second visit to albir this year. The attraction of this cosmopolitan place was too strong to miss. One of the first things we noticed was how clean the streets were, how wide and open the whole place was.We have never been so relaxed on a holiday.Eating out is a pleasure with so much to choose from.We visited the American Diner a few times for great food and hosts.Lots of chinees to choose from also.A bus ride at 0ne euro will take you to Benidorm for the hustle and bustle of nightlife if you want.
Albir has a charm that is breathtaking,a holiday we recommend.
The only downside to Albir from my point of view, the beach is made of peables and not sand but the setting is stunning.Albir, Costa Blanca, Spain Alternative to Benidorm Rating: 8/10 Submitted by: Colly Date of travel: 29/08/2007
When visiting the wonderful resort of Albir bear in mind that this is a location for the non Benidorm type, by that I mean that the resort is pretty quite and offers a place of relaxation and away from the bustling crowds. Don’t worry though you won’t be stranded in the middle of nowhere, you are still close enough to go off and party at the nearby resorts. The town itself look very modern with very wide roads and plenty of space which means now fighting for parking.Albir, Costa Blanca, Spain Brilliant! Its one of the nicest resorts I’ve been to, we stayed at the Albir Playa hotel, from the front there is huge tinted windows and the rooms are amazing, very bright and clean. The beach is on your door step too so you have the best of both worlds; it was a good choice of holiday. The El Popopollo café was our main morning start to the day, with a greasy breakfast and a nice cup of tea to follow. Then we would hit the beach and sunbathe for a couple hours. Next door to the El Popopolla cafe was our favourite pub, the Ye Olde Pub, the drinks were very refreshing. There was a golf course if anyone fancied a game of golf and there were also tennis courts too to keep you active through out the day. It wasn’t just sunbathing to be done; there was snorkelling, scuba diving and wind surfing as well. You will never get bored.Albir, Costa Blanca, Spain Rating: 6/10 Submitted by: Joanne Date of travel: 24/05/2004
Albir is a seaside resort but the beach is pebble and not sand. You do get your sandy areas but you have to walk further along the coast and it's always busy. There is a Water park close by which is cool and you always have something to do and enjoy with the tones of activities available. There is a few restaurants and bars too so there is plenty of food and beers and the night life is good so the resort does have it's good points.. |
