Spain NewsMajorca in winter is "hidden gem" Spain | 6th of March 2008 | Read or post comments (0) From Spain News in Destination News Many holidaymakers may associate holidays to Majorca as a sea, sun and sangria holiday in the summer months to Magaluf.
However, it has been noted that the Balearic Island also has much to offer in the winter months, thanks to its laid-back pace of life and lush greenery.
According to Go2Spain, winter is the "best time" to visit the Spanish holiday islands as the "sleepy" Spanish way of life emerges after the summer season ends.
"Spain's islands are full of hidden gems and in the winter, transform themselves into vibrant cultural centres. When the summer holidaymakers pack their cases and head home, destinations ... fill up their calendars with art and music festivals," Olivia Skeen, Go2Spain marketing manager said.
Also to be enjoyed during the winter months are the local markets and the art, while Majorca's nature is described as a verdant greenery.
Majorca is one of the Spanish Balearic Islands, which also consist of Ibiza and Minorca.
