According to the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta), the Canary Islands are the most popular holiday destination over Easter, in particular Tenerife, as the weather promises to be "excellent".

"The early Easter has given our customers the ... option of ... topping up their tans and the extended peak period has also seen a flattening out of prices, which has increased the number of holiday bargains for this time of year," commented Abta president Justin Fleming.
Tour operators like Olympic Holidays - who offer flights to Mexico, Egypt and the Mediterranean which are all set to be popular this Easter - are also likely to be busy this weekend.
According to Abta, two million Brits are set to leave the UK, with thousands departing through central and regional airports.
